Yes please do, ive been listening to every album and single i could find and everything is a complete bop after bop. Got into this band thanks to blue monday and bizarre love triangle
Okay I just heard this for the first time and freaking balled on the street trying to contain it. For the people who think this is cheese, I cant imagine youve ever lost anything important. This hit me like a cross bow through the chest. Plain and simple genius as usual. New Order and Bernard Sumner have MASTERED the art of saying just enough with lyrics overlaying absolutley brilliant unmistakable NO music. Not to mention, this song feels like it could be a response to SUB CULTURE, where he is young, arrogant, and stubborn. "In the end you will submit..." Well, they didn't, and this song is the result. "One of these days when you sit by yourself, you'll realize you cant shaft with out someone else"...woooops, Nothing But A Fool is Bernard admitting he was wrong in retrospect. Just brilliant some 30 years later... Thank you New Order.
People who dislike Bernard's lyrics in general just haven't lived long enough to relate to them........ Your analysis is spot on m8. Bernard is one of the most underrated lyricists ever, his work in general is quite underappreciated. I hate how people just dismiss him as "not Ian Curtis" and New Order as "not Joy Division". I mean, both bands are excellent (I actually consider them to be the same band but in different stages). Less poetic but more relatable
I have loved NO for almost 4 decades now. There are songs from the late 80s and early 90s that remind me of very specific times in my life and still fill me with happiness. They just keep refreshing themselves and are one of the few bands who are able to do this consistently. As a man in his 40s at the time, I listened to this song a lot in the summer of 2016 and now it reminds me of that time. There are different theories as to the secret of feeling youthful as you get older. Forget all the nonsense ideas that people have about it, the real reason is New Order!
My wife and myself are travelling from Amsterdam to Paris on wednesday the third of november to see New Order. We're both 50 Up and New Order is part of our history together. Our favorite song?.......Ceremony! I let you know how it was when we get back to Amsterdam!
Is not Ceremony a Joy Division song (written and performed live) then covered by New Order. technically? My favorite from New Order has to be Blue Monday. In the year 2075 it will still be played. Ceremony carries over the sadness of Ian Curtis' demise.
I heard this song for the first time on February 2016. I was travelling from Madrid to México and I listened this song at least 10 times. I love New Order and I have a Gibson SG just like Bernard Sumner.
The epic 'Nothing But a Fool' is the most moving / heartbreaking / 'longing' track on this album. It's my favourite song (at the moment) followed by, in order of preference - The Game, Tutti Fruity, Academic, Plastic, Stray Dog, Superheated, Singularity, Restless, Walking on the Highline, Unlearn This Hatred. Any-either way, I'm totally astounded how complete this album is.
By far, their best song in years, and should've been a single.I have no idea why they release some of their lesser tracks as singles, and leave the real beauties as album tracks. The backing vocals and strings on this are just pure heaven, and have they even played this live yet ?
I saw her face In a dream last night And it hurts so much Yes, it hurts so much She was in my mind As I drank my wine And now I count the costs Of the one I lost She went away To a different place And she was never to return Whatever happened to that girl? Sometimes you don't know what you've got You think you're better than the rest And the world belongs to you But you're nothing but a fool If you can hold her in your hands If you can feel her in your heart Don't ever let her run away Don't ever let her drift away 'Cause it will break you later on When you're left there on your own Don't ever let her slip away Don't ever let her drift away It's a crying shame It caused so much pain It's sad that way It was me that day 'Cause I turned you away
I have been listening to New Order since the golden 80`s and it is amazing that they are still going strong in their music production! This tune is one of the best on this album!
Having followed Bernad et al since the very early days I wasnt looking forward to another album showing how a band slips away. But this album slaps you even if it really hurts when you see people associatjng them with fluff like the Pet Shop Boys - This track has all the trademarks us old timers remember and I'll overlook some of this album just hear them drive this song. Long live the bass
After 7 tracks of Music Complete you would think things couldn't get any better and then this belter starts .... After 35 years New Order can still surprise me I just hope they bring out more music.
Everytime I listen to new order they force me to look at life and the way that I view it, like don't take things for granted and if you do this is what happens.
I've already commented how good this song is,and a lot of that has to do with the backing vocals, and especially poignant now,as it featured the late Denise Johnson's great vocals here - to me,this is her best with New Order
+Andrew Wells peak capitalism talking about music releases in terms of lawsuits like a paralegal AI program from the near-future or s/t I love things that read like chat transcripts from an 80s cyberpunk novella about the exhausting mundanity of dystopian preoccupations Love this track too, for entirely different reasons, it has sold me on the album!
+Andrew Wells Fuck off going on about Hooky, doesn't sound like sunrise to me, move on, Hooky's a grumpy git who's more interested in his past then the future
It's a crying shame It caused so much pain It's sad that way It was me that day 'Cause I turned you away Like I didn't know who you were I was such a fool I was so cruel And the years went by And without a word of lie I still love you But what can I do? Sometimes you don't know what you've got You think you're better than the rest And the world belongs to you But you're nothing but a fool If you can hold her in your hands If you can feel her in your heart Don't ever let her run away Don't ever let her drift away 'Cause it will break you later on When you're left there on your own Don't ever let her slip away Don't ever let her drift away Hold her in your hand Feel her in your heart Don't ever let her drift away, I let her drift away.
Stretching here, but, only time I had chance to see NO was at Jones Beach in 1987 with Echo & Bunnymen and Gene Loves Jezebel. Any chance of an American tour in 2016? And coming to Memphis? (I told you I was stretching!)
3 I saw her face In a dream last night And it hurts so much Yes, it hurts so much She was in my mind As I drank my wine And now I count the costs Of the one I lost She went away To a different place And she was never to return Whatever happened to that girl? I've never been a New Order fan, until hearing this album. Every song is such a tune. It might be time to peruse their back catalogue
Yes please do, ive been listening to every album and single i could find and everything is a complete bop after bop. Got into this band thanks to blue monday and bizarre love triangle
you are so late to the party - but you are gonna love it. Power Corruption and Lies might blow your mind.
Okay I just heard this for the first time and freaking balled on the street trying to contain it. For the people who think this is cheese, I cant imagine youve ever lost anything important. Awesome song. I have been listening to New Order since the 80s. This new album is extraordinary. They've still go it!
+Mary Ann Bashaw Me too, and I've been buying all their new, since then. Never enough!
totally agree..I go back far enough to have enjoyed joy division ..and this just may be my favorite song they ever recorded..and they have many
I have loved NO for almost 4 decades now. There are songs from the late 80s and early 90s that remind me of very specific times in my life and still fill me with happiness. There are different theories as to the secret of feeling youthful as you get older. Forget all the nonsense ideas that people have about it, the real reason is New Order!
Best song in years. Class. Melancholic masterpiece, Barney sounds desperate again.
That's what I was going to say is missing on this album, desperation (and Hook, of course).
My wife and myself are travelling from Amsterdam to Paris on wednesday the third of november to see New Order.
We're both 50 Up and New Order is part of our history together. Our favorite song?.......Ceremony! I let you know how it was when we get back to Amsterdam!
Ceremony is also my favorite. Wife and I are going in January to see New Order in Miami Beach. We are sooooo excited.
I love Temptation. I'd love to know about your trip to Paris and how the concert was.
Is not Ceremony a Joy Division song (written and performed live) then covered by New Order. technically? My favorite from New Order has to be Blue Monday. In the year 2075 it will still be played. Ceremony carries over the sadness of Ian Curtis' demise.
Just for the chorus portions alone, this is my favorite song on the album. Fantastic!
Dave K Those girls absolutely nailed it,and maybe that's why they don't do this live.Such a shame,as it's the best song on the album.
My favourite song, hear the echos off Joy Division in this beautifull track
Damn .. This is amazing .. 30 years a fan and still u produce lyrical magic !! Thank's for keeping it Real 🙏🏽
I heard this song for the first time on February 2016. I was travelling from Madrid to México and I listened this song at least 10 times. I love New Order and I have a Gibson SG just like Bernard Sumner.
Favorite song on the new album.
This track is so good, hope their playing it live, really enjoying this album,
Absolutely unmistakably New Order.....love it
The epic 'Nothing But a Fool' is the most moving / heartbreaking / 'longing' track on this album. 100% agreed, my friend. You've nailed it. 👌🙌
In the past you'd be lucky if the singles they released where even on the album.
Part of the charm is their wilful contrariness
I saw her face
In a dream last night
And it hurts so much
Yes, it hurts so much
She was in my mind
As I drank my wine
And now I count the costs
Of the one I lost
She went away
To a different place
And she was never to return
Whatever happened to that girl?
Sometimes you don't know what you've got
You think you're better than the rest
And the world belongs to you

