That end bit is so good man. Sans being livid about papyrus' death, but choosing not to try and stop it out of apathy is so in-character. He cares alot about what happens in any given run, but his crushing nihilism from his knowedge of resets stops him from ever acting on it. Why bother trying if its all going to be set back to square one eventually?
the thing is.. sans has never been like this in undertale. he doesnt know about resets, he's just very observant (he has some scientific background after all). hes also really caring about his brother and sticks to his promises. dunno if that behaviour can be called nihistic lol
I love this version of Sans, he knows that he can only scare Flowey because if he tried to kill him, it will come back and he knows it will turn into an endless loop, the only hope he has is that the human do something about it, maybe he will even try to help Frisk

I mean, the anomaly WAS Flowey, he’s the type of person who literally cannot be happy, has the Power to SAVE, and has done a ridiculous amount of RESET’s, likely exceeding even speed runners due to him being a character in the game, rather than someone outside it. We definitely inherited that title though.
Yeah, a healthy mixture between “my brother is dead! noooo! (2016 edge cried)” and “i don’t care, ain’t gonna do anything” He cares but his thoughts and feelings are more internal and it just causes him to resign himself to nihilism even more

1. Sans doesn't remember past runs (This is amazing). 2. He can easily kill flowey but believes he has control since before frisk fell flowey was in control. But he doesn't know that Frisk Overpowers floweys Determination (Despite being lower Level than flowey). 3. Sans not doing anything to save papyrus is actually the best thing for him to do. As he said, Flowey knows where he is and sans doesn't. Even if he tried to save Papyrus he might just die in the end too. So it's better for him to do nothing. 4. Now that sans knows that Flowey was the one who was doing things in the past he could warn others of him. But even if he doesn't do anything. Alphys might. She has Camaras everywhere, Flowey has surely been seen by at least one of them, Either the one in the bush, Behind the sentry stations, under the bridge, Behind a tree in Snowdin, etc. Camaras everywhere. Alphys may play a key role in this or maybe the same role as in genocide idk. All I'm saying is that there is potential since Alphys made flowey. 5. Flowey and Frisk (Us) have the same knowledge. Flowey has done the same thing we have. It's just a race to who can get stronger faster. But flowey only has one chance while we have infinite. But if Flowey's determination gets too high then he might gain control of our save file.
I never see anybody point out flowey was made by alphys and they think that flowey just appeared from the ground of golden flowers when he died which made no sense

Thats actually the most thought out au i've seen before. Genuine top tier content. I always forgot the fact that sans knows of resets and been questioning "why won't he just go after us before we kill papyrus, since he definetely knows our intentions" it makes so much sense that he just doesn't bother both to trouble himself less and just knowing he can't do anything but scare the people in control in hopes of the better result. That is devastating.
Sans still does at least stalk/observe u in Geno/runs where Paps is killed. He tries to keep his promise less (because of what u did, which in this timeline at least, Frisk didn't even kill Paps, and Flowey did, and Sans is pretty sure he did, so even less of a reason to stop watching over Frisk then_, sure, but he does still keep them to some extent. Edit: Getting a bit tired of people acting like Sans just deciding to stop watching over you is canon/in character? Because it is not really. Heck, in runs where Paps is killed (except maybe Geno, and even in those runs he still watches over u at least), no one at Grillby's even knows where he is. So Sans just deciding to basically break his promise and sleep all the way until New Home is just, not in character. I am not saying it is terrible or whatever (or that OP video uploader can't do it), but at the same time, I do wish people would stop acting like it is super canon of Sans. But canon Sans goes against it in multiple times.

