You're constantly taking us to really cool places and providing great tips and instruction... this trip is awesome, for sure. Congratulations on reaching 50k subs. Keep up the great work !!!!!
It’s a great frame… they’ve made some small improvements and updates the cosmetics, but the current version is still great! I definitely hit bigger with the Boom over the speed but felt a little more controlled with the speed
I totally get it. I was actually playing with the Speed prior to the Boom but I have better feel with the Boom for some reason. I did however add weight to the 3 & 9 o’clock positions on my Boom MP frames.
I watched a guy named Brian Battistone use a two handled racket at the national grass courts in Newport five years ago. We both lost to the guy who won the tournament. I remember videotaping his volleyball style switch hands serve! If you’ve never seen it, it’s worthchecking out. I’m pretty sure he was a tour player with a doubles ranking in the top hundred.
Yes, I do remember him and his brother, they were who I was referring to in the video (I think he reached top 100 in doubles)… I wonder if he would’ve got further with a normal frame??
Double handled racket was used by the Battistone brothers. Really weird things to play with as your contact point is changed. I must be one of the few people that actually bought one! I got two shipped over from the US to the UK and still have them. Terrible frames and dense string patterns (18x20 I think). Blackburne rackets were the ones with two sets of strings. I remember seeing these about 25 yrs ago in a gadget shop in a Florida shopping mall. I’ve also got that weird asymmetrical racket as well - bought one of eBay years ago. Frame is very soft, but it’s not as bad to hit with as you’d think!
I love that you’ve got a collection of these quirky rackets! Ralf was telling me that players that hit with the asymmetrical racket actually get on ok with it! I do remember the Battistone brothers using the double handled rackets and was always intrigued by how you’d need to adjust your timing… like anything, I guess you’d get used to it!
Yeah,it’s a bit of a head**** playing with them from the back with one hand, but you can adjust. If you’re playing with two it’s probably ok. Volleys and serving are even harder to get your head around though. I do some coaching part-time and every once in a while i bring them to a lesson for the kids to hit with and their eyes light up with excitement!!
Hi I love your videos! Head is one of my fav brands when I played pro. I wonder if head company will accept a visit for a pro former player to know a little bit of everything. Thanks Tennis Mentor
Great video and congrats on 50k! 🎉❤🎉 Does the new Speed update offer more control or power? The 2022 feels more reliable than the previous version to me and I wonder if the 2024 is adding to that feel?
Nice video as always! I'm not sure I like the current designs of the rackets, the blocky colours are a 'safe choice' offending noone but they lack character and charm IMO. I prefer the YouTek, GrapheneXT, Graphene Touch ranges which had accent colours in addition to the primary colours (YouTek Speed design is my fav of all time). Are the designs picked based on the preference of the design directors or the public's feedback? Seems like we're in the age of simplicity.
Great great video! Haha a question you might get tired of hearing from me, is the new speed coming in all black? Is the new one better than current speed pro?
Haha… you’re like me with the black frames!! For your first question, I can’t confirm or deny (yet) as I will get told off… 👀 The new frame is a subtle improvement from the current frame (it feels great).
Hello and thanks! I'm using the Gravity Pro and was considering going to Yonex and ditching the 18 x 20 pattern but have always loved HEAD products..... is there something in the SPEED line I should check out before leaving the brand?
Great video! as always. Loved the manufacturing video as well! My only... surprise is, I always thought there were women in Austria... (yes, pun intended to Head...)
love the videos! i have 1 question, did you get any information on the extreme? I am terribly debating to wait or get current model or shift. i understand you cant give specifics, but aslittle as yes or no would be great, anything else aloud to be given is much welcomed tho!
I actually like their shoes, but have problems with lining and eylets durability. It seems like durability is their issue when I talk to my friends. Hopefully they can solve it with new releases.
Hey Ashley. Great video with different content.... again! Thanks. It's surprising, but in my opinion, they make a rubbish tennis ball. All that tech .... and such poor balls. Love their racquets and like you I'm going to give their shoes a go. I'm fed up with squeezing my feet into the Asics shoes. Asics for some reason changed to a narrow shoe a while ago and they are less supportive. On the topic of balls why can't these guys produce a specific ball that plays better on a wet/damp court? Often in the UK courts are wet, where balls after 30 mins are fluffed and as heavy as cannon balls. No good for the arm and wrist. 🤷♂
@@TheTennisMentormost rec players are buying a Speed due to DJo. If they would knew the DJo is playing a Radical (tk113 and tk346 molds) most probably they would buy something else. It’s in Head interest not to release DJo frame, they will lose lots of Speed users, but will get new ones, like me (but only a few) who would appreciate the tk346 frame. Same applies for Andy’s frame.
I’ve known Dennis since his Prince days. He’s a great dude that truly cares about putting out great gear. Glad you’ve gotten to spend time with him.
He’s a top guy, it was awesome to spend time with him… super knowledgable and he had some great stories too!!

