she was SO SINCERE & GENUINE. Such a calm vibe from her 😍 amazing
She should be in top 5
calm = boring

I had her in my TOP thanks to her preliminary performance. I would not have scored her the highest in interview but she did get my attention. Well done!
you can tell she's naturally comfortable talking and communicating with other people! loved her so much and was so glad she made it to the top 16
I think she made it thru votes since she was called last?
@@jeopardy3427 no, it was confirmed that Laos was the fan vote winner.

@@niclecolombien aaaah okay. Now, I know. ☺️
To be a woman that 1 year ago didn’t speak English at all, she did amazing. Her determination to overcome all of those situations and her desire to represent her country lead her to do great efforts and also learn a new language from the start. The competition was strong this year and Maria was one of the strongest competitors since the beginning, you did amazing.
Love from PR 🇵🇷
omg, I’m so proud of you Mafe.🥺❤️ VIVAA COLOMBIAAAAA!🇨🇴✨
Its about the conviction of thoughts , even though Her English is not perfect but look how beautifully she conveyed her thoughts and messages. That's what Confidence is all about . Colombia all the love from India⭐♥️🇮🇳
And what is perfect English?

Congratulations Miss Colombia! Love from the Philippines
Not fluent in English but still we can understand what she want to say. She don't look under confident at all. Love the way she speaks with conviction and that matters a lot. Greetings from 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
She doesnt have to be fluent in english, her native language is spanish.
Her English is amazing!!! What are you talking about?
I've taught English as a second language. Her fluency is actually admirably good--she has a good rhythm and expresses what she wants to say well. Her accuracy (grammar, word choice) is less well -developed than her fluency, but fluency (being able to convey one's meaning) is the more important of the two skills usually.
@@rleitne I'm a teacher and I totally agree with you honey. Well explained! People usually confuse fluency and accuracy.
Her English was not a problem at all, but she did not connect, general ideas with no sustance, development, not a catchy conversation!
Great job Mafe, I can only imagine how nervous you were, and how you excited you were. Her body language, shows how passionate she is and how happy she was of being there, and being able to answer in English, a language she started to learn less than a year ago, and to be brave enough to try it in front of the panel, speaks a lot about who she is.
that takes courage! i have new level of respect for Mafe (:
Her English was mediocre
@@juanmarquez1125 interesting point of view.

She is very authentic and articulate even though English is not her firs language
She was absolutely amazing !!! She doesn’t speak english Perfectly but she did a great job because she spoke from her soul. Mafe: you deserve more than a crown. You are an inspiration for your country! We really love you in Colombia! You are our queen!
why english needs to be perfect? a lot of american people don't even speak very well their english and don't speak another language, for USA is always easy to express herself in her native language, so stop criticizing latin girls for trying to speak in another language
@@cheohugo7526 that’s true. She was very smart and she spoke very well.
Whenever i listen her speaking whether in UA-cam or fb pages it gives me the strength DON'T GIVE UP she's an example of hardwork, determination and dedication ♥️frm 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Love Colombia she should’ve been top five.
I love her 😍❤️ At first I thought the hype about her was because she’s so beautiful and stunning (I hadn’t followed her journey yet) but having followed her as she embarked at the Miss Universe competition, I couldn’t help but be awed by her presence and how she communicates as well. Even though she’s not fluent in English, it’s remarkable how she can articulate herself so well and communicate her message effectively 🙌🏽😅❤️❤️ Love this woman so much! ❤️ Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Omg exactly the same 😂 like 200% same. I thought everyone just saw a pretty face but by the end of the competition I was in awe of everything she did 😍 so glad she made it
what a corny comment
Wow she is so polish and well spoken considering English is not her first language. Wish they could have included her in the top 5.
The top 5 was already tough and strong but for sure she was the rank 6.
I don't understand why she didn't placed in the top 5, she has everything to be Miss Universe.
Others were better in their answer
The top 5 just performed way better than her in finals, that’s mostly it. She deserves her spot in top 16 nevertheless.
❤ from the PH.
English isn't my first language but even I noticed she wasn't comfortable in speaking and that limited her chances to express her own thoughts
Others were much more catchy and inspiring, developeed their ideas and projects to the fullest, Mafe was too general and did not make judges laugh as other more carismatic girls!
Although English is not her first language, she was able to express her ideas and communicate very well. Te amo María Fernanda 🥰
She is so natural and I love her conviction
The genuineness can be felt in her words and expressions.. very heartfelt answers♥️
She speaks so sweetly.
Absolutely in love with Colombia, her angel and passion is not under discussion ❤️.
wow colombia! english is not perfect but I appreciate how engaging and expressive she was