It's crazy how Sans could literally stop floweys whole massacre since he can't reset anymore. the only way flower could come back is if the player reloads a file where he's still alive, but sans doesn't know that.
I love this take on Sans. He’s pissed at his lack of control, and he’s become apathetic towards trying to change anything. It feels both realistic to the game, and as realistic as it would probably get in real life.
I can tell you understand sans character. He does care and love his bro and doesn't mind stopping it with lines for proof like "why did you kill my brother?" and also doesn't really also mind not stopping it cuz he's aware of resets but don't remember them.
It's both actually, Flowey was the anomaly initially and later Frisk took up his role, sans was already tracking Flowey's saving and loading shenanigans before Frisk fell in the underground

sans assuming flowey is the anomaly because he used to have saves/resets and uses the information he gathered from them is peak tbh, hes connecting the dots of a pattern thats secretly shifted, and because he knows somebody with resets cant lose he doesnt try. it would be really cool if he connects the dots and realizes flowey wouldnt of been hit by the bone and would of killed the human, meaning flowey isnt the one who can save and load.
I love in bonus 1 you can see sans sleeping in that same spot with the caption “you get the feeling he won’t be watching over you anymore”. Sans doesn’t really care about keeping his promise because he’s certain that if you meet with flowey then you’re basically dead, and with the person that promised him to protect you in the first place dying as well… my guy needs a break.

I don't think he does. His evidence of anomalies and timelines jumping around lead him directly to flowey. He doesn't have knowledge of previous runs so, using what he has, flowey would be the obvious culprit. I'm sure he would've been able to figure out that we also killed, but he's caught up with flowey and thinks that's the main issue.

@@ninjawolfgame Also, the only reason Sans attacks you on genocide is because you are literally going to destroy the entire world and every timeline if he doesn't stop you. You can kill all but one froggit, and everyone he knows will be dead, yet he does nothing to retaliate. Retaliation only happens at the last possible moment when it's his only real option. Since Flowey is stealing your kills, you won't reach a high enough LV to be a threat to the timeline, so I don't think Sans actually has enough reasons to stop you.
Flowey said that Sans give him alot of problem, but he said "alot of save" or something, so i think he was able to defeat Sans but at the cost of unable to reach his goal that why he still wait for the other human to come down there.
yeah, Flowey says in New Home that he tried hundreds of ways to get the king to show him the SOULs, but he wouldn’t, getting those human SOULs or at least getting a single human SOUL so he can grab a boss monster’s and get out of the underground is and always has been Flowey’s goal
here's a silly little headcanon of mine (yes, from somebody who literally helps work on these videos): the human has actually committed *30* Genocide routes, not 27. the first 3 ending with the meeting of Chara. the human commits their first genocide. meets Chara. destroys the world. sells their soul. they commit genocide a second time. find out Chara doesn't really like the human's actions. a third time. the human finds out Chara's demeanor towards their actions doesn't change the human remembers that, upon a RESET, the characters have deja vu of the previous timelines. feelings that would bring shivers down their spine upon seeing, interacting with, and ultimately dying to the human. to bring true suffering to the world, they now RESET right before the moment they would normally end their run, in order for the world to not be wiped by Chara's power, and a certain "consequence" of their actions remained.
While that is interesting, I think the only variations i’m going to do is different Chara dialogue if you’ve erased the world before and if you’ve erased the world after UT!DUSTTALE then did a normal geno run
Funny thing is sans can kill flowey and he won't comeback but he doesn't know that because he doesn't know that frisk is the anomaly so even tho his brother is dead he CAN do something about it he just needs to kill flowey ONCE before he reaches the souls

this is why regular dusttale is so much better. people say "no sans wouldnt do that" or "that is out of character" never regarding that sans is just left without a choice.

Doesn't really get DustTale right, since this is basically nothing like DustTale. Flowey is good, Sans I have mixed feelings on - some things I like, some things I don't. I have seen other DustTale takes/versions that also get multiple of these things, if not all these things correct. I am not saying UT!DustTale is terrible, but to say this is the first DustTale take/version to get all of these things right, I think is a bit unfair to other DT takes/versions.