Very cool insights. Looking forward to the Boom stats. I experienced a similar lift when hitting with it.
I’m reviewing the Speed today and the boom next month! I’ll share the stats in both 😊
Ohhh that tracking thing is amazing. Hoping you share more of that
Keep your eyes peeled… it’s coming today!
Happy New year! Looking forward to next year. Thank you for all the great content.
Happy New Year to you too! It’s been a pleasure, thanks for your support!🙌
I love tennis and this video is full of information and details! Thank you for your videos, it is really appreciated!
My pleasure Karina!
When will the Head Boom MP/Pro come out?
In March
@@TheTennisMentor Do you think that the Head Boom MP/Pro 2024 is better or worse compared to the 2022 version

I just switched to the Boom MP a month or so ago and love it! Curious as to what modifications they’ve made from the first to the second generation.

Thanks for your support! 🙏
Can you ask what exactly Sinner does with his layup with his Tgt 301.4? Thanks!
I’m sadly not there anymore, but leave this in the comments and maybe someone ‘in the know’ will respond!
Thanks Coach Ashley! Very cool and interesting! Congratulations 👏 and happy New Year!
And to you Nathan! 🙌

Thanks for showing us Ashley. Happy New Year and wishing you the best for 2024! 🎉🎊
And to you Javi!!
Really love your channel. I though of an interesting video idea : exploring unique tennis courts around the world. This would be epic.
It’s a cool idea that I’ve thought about… I’d need to earn more money or get a sponsor for that (there are some incredible courts in Italy!
@@TheTennisMentor you'll get there soon with you great work.
Will the black racket on the wall at 7:34 seconds be a new series endorsed by Novak in the future?
Okay but this is cool as!!

This is fantastic work. What string would be recommended for the Radical? I’m currently playing Lynx Tour 17G….Thank you.
OMG racket at 3:23 looks like Elite Pro - my juniors racket (355 Weight Lol) Stil have one of them
I love Head raquets and gear. But living in the United States, there is very little apparel to wear the brand. Can’t find decent t shirts to play in.
Looking at their 2024 catalogue, I’m sure more retailers will start stocking their clothing and footwear too… they’ve definitely levelled up!!
Great video and congrats on 50k! 🎉❤🎉 Does the new Speed update offer more control or power? The 2022 feels more reliable than the previous version to me and I wonder if the 2024 is adding to that feel?
I’d felt that it added more comfort and feel, slightly more ‘plush’ at impact

What Head strings and gauges did you use for the Speed and Boom rackets? Were they the same string and tension for all rackets?
Yes, all string with Lynx Touch at 52lbs

Boom pro is stiff? Or confortable racket?
Wow impressive serve speeds !👏
Did you get many in?? 🤣😂🤭
Haha… They only counted if they were in 😉
HEAD is the best
They really want you back as exclusive player😊
Can you tell them to make the gravity pro in a 98 head size plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😅
I actually like their shoes, but have problems with lining and eylets durability. It seems like durability is their issue when I talk to my friends. Hopefully they can solve it with new releases.
I can’t speak for their long term durability yet but the quality of the 2024 releases (soon) are definitely an improvement!

Will the new speed be a true Djokovic model or just be another paintjob?
Not a true Djok model but an improvement from the current Auxetic model
