My mother used to make this kind of hamburger gravey, served over boiled potatoes, we lived it, I will have to make it, I have forgotten about it, thank you for reminding me
Hi Renea and family, your channel not only teaches me but you make me smile too. Could you do a video about how many weeks or months you freeze your foods for, for instance the egg, sausage and cheese muffins you’ve made and burgers, and mashed potatoes, pies, and other foods. And can you give us your version of flash freezing compared to just freezing foods. Thanks hope you see this message. Thanks again for being so informative. 👏🇦🇺❤
I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate the freezer meals! I’m disabled & when I have a good day I try to put some meals away for my bad days when I’m not able to do much! I love you & have been a subscriber for several years. You never disappoint! Big hugs from SC. ❤️🌷
My husband and I have eleven children.I thought I was the only mother who fed my children Hamburger gravy. At the time it was a very budget friendly meal. That's when hamburger was .99$ a pound. That was in the 1990's .You're the first I have seen on UA-cam to make this. I was thrilled to see you make it. 🥰
It’s so funny watching you cook. I was so happy that you used a spatula to scrap out every last drop of eggs. A girl after my OCD heart. It drives me crazy to see people cook and leave half of the food in the bowl. I guess it because my grandma taught me how to cook. She was raised in the depression and didn’t waste anything.
OMG, some of the chefs on the cooking channels drive me crazy not scraping out a bowl! Between that and never touching the food with their hands (best tools in the kitchen), I’ve written off shows ten minutes into it, I can’t tolerate watching it. 😊
I just joined im stage 4 kidney disease so I can't eat anything u cook but I love watching your energy the love you have for your family I have 3 grandchildren I will cook your recipes for them thank you
Arianna, I'm also stage 4 ckd. Hope you continue staying off dialysis. I'm thankful this past blood test brought my gfr up to 18-- thank God for His help. I really don't want dialysis myself.
Dear Renea, Oh my gosh! I just found your incredible channel at 3amPST this morning when I was looking for a "ham gravy", and I was instantly hooked!!! You are so incredibly wonderful! I can't cook to save my life and would have loved to just spend days sitting in your kitchen watching, listening and learning from you! I would gladly be your "sous chef", would wash all the dishes and make you coffee as needed! Thank you, thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge, delicious dishes and joyful cooking with all of us! God bless you and your family, always! Sincerely, Mrs. Meggie Ulrich, San Diego, CA 🥰💖🙏✝️🙏💖🥰
I remember the day my 19 yr old son phoned me to ask how to thicken the stir fry (hes 44 now). New cooks dont know how to make a cornstarch slurry and youre making it easy for them to learn if they stumble on your channel. Love your approach.
Hamburger gravy is what we always called poor man's SOS. For sweet and sour pork, I add a eighth of a teaspoon ginger and a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar. I had no idea I could freeze the hamburger gravy. Seems like I learn something new everytime I watch you.
My grandma was a Lunch Lady in the grade school in Falls City, Oregon. She taught me to cook on a woodfire cook stove. She used to say cookin with and old stove like that was it was like drivin a stick shift, you operate that you can operate anything. She was chief cook and bottle washer up there. They didn't have the lunch menu's you see today so Gramma made her own based off the Salem/Keizer School Dist. template at the time. But all her stuff was homemade and in my stuff in storage I have all of her recipes. Over 100 people attended her funeral. Mostly family but there were the kids that grew up on her cookin at the grade school and when she cooked for them at Camp Kilowen that attended as well and they all told their stories. They all called her Aunt B.
My dad is a retired truck driver (and Air Force Veteran). I used to love going on the road with him. I'd spend my summers with him in the truck, driving all over the US. Truck Stops have upped their health game, because I remember those greasy buffets! They were always delicious, but not good for the body that's for sure. Those burgers and breakfast sandwiches look so delicious!