Asgore doesnt since he is still a sweetheart even after murdering children) and a character like sans knows its pointless to try to stop the "anomaly". Flowey is the best candidate since he also has the power to load, save, remembers even true resets and is a MANIAC. More DT = having the power to control the space and time. Flowey revives us everytime we die againts him in his photoshop form. So, if flowey gains more DT, he will be able to put an end to our actions (abusing the timeline with genocides)

I’m not sure if I’m remembering incorrectly, but if this is true then how would flowey know he could easily kill sans if he failed before… unless… he makes frisk do the hard part and comes in at the end?
Flowey is the kind of guy who wouldn’t have given up, and especially wouldn’t have let the world continue on until he had done EVERYTHING He killed sans, it was a massive struggle, but just like we were able to use our knowledge to defeat him, Flowey did the same

This does explain it a little more for me, but I just find it hard to believe Sans would really do absolutely nothing. Flowey literally told him that his brother was in danger. Even if he knew Flowey was the anomaly, maybe you don't have to fight Flowey. Sans has all the tools in his kit to buy papyrus time to run off, or get him out of dodge himself. If he was watching Frisk closely like the promise he made Toriel, he would have found Papyrus to enact such a plan too. And he WOULD act here, he doesn't have a promise to protect Flowey. I dunno, I feel like it couldve been a more interesting angle if the two got out, but I'll continue to enjoy the narrative

Protecting you from Flowey one time doesn’t really feel like fulfilling his promise to “look after the human.” That’s just me though. This is your take and it is still creative and can fit him in certain connotations.

honestly, for all of sans's nihilism, waiting and seeing is probably the best move here. flowey THINKS he's gotten to sans, but at this point sans has already suppressed any negative emotions from papyrus's death and is waiting to see what flowey and chara will do next, possibly so that he knows when he can actually interfere it would be interesting if sans was stalking both the player and flowey throughout the genocide run in this, a neat little call-back to flowey stalking us in pacifist/neutral because now HE'S the one who has to watch our progress
I mean, Sans does already watch us all throughout the game already. Including in the Geno route, and neutral routes where Paps dies. So him stalking us in this, would just be pretty much canon to the game already. But yeah, it would be a cool callback too.
It’s crazy to think about that the outcome of the end really is determined by how determined flowey is to end this all we know that even when he killed every single monster, Sans Jose able to stop him simply because he gave up I’m not sure if I flowey’s gonna give up this time sans is cooked…
(sorry for bad english) I see 2 ways this story end (for now) 1 - frisk/chara will stop they loops of geno after seeing what happen to flowey and try to save as many as possible (and then Meaby survivors plus human vs flowey) 2-2 killer going on race who kill more so one can overpower other (then Meaby somehow human vs flowy and sans if flowey tell comedian about geno loops)
The thing is... If flowey has the same power has ours, Then how could this end? I understand he's doing this out of anger more than hate or something like that. But even if he gets some LV, he will still not be able to save or reset. At least that's how I understand it, I could(And probably am) wrong.
Flowey actually doesn't have the power of saving. Sans just think flowey is the anomaly (I mean he was) and could just reset time. He didnt know that the human now holds the power.
He probably won't though actually (and if he did, it would be a very hard battle for Flowey). Since Flowey can't even save/reset/load currently. Edit: And even when Flowey had the power to reset/save/load Sans gave him a lot of trouble still.
That's the tradegy of it, with Flowey as comparatively weak as he is right now, sans has a very high chance of winning in a fight, especially if it was him and the human vs Flowey He just... doesn't know who truly has the power to save, just that it exists
One minor criticism is that I feel like sans brushes it off too quickly could I suggest a line thats a bit like this? *hope keeping the kid safe was worth it. *cause i couldn’t even do that for my own brother. *…sorry, pap.
Kinda uncanon? There is a reason why flowey IS scared of Sans, and is simple, Sans would fight to kill Flowey from the moment they treat Papyrus infront of him, but i still like the take

We are, we’re able to access save points which makes us still more determined, that’s why Flowey is very much avoiding sans

I’m so glad to hear that, people’s biggest question when Snowdin released was why sans didn’t interfere, and i’m glad I was able to clear that up

I love this take on Sans. He’s pissed at his lack of control, and he’s become apathetic towards trying to change anything. It feels both realistic to the game, and as realistic as it would probably get in real life.