I have never been so impressed by and Colombian candidate the way mafe and Laura (2017) have influenced me .....wao mafe u r true winner of hearts ....u taught me so so much just be these few minutes and u hv inspired many PPL 1 including me .....if u reading this mafe, we love u infinitely from India ❤️
🔥🔥🔥
She should be in Top 5!
So who will be eliminated?
No one🤡
I can listen to her ❤️ for hours .
She did a great job❤️
She has a unique calm energy to her that’s so genuine, and humble even with her looks that’s are out of this world! She always feels so down to earth, I saw her in person after the pageant and how she acts with people was so heart warming ❤️🫶🏻
Beautiful Colombia ❤❤❤❤ She is so sweetheart
My take, no hate please:
While originally non-English speaking, Ms. Aristizabal has notably improved her command of the language as far as finding words and being able to convey them in an understandable manner. Kudos to her. But, to me, it was her rather passionate (Colombian Spanish?) pace to convey so many ideas in the short time allocated for the interview that tripped her. She was galloping all over the place. So much so that the explanations she was conveying were piling up on top of each other in a big jumble, often repeating words as a nervous tick. If only she paced herself slower and not look like she was "on the spot" in some kind of a verbal exam - even if the Miss Universe interview is really designed to be a verbal exam - and instead beam out an elegantly confident and queenly demeanor. Being able to edit her many bullet points in her head as well as a less raspy, more sweet-sounding voice would have tremendously helped. But I guess this is what happens when one is too eager to win or go further in the competition.
Take note, future Miss Universe contestants: take a deep breath, relax and do your spiel with only a coherent rundown of the most salient facts in your bio...too much information is TOO much for such a short interview. Oh, and give a beatific smile while looking at the selection committee members in the eyes every time you open your mouth.

@@cheohugo7526 "criticizing latin girls for trying to speak in another language"?! I was congratulating Miss Colombia: "Ms. Aristizabal has notably improved her command of the language as far as finding words and being able to convey them in an understandable manner. Kudos to her. " I think YOU should improve your own comprehension of the English language. Or maybe you don't understand the word "kudos"? In which case, use Google Translate then. 🙂
MARÍA FERNANDA ARISTIZABAL MISS COLOMBIA, LO HIZO DEMASIADO BIEN, SU INGLÉS BIEN PERFECCIONADO Y MUY FLUIDO COMO LO MUESTRAN AQUÍ SE EXPRESA DE UNA FORMA QUE LO CAUTIVA A UNO, TODAVÍA NO SUPERÓ LO QUE HICIERON ELLA ESTABA BIEN PREPARADA, PERO COMO SIEMPRE A COLOMBIA LE QUITAN SU PUESTO Y SU CORONA, ESOS JURADOS DE BELLEZA Y DE ORATORIA NO SABEN NADA , siempre amaré a Mafe nuetra Reina querida 👑🇨🇴

So far Ms. Canada is the one with best answer. Very eloquent speaker

Somebody banged her closed door.

Among the 84 contestants I saw her skin sparks the most. Her beautiful skin stood out the most. Her Q&A is average, not much markings in listener's mind.
Her beauty sparks the most above all

She’s stunning
I love you mafe
colombia outstanding, still have no idea why she was left out of top 5 / may be by deliberateness... all time same nations cannot be in top 5
Because others were more stronger
I ‘ll love to see more interviews ; Honduras ,Chile , Paraguay and Brasil
Good job colombia! No wonder u got in. Cheering from the Philippines!
She is real beauty.
She is very intelligent and beautiful no wonder she's in Top 16 !
IT'S HER PASSION AND CONVICTION !
She surely grew on me. At first I didn't get the hype at all but very slowly she became someone I wanted in the top... and they knew a lot of us did so they gave her the very last spot 🤣
I love her very auténtica, top 3 ❤❤❤
Beautiful inside and out
Her reasons that make her resilient are so real. Like crap really rained on her. 3 years late, she made it!
She is my favorite❤️❤️🫶❣️

No doubt that the pressure at that moment is really high but it's not only about convincing the judges but also she could have been more genuine regarding her answer. She was answering it as if they would make her the miss universe at that very moment or afterwards.
Can't understand what's she's trying to say.
Beautiful Queen

Beauty and brains
She was my favorite delegate for the crown. I started to follow her since she won Señorita Colombia. I know all the hard and difficults moment she faced. I see her now making her dreams come true, it's glad 'cause i know she really wished it. She could easily talk in her native language which is spanish, but she did it in english, which was something she didn't manage, but Mafer overcame that obstacle and i really proud of her. She is so beautiful, her green eyes mesmerize me a lot! Well done, Mafer! You're my queen!
She talks too casual but comes accross so humble.
She won Señorita Colombia 2019 and supposed to join Miss Universe 2020. Had she competed in 2020, she would have been shoo in for Top 5
I don't think so, she wasn't prepared enough. Timing is perfect and this year was her year, regardless of not placing higher.
She connected emotionally but not much intellectually. She’s very repetitive here. But not a bad job at all. She did good.
I love her
Amo
Venezuela, Perú and USA please
DUHHHH sentido común le llaman man
I was very nervous, she is very beautiful. he could have gone further if his interview was not so repetitive.
She really nailed it. She did it so well, but I didn't feel the wow factor that I imagine a Miss Universe has. She loves communicating and everyone sees that, but the way she spoke didn't convince me to crown her.
Waiting for Philippines...
No sé qué dice pero suena segura 🤌🏻❤️
