  • In this video I go a little into fishing a Senko. It is not the most advanced video but I made it to keep your options open with this bait. I hope that anyone who watches this video takes away some small detail and applies it on the water. Also, please excuse my stuttering at the end of the video

What makes you fish a Texas rig with a with a baitcaster, and a wacky with spinning if they're both weightless?

@richwebb2582 If I'm using a baitcaster, it's typically going to be around heavier cover. When I use a baitcaster on a weightless senko, I'm also keeping it up in the water column instead of letting it sink. I feel as if I have more control on a medium action baitcaster when working it fast over grass like a fluke. Then with the medium heavy I have a tungsten weight on and Im actually flipping it into the the cover. So heavier line and thicker vegetation/brush to get tbe fish out of. As far as using a spinning rod with a wacky rig, it's just more of a finesse approach, I guess you could say. Lighter line and I'm keeping the bait on the outside of the cover. I'm also letting it sink and can just open the bell on a spinning rod and let line out to let it slowly sink. Hope some of that helps!

Personally I prefer a Texas rig with a bit of weight. Any reason why you do it weightless?

@jamesnevins1832 it allows me to keep it up in the water column and just twitch it above the grass like a fluke. Also, letting it sink without a weight gives the bait a whole different action as it slowly falls