@@randomguy12564 Tbh I picture there being some timelines before this one, that have Flowey trying to act in other ways (telling people to go to other locations, maybe informing sans/asgore earlier, etc) - Stuff that can't be attributed to flowey yet, but this is his "i'm getting desperate" phase
sans assuming flowey is the anomaly because he used to have saves/resets and uses the information he gathered from them is peak tbh, hes connecting the dots of a pattern thats secretly shifted, and because he knows somebody with resets cant lose he doesnt try. it would be really cool if he connects the dots and realizes flowey wouldnt of been hit by the bone and would of killed the human, meaning flowey isnt the one who can save and load.

I love in bonus 1 you can see sans sleeping in that same spot with the caption “you get the feeling he won’t be watching over you anymore”. Sans doesn’t really care about keeping his promise because he’s certain that if you meet with flowey then you’re basically dead, and with the person that promised him to protect you in the first place dying as well… my guy needs a break.
So basically this is the end of sans's part of the story.

lets be honest, Sans also knows that the human is also killing... but frankly he can't even care anymore to stop it. hell, if Flowey is about to kill frisk, he might step in one last time to tell flowey how it really is... that is if he even believes thatll do any good.
I don't think he does. His evidence of anomalies and timelines jumping around lead him directly to flowey. He doesn't have knowledge of previous runs so, using what he has, flowey would be the obvious culprit. I'm sure he would've been able to figure out that we also killed, but he's caught up with flowey and thinks that's the main issue.

@@ninjawolfgame Also, the only reason Sans attacks you on genocide is because you are literally going to destroy the entire world and every timeline if he doesn't stop you. You can kill all but one froggit, and everyone he knows will be dead, yet he does nothing to retaliate. Retaliation only happens at the last possible moment when it's his only real option.
Since Flowey is stealing your kills, you won't reach a high enough LV to be a threat to the timeline, so I don't think Sans actually has enough reasons to stop you.

yeah, Flowey says in New Home that he tried hundreds of ways to get the king to show him the SOULs, but he wouldn’t, getting those human SOULs or at least getting a single human SOUL so he can grab a boss monster’s and get out of the underground is and always has been Flowey’s goal

here's a silly little headcanon of mine (yes, from somebody who literally helps work on these videos):
the human has actually committed *30* Genocide routes, not 27. the first 3 ending with the meeting of Chara.
the human commits their first genocide. meets Chara. destroys the world. sells their soul.
they commit genocide a second time. find out Chara doesn't really like the human's actions.
a third time. the human finds out Chara's demeanor towards their actions doesn't change
the human remembers that, upon a RESET, the characters have deja vu of the previous timelines. feelings that would bring shivers down their spine upon seeing, interacting with, and ultimately dying to the human.
to bring true suffering to the world, they now RESET right before the moment they would normally end their run, in order for the world to not be wiped by Chara's power, and a certain "consequence" of their actions remained.
While that is interesting, I think the only variations i’m going to do is different Chara dialogue if you’ve erased the world before and if you’ve erased the world after UT!DUSTTALE then did a normal geno run

this is why regular dusttale is so much better. people say "no sans wouldnt do that" or "that is out of character" never regarding that sans is just left without a choice.

Doesn't really get DustTale right, since this is basically nothing like DustTale. Flowey is good, Sans I have mixed feelings on - some things I like, some things I don't.
I have seen other DustTale takes/versions that also get multiple of these things, if not all these things correct.
I am not saying UT!DustTale is terrible, but to say this is the first DustTale take/version to get all of these things right, I think is a bit unfair to other DT takes/versions.
@@Dragon_Aoi dusttale is just a character *remembering you're genocides* (LMAO) and getting sick of the abuse of the player, Chara's presence is more noticeable on frisk's face and soul and the character steals the exp to grow stronger and put a stop to it.
Sans makes no sense since he cannot remember resets, we dont know if monsters grow stronger like frisk does (LV and Exp. Asgore doesnt since he is still a sweetheart even after murdering children) and a character like sans knows its pointless to try to stop the "anomaly". Flowey is the best candidate since he also has the power to load, save, remembers even true resets and is a MANIAC.
More DT = having the power to control the space and time. Flowey revives us everytime we die againts him in his photoshop form. So, if flowey gains more DT, he will be able to put an end to our actions (abusing the timeline with genocides)