Just watched a video on energy saving appliances…one was an oven, then a crock pot and third a instant pot…. Winner was the instant pot….cheapest way to cook…I have an 8 qrt and a 12 qrt which I use almost everyday. Large batches in 12 qrt and it can hold two chickens. They’ve have been a blessing whenever I need a fast meal or heat up left overs. Tougher cuts of meats cook tender. A dozen of eggs no problem. A 5 lb bag of potatoes done in 6 min…..Squash done in no time..I love mine❤
Renea. I went to a brand new two story brick school building for 12 years. All the grades were in one building. There were 25 in my graduating class. Our lunches were great. My Mother was one of the cooks in our cafeteria all during my school years and beyond. No prepared mixes all was from scratch. Great meals. I woked in the lunch room from 7th grade till I graduated. First helping with the dishes and later counting. The money for the day for the lunches. When we worked, we got our lunches free. I got to keep my lunch money. I am 88 now. Grandma Sue in central Indiana
I'm truly happy to hear that you're getting a stove with more burners. You will just love it! I, too, went to a little rural school and we had fabulous lunch ladies. There were only two women and most classes probably had 15-20 kids. I loved hamburger gravy over a scoop of mashed potatoes. They also made beef gravy from cans of meat that the government gave them. It might not sound good but most of us really loved it, I love hearing your stories.
Some of my best food memories are from the school lunch room and commodity foods. I guess I have a “poverty palette” but I still cook and eat simple food with simple ingredients. 😊
Hamburger gravy must be a northern dish. I’m from the south and we have sausage gravy and biscuits but I’ve never heard of hamburger gravy in the south; sounds delicious!
About 6 years ago I became a lunch lady for the Salem/Keizer School Dist. and lunches were made very differently. I did that for about 3 years and then was hirrd on at Amazon when they opened up in Salem, Oregon. So if you order something and it says PDX7 on your shipping label that's the warehouse I work in.
I raw packed pork loin and canned it, for quick shredded pork sandwiches, on days I didn't feel up up cooking. I also canned BBQ sauce to put over the shredded pork! I did the same with chicken, but added carrots and onion, to have a base for chicken pot pie or chicken n noodles soup! I was so glad to have it to put into a crockpot, with chicken stock and noodles, when I was down with COVID for two weeks!
My Dad was crazy for any gravey. Adding hamberger or sausage, all the better. Biscuits, oh boy. Good food doe not have to be expensive. You just have to know how to cook. Love all the comments and get so much out of Renee's videos.
Love your freezer meals. I do just about all of them. Have watched all of your videos more than once. Started watching your early videos and enjoyed them, so stayed with them. You and I are very much alike. Love cooking and giving it to my kids or family or anyone that needs or wants it.
I love you so! I learned how to make bread...I have a few homeless people I am trying to help. Times are hard... I am learning from you. Thank you so much!
Thank you for being a kind and caring person, far too few left these days. May your kindness to those less fortunate come back to you tenfold in your life. 😊
You are one of the cheeriest people on UA-cam! I just love watching you because it makes me want to get up and get going! I hope you get your dream range, you will really enjoy the gas burners.
I don’t always measure for stuff like your making either but, I do use a recipe because I can’t remember everything that’s in every single thing I make. I don’t have a Rolodex in my brain like some people do. But I don’t always follow a recipe, unless I’m baking.
Renea love your channel and how you grew it. I have watched you for 5 years and learned how to pressure can. My pantry is loaded. Please wash your bagged baby carrots. They are rinsed in chemicals to preserve them. However they are great especially for snacking with hummus and taziki. 💞
When we converted to gas, I absolutely loved it. Can't imagine ever having to go back to electric. Love your videos. I'll be doing the sweet and sour pork for sure. Thank you for what you do.
Well, good mornin'! Got my coffee and gettin' my inspiration! I really enjoy your friendly personality and, of course, these fantastic recipes!!~You're a natural, Renae! YOU..have a good weekend~
We love hamburger gravy in our family but never considered making it in big batches and freezing it. And that sweet and sour pork looks like a big hit too!! Definitely going to make that one. You are such an inspiration, thank you! 😊
Love hamburger gravy. I like to have it over fried potatoes, and sometimes green beans. I haven't had it in quite awhile but your video has made me hungry for it again.
My school was much like yours. My Aunt used to work in the kitchen and some of the best recipes she made at home were school recipes cut into at least eighths for a large 'home' recipe! But the food was so yummy! My no bake cookie recipe came from her, that was the first place we ever had those! I live in a bigger town 10 miles from home now and the difference in the meals when my son went were huge (he was my surprise baby 12 years after his sister!). All pre-made meals now. They were a blessing when schools had to close though by giving meals out, even all through the summer.