Don't ever let her run away
Don't ever let her drift away
'Cause it will break you later on
When you're left there on your own
Don't ever let her slip away
Don't ever let her drift away
It's a crying shame
It caused so much pain
It's sad that way
It was me that day
'Cause I turned you away
que grande de memoria... es como que en algunas letras jamas se despegaron de joy division...
Best musicians Manchester ever created. This is good the stuff. Hooky still loves you Bernard.
I have been listening to New Order since the golden 80`s and it is amazing that they are still going strong in their music production! This tune is one of the best on this album!
Ich liebe New Order. One of the best songs.
Love the Enio Morricone style intro and that chorus with those strings, just awesome!
the intro reminds me of the 'don abandons alice' song on 28 weeks later
+Monkey Magic It reminds me of the guitars at the beginning of Unkle's Eye For An Eye.This is my fav song on the whole album.
+Mauricio Noguera true
Great song from the excellent album Music Complete! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Final section really reminds me off the classic "All Day Long" from Brotherhood album.
the female backing vocals reminds me of 'get the message ' ending by Electronic
this track is awesome!!!
Gives me the goosebumps!
Having followed Bernad et al since the very early days I wasnt looking forward to another album showing how a band slips away. I used to think Pet Shop Boys were fluff until I heard Introspective. I recommend you give it a go.
I go all the way back even to joy division days and this is phenomenal work. !!!!
a masterpiece
This is pure love and i love this song & New Order
About the most enjoyable seven minutes and forty three seconds you can ever experience!
yes this is brilliant
After 7 tracks of Music Complete you would think things couldn't get any better and then this belter starts .... After 35 years New Order can still surprise me I just hope they bring out more music.
It is just..., Perfect. Their whole career in a song.
Love this song. Classic New Order, yet modern.
Good song, cool that New Order still cranking out good tunes after all these years.
Achingly beautiful.
Keep it comin' , keep it comin...
Ooohhh ooohh