U can like this take of DT all u want, but it is barely like DT. It doesn't get some of the core aspects done in any form (like, I don't mind DT takes takes being very different from OG DT, but sometimes, like in this case, they become so different, they just aren't really DT anymore to me, and I would prefer if it was just called something else if I am being honest).

Wait, I got a question, I’m not sure if I was fed misinfo or my brain is creating false memories, but didn’t flowey before the human came do a geno run, and kept dying to sans and gave up? I’m not sure if I’m remembering incorrectly, but if this is true then how would flowey know he could easily kill sans if he failed before… unless… he makes frisk do the hard part and comes in at the end?
Flowey is the kind of guy who wouldn’t have given up, and especially wouldn’t have let the world continue on until he had done EVERYTHING
He killed sans, it was a massive struggle, but just like we were able to use our knowledge to defeat him, Flowey did the same

This does explain it a little more for me, but I just find it hard to believe Sans would really do absolutely nothing. Flowey literally told him that his brother was in danger. Even if he knew Flowey was the anomaly, maybe you don't have to fight Flowey. Sans has all the tools in his kit to buy papyrus time to run off, or get him out of dodge himself. If he was watching Frisk closely like the promise he made Toriel, he would have found Papyrus to enact such a plan too. And he WOULD act here, he doesn't have a promise to protect Flowey.
I dunno, I feel like it couldve been a more interesting angle if the two got out, but I'll continue to enjoy the narrative

Protecting you from Flowey one time doesn’t really feel like fulfilling his promise to “look after the human.” That’s just me though. This is your take and it is still creative and can fit him in certain connotations.

honestly, for all of sans's nihilism, waiting and seeing is probably the best move here. flowey THINKS he's gotten to sans, but at this point sans has already suppressed any negative emotions from papyrus's death and is waiting to see what flowey and chara will do next, possibly so that he knows when he can actually interfere
it would be interesting if sans was stalking both the player and flowey throughout the genocide run in this, a neat little call-back to flowey stalking us in pacifist/neutral because now HE'S the one who has to watch our progress
I mean, Sans does already watch us all throughout the game already. Including in the Geno route, and neutral routes where Paps dies. So him stalking us in this, would just be pretty much canon to the game already.
But yeah, it would be a cool callback too.
It’s crazy to think about that the outcome of the end really is determined by how determined flowey is to end this all we know that even when he killed every single monster, Sans Jose able to stop him simply because he gave up I’m not sure if I flowey’s gonna give up this time sans is cooked…

I see 2 ways this story end (for now)
1 - frisk/chara will stop they loops of geno after seeing what happen to flowey and try to save as many as possible (and then Meaby survivors plus human vs flowey)
2-2 killer going on race who kill more so one can overpower other (then Meaby somehow human vs flowy and sans if flowey tell comedian about geno loops)
oh sans... if only you knew, if you kill that flower then you can save the kid but not the timeline, its all useless anyway
It’s not like saving the kid will save anyone else. Remember Frisk’s LV in this series.
The thing is... If flowey has the same power has ours, Then how could this end? I understand he's doing this out of anger more than hate or something like that. But even if he gets some LV, he will still not be able to save or reset. At least that's how I understand it, I could(And probably am) wrong.
Flowey actually doesn't have the power of saving. Sans just think flowey is the anomaly (I mean he was) and could just reset time. He didnt know that the human now holds the power.

That's the tradegy of it, with Flowey as comparatively weak as he is right now, sans has a very high chance of winning in a fight, especially if it was him and the human vs Flowey