My daughter's boyfriend is a truck driver and every couple weeks he has me make a bunch of blt sandwiches, but I pack the tomatoes separately so the sandwich doesn't get soggy. He gets a bunch of fresh fruit cups and celery and carrot sticks, apple slices and sometimes meatloaf sandwiches. He is diabetic so he said it helped him eat better. I'm taking one of your tips and making a few meat loaves to put in the freezer, also cooking up a bunch of meatballs and a couple pans of lasagna plus 5 pounds of taco meat and 5 pounds of chili meat. I love having meals that are easy to put together. I love seeing all the things you make. I never thought to make muffin sandwiches for the freezer. Thank you for all the videos!!
I really enjoy watching you cook those fabulous meals. I never heard of hamburger gravy, but I plan to make some. I'm glad I found your channel. You go Renee!!!❤️
I love watching your channel. So nice and peaceful. I can watch you over and over again. I would like to see your stuffed pork chop recipe. Thank you for sharing.
I just subscribed. I love watching you cook. I already purchased items you use. The zip lock bag holders and the dough mixer from Amazon. I saw you use it and liked it.
Every time I see your pan that you are working with I think " I have that exact pan" I think I got them at the Amish Action in Claire. a very long time ago.
Good Morning, having a cup of coffee as I fellowship with you, you are just a hoot and I so enjoy your content. Amen to - If you can help it, don’t let a child or anyone go hungry. God Bless You and Yours.
Honey. You are so cute!! I love how you are so sweet and positive with everything you say!! I have just found and started watching you and I love to watch every show!! The older lady you interviewed showing her pantry was precious! I'm from the mountains of North Carolina in the US. I have never heard of hamburger gravy, but I'm going to try it! Looks soooo good! My school had wonderful lunchroom ladies who cooked from scratch. Actually, when my kids finally entered school, and that took awhile, I even did subbing in the school cafeteria. We cooked whole chicken and turkeys and on our "break" we pulled the meat off! Good memories. Keep up the great work. I want to try all your meals!
Hi Ruth. I am loving your videos. I like when people cook good food. My great grandmother started the cafeteria in our small town of Reedsport, Oregon in the early 1950 my mom said it was very popular in our town. When I was in elementary school in the 80’s we also had a wonderful group of lunch ladies. The favorite lunches for everyone were chilli and Giant homemade cinnamon rolls to dip I the chilli and wiener wraps with fresh bread dough for the wrap. Good memories. Thanks for sharing your recipes!
I found a little meat market where my grandkids live and oh my goodness how much better the meats are than what I've been getting at the grocery store. Sales occasionally too.
I grew up on hamburger gravy. It was not served or at least I don't remember...we only had hot lunch in elementary school and junior high which were in the same building. High school was in a different building and we had to bring our own lunches. But my dad loved hamburger gravy and mom made it often....yum!!
You have a local butcher and that is fantastic!! Our son in Ohio has a local Amish butcher and I have gone a couple of times with him and he gets beautiful meat there. My son and I can not eat red meat because of gout so I don't purchase it but I did get an excellent deal on chicken at that market. We do not, any longer, in our area have a meat market......and I was so excited when in a little town right close to us opened up as FRANK'S MEATS. I was so happy until I discovered it is a restaurant with a small deli in it.
Seeing you wearing your apron makes me want to thank you for the link. My apron like that came yesterday and it is fantastic. I can put it on and take it off without help...arthritis. Thanks again.
I just had to compliment you on your hair. Looks beautiful. I love watching all your videos. You are so real, nothing fake about you like you see with so many UA-camrs. ❤
Hi Renea!!! My phone goes crazy sometime. I had a message wrote out and it wouldn't send. Anyways everything you made today looked super yummy. I really enjoy these freezer meals. Your hair looks real nice. Great video!!!...🦋
Wonderful recipes, I am so hungry right now lol, the hamburger gravy, we add peas and lots of garlic and serve with mashed potatoes, so yummy.Thank you tfor sharing all your videos, you're the best.
Good to hear you are getting a gas stove! I miss mine so badly. We moved out to the country and don’t have natural gas out here. I’m looking into getting a propane stove. I really dislike my electric stove! Thanks for the recipes. I can’t wait to try them out. Blessings to you and the family. ❤️🙏
Hey Ranae! What a delightful video! I never made the hamburger gravy with steak sauce and bouillon! So much flavor! My mouth is watering! You listed everything you made at the end… don’t forget the beef patties you flashed froze… You are an amazing woman! So glad your hens started laying… A shout out from Ohio… ❤
Just thought of this about your mother's kitchen in the other video at her home. I see what you mean about taking your wall halfway down behind your stove. Her kitchen looked so nice.
