Here is how I make my black bear bait barrels. The are inexpensive, robust, and effective. This design helps to decrease raccoon activity around your bait and thus increase bear activity. We also trialed a new design this season which I'll show in another video.
I had some help setting up this bait barrel with some new friends from Germany, as well as from @TheWoodedBeardsman

Glad to be of help! We don't have bears in Germany so it was especially interesting to learn about them and how to hunt them.
Also use cordless 1/2” drive cordless impact! Best scent for attracting is by Liquid smoke in pump sprayer! Popcorn is cheap but bears eat lots not filling? We use Nutter butter cookies. And Fruit pie filling an gummie bear snacks
When I have watched them eat popcorn they seem to eat it one at a time!? They are so slow. It probably isn't super filling, but they keep coming back for more.
@@OneWildcrafter Yes I would agree they will always eat what’s available! They also can’t grab a big chunk an go back out of site and eat it! What I noticed with bigger hole they will reach in an shovel a bunch out on ground an lay down an eat it. I have countless pics of coons inside barrel with like 8x8 hole

That “slime mold” is a “Lions Mane” mushroom. Awesome find!
That stump is a white spruce, so I think it isn't a lion's mane baby. Probably something else.
That fungus actually looks like a young hericium mushroom to me (Lion's Mane)
