You say we know very little about Mary, yet there are so many books written about her. Just like the "story" of the Annunciation, it is all just pious stories? Careful now: 3:50 "Marry could have said no" If you begin reading the gospel according to St. Luke one of the first things you encounter is the contrast between Mary and Zechariah when the Angel announces them what God will do. Zechariah becomes mute for doubting what the Angel had told him would happen. This Martin priest is not a true Catholic. First he suggests that God would have accepted a "no" from Marry and the next thing you know he is using this to support "pro-choice" sin with the Bible.

I couldn't help in hearing his story about his rosary... His mother told him over and over again to be more careful with those beads, or else he would suffer loss. He didn't listen, and she was right. I feel like there's an ironic connection with this story and his current path. Continue on the current path, despite being rebuked and full of errors... Eventually, it will lead to loss, and it will mean serious loss, both for him and for others.

I think that sometimes we forget that Mary is a Jewish mother...that has a lot more 'baggage' with it than some other mothers...she would be perfectionistic; she would expect a lot of her son; she would not accept anything less that what she was asking for (or she would ask again and again); she would be the head of the household in a feminist culture; she would be devoted to Truth and God and Jewish Law; she would have a highly spiritual nature; she is one of God's chosen people and she is smart as a whip; she would be outspoken (not some Anglican wallflower)...she would study and expect her son to study and study and study--there would be no tolerance for shirking of any kind...there would be strict observance of the Jewish calendar/religious holidays...her Son would be the Best (that is not an opinion to a Jewish mother--that is a Truth)...that would be the Jewish Mary...ask any Jewish mother...they will tell you...dts/usa