Beautiful, Preciosa Cancion!!
I need buy that album for my lover
une pincée de Doors, de Joy Division, de pop music..., du très bon New Order ! vivement le prochain album !
How do they produce such great songs after all these years. Heavenly
My favorite song off the new album. Took their sound to some new places while staying in touch with what I love most about NO.
The late great Denise Johnson on bv.best track on the album.
Absolutely brilliant intro leading into a great tune!
Everytime I listen to new order they force me to look at life and the way that I view it, like don't take things for granted and if you do this is what happens.
beautifull
The sons of Manchester with an absolute classic!!
Sou fã desta banda. Que regresso espectacular!!

I LOVE YOU GUYS. ARRIVEDERCI A PRESTO.

This reminds me of the Brotherhood - Low Life era.
that is true.... Broterhood is back again but fresh and superb
Beautiful!!!
It's got real presence ..
I've already commented how good this song is,and a lot of that has to do with the backing vocals, and especially poignant now,as it featured the late Denise Johnson's great vocals here - to me,this is her best with New Order
'nothing but the best'
Unbelievable after how many years? Still the bollocks . Don't ever slip away
Loving this one, soooo good
A+ music... great New Order
I love ❤ this song 🎶 very well done x
06:32
GLORIOSO, PURO NEW ORDER.
half of this album is classic new order - up there with 'here to stay' and 'guilt is a useless emotion' - of the more recent classics
TEMAZOOOO
This is the least embarrassing track on the record and the chorus actually provides the only chills to be found anywhere!
+Andrew Wells LOL! That would open up some can of worms considering all of the bass lines Hooky's admitted to "borrowing"!
+Andrew Wells peak capitalism talking about music releases in terms of lawsuits like a paralegal AI program from the near-future or s/t I love things that read like chat transcripts from an 80s cyberpunk novella about the exhausting mundanity of dystopian preoccupations
Love this track too, for entirely different reasons, it has sold me on the album!
+Andrew Wells is Plenum still going?
+Andrew Wells Fuck off going on about Hooky, doesn't sound like sunrise to me, move on, Hooky's a grumpy git who's more interested in his past then the future
+Andrew Wells I don't think the album's embarrassing at all. Much of it is brilliant. Best record since Technique.
Unbelievable !!!! Lyrics????? You now what they say once a champion you will always be champion
i cant belive
sick tune!!!
ace song album brilliant see you in Nov
Enjoy! :)
+Amanda Laggan I will can't wait its been long time wating
+Gary Witcomb It'll be brilliant show.
You seen them live
Yes, in 2013. Would have liked it to see them promoting this album on this the tour but oh well.
Tinha esquecido como New Order é muito bom
It's a crying shame
It caused so much pain
It's sad that way
It was me that day
'Cause I turned you away
Like I didn't know who you were
I was such a fool
I was so cruel
And the years went by
And without a word of lie
I still love you
But what can I do?
Sometimes you don't know what you've got
You think you're better than the rest
And the world belongs to you
But you're nothing but a fool
If you can hold her in your hands
If you can feel her in your heart
Don't ever let her run away
Don't ever let her drift away
'Cause it will break you later on
When you're left there on your own
Don't ever let her slip away
Don't ever let her drift away
Hold her in your hand
Feel her in your heart
Don't ever let her drift away, I let her drift away.
Everything is fine
Stretching here, but, only time I had chance to see NO was at Jones Beach in 1987 with Echo & Bunnymen and Gene Loves Jezebel. Any chance of an American tour in 2016? And coming to Memphis? (I told you I was stretching!)

RIP Denise Johnson🌹
amazing !! :-)
I love this tune. The verses have exactly the same structure as Joy Division's 24 Hours (unintentional I guess) which makes it beautifully poignant
Muito bom
Hints of Prodigy in the intro.
Sonic Youth guitars?
+Chris Guevara Yo La Tengo setup for that chorus... of course YLT rips off Sonic Youth guitars ;)
+Andrew Wells Damn yes, indeed! Spot on. I even felt a bit of Dinosaur Jr. in there. But Yo La Tengo, absolutely!
+Amanda Laggan
Cherry Chapstick
+Thomas Muller Mmmhmm
+Chris Guevara Smashing Pumpkins.
gosto quando dão uma pegadinha joy division eu amo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~y~
Vou chorar.
Reminded me a bit of w.a.s.p.s the crimson idol lol
The 80's brought me here
RIP Denise
👍👍👍👍👍🎶
I think we've all been here B4
5:01 reminds me of the avatar soundtrack
Intro reminds of this is the end ...
BANDINHA new order eu# iii ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ i ~~~ y ~~~~~~~~~~