Hi Renae I'm not familiar with hamburger gravy how do you serve over bread biscuits or potatoes? I would have liked to see a plate as to how you serve any of your food. You eat with your eyes first. Lol. You have beautiful food in your freezer would love to see how it turns out all cooked. Your such a great cook. Never seen anyone make everything from scratch. Don't forget your cinnamon pull apart bread. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment 🙂
You can serve the hamburger gravy over toast, biscuits, potatoes, rice or noodles. We have it over mashed potatoes mostly. I plan to do the Cinnamon pull apart bread tomorrow and a beautiful dinner roll recipe.
@@LittleVillageHomestead thank you so much. I look forward to your videos everyday. I'm 63 and I just love you and your cooking style. The video you had the other day with your daughter was so precious. She's beautiful makes me miss my daughter and grandbabies even more than I already do. She decided to move from Missouri to Georgia. Her and I were best friends. Now she's so busy i don't talk to her about every 2 weeks or more. I really miss her. I'm praying that God moves her back to Missouri.
Seems like every small school had their famous lunch Ladies and they sure could cook! I gotta try the sweet and sour pork and make some of the egg and muffin sandwiches! to have in the freezer! Thanks Renea for sharing all these great meals!
The Iron Skillet LoL or a Denny's,, or pizza and chicken wings. Or the rotisserie bar, hot dogs, hours old breakfast sandwich or hamburgers unless you were lucky enough to be there when they brought out fresh ones. They have improved some with salads and fruit, and tuna sandwiches, some even have fried chicken, mashed potatoes green beans,.Hubby still prefers me to cook his meals, every once in a while he'll go in for rubber steak dinner, and instantly regret it, Covid brought about a lot of changes for them unfortunately. But I don't mind cooking for a couple of days to make sure he's eating healthy.Hes out 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Thank goodness for mini fridge and, microwave and air fryer/ toaster oven and the all important coffee maker.Thank you for all you do and share xxx
Hello Renae! My family LOVES hamburger gravy! My parents never made it but the lunch ladies did! I’ve worked hard to make it just like they did! Thanks for the wonderful memories! ♥️
What a wonderful way to spend my Saturday afternoon!! I am new to your channel & I have NEVER made freezer breakfast sandwiches before. How to you freeze them? How do you reheat them? This was such an inspiring cooking video!! Thank you soo very much for sharing!
I wrap them in plastic wrap doubled and just pop them in the freezer. They never last long enough to get freezer burnt. To reheat them, you can wrap them in foil and put them in the oven for a few minutes( I do thaw them overnight in the fridge). Or you can reheat them in the mcrowave. and toaster oven. Thank you so much.
My mother used to make this kind of hamburger gravey, served over boiled potatoes, we lived it, I will have to make it, I have forgotten about it, thank you for reminding me

Just got some more reusable ziplocks and ziplock holders yesterday and my big daddy pan will be here on sunday!!!
I love your channel such great ideas 💡 ❤
Good morn from Louisiana 😊
The lunch ladies at my grade school made baked spaghetti.
I have been making it for years.
Hungry kids have always bothered me also - great video
Awesome job ❤
I found a little meat market where my grandkids live and oh my goodness how much better the meats are than what I've been getting at the grocery store. Sales occasionally too.
Looks great!❤
I wish I had your stamina! Everything looks so good except I’m not a fan of sausage, but most people are.
I thank you also for sending me the link of your mother and you cooking. It was wonderful and she was so much like you. I loved watching it.
Looks soo good i have to try to make some from Philadelphia
I really enjoyed this video Renea! Thumbs up. All the recipes should be great.

I love you channel. So relaxing to visit with you. Love all your videos.
We always had bacon gravy 🤤🤤🤤. On homemade bread. Lord it was good
Hamburger Gravy and Sweet and Sour pork was a hit. Thank you, can’t wait to go to the next meal. They just haven’t made it to the freezer yet.
Love you energy great personality fantastic video !!
Another wonderful video! Love watching You Cook! Thank You so much!👍🏻♥️
Love it.Great meals.❤
Just fed my chickens and am watching now.
Awesome
@@LittleVillageHomestead Thank you! Trying this week for hubby!
Hello from Yonkers,N.Y I love your program.❤️🙏❤️
