As Father Josiah says. Live and embody the triats that you want in your spouse. Perhaps honesty, lovingness and compassion. You are still so young! Keep going and be close to God 😊 if you aren't already attending, please join your local Orthodox church or similar. Prayers for you! You will do well
Love this sermon, so honest and natural , thank you 🙏 The importance of a church like this to support communities to be strong in karakter and grow . No instant gratification but be persistent and work hard and be dedicated to God . When he says , if you can’t find something ask God and pray , is so true , and it strengthens your fait , amazing . 🕊️🙏✨💕
The Lord is pleased to bestow His good things upon us, as long as we approach with humility, align ourselves with Him, and ask for that which is good. Asking the saints for their prayers and intercessions also avails much when we approach with faith in Christ.
@Poodle_GunWhy don’t you call out sexual sin as much as you can. I agree with you but we can’t change every one. I try to do it as much as I can and people are waking up. It’s clear the ones pushing the agenda are evil. But regardless you can have faith that we have a God of perfect justice and humility 👍
The issue is the average person makes 30-50k a year and houses cost 400k-600k a year, I attended church when I was much older, I was raised by the godless school system, I never thought I'd be married cuz jobs don't pay like they did in 1950s, I don't really wana be a monastic either, I'm fairly content with just going to church when I can, I'm very poor and have medical issues and my face and throat can get swollen and I look very monstrous at times and the church is kinda far and I need to pay for the bus, I've worked since 15 and I'm more concerned about being able to afford to live way more then marriage and I don't think that will ever change for me sadly, I appreciate the church but it should stop capitulating to the godless government, until that happens I don't think much will change anytime soon
I hear you, and I'm sorry that you deal with these issues. I too struggle in finding stillness and love in it all. I hope you find the peace you deserve. Things will be better tomorrow
@JP-ff3vo I'm just critiquing, I'm very grateful and humble for being alive and finding the on true church and having what mercies given to me good and bad, I struggle more with laziness and despondency and I really don't like work, I'm not very good at it nor does it pay enough for the basics but materialism and money isn't everything, I'm nit a fan of people that don't share my morals and worldview so I don't care about love from other, I've been alone my whole life and prefer it but it does have its problems, just like when your not alone and surrounded by others, everything has a trade off, I just wish the churches in America wouldn't kneel to the godless government when they over reach
Wow houses are cheap where you live! I know Orthodox married couples who still live in their parents/in-laws basement because they are still young and don’t have the savings to buy a house. Money is *not* the reason we aren’t married. I too get hit with waves of loneliness, but when the pain subsides I thank God because I know I’m not spiritually ready for the kind of marriage I want yet.
Also, there are people living in poverty in India and Africa who are married and have 8+ kids. We REALLY have no excuse in the west. Money is clearly not the issue. If you were 100% spiritually ready, you wouldn’t have to look far to find a wife. I know young men who are very serious about the faith (and have been for many years) who have parents coming to them after Divine Liturgy to ask him to marry their daughters.
@@nickkerinklio8239exactly in Eastern Europe families prefer their 20 something to marry and have kids and live with them up until they are financially secure It’s best then to date and fall into sexual sin and have babies outside of wedlock
Father John was referring to Saint Catherine the Great Martyr, the one whom the torture device was named after: The Catherine-Wheel. We know from her life that the torturers were not able to use it on her due to an Angel shattering the wheel to pieces.
Needed this as a 23 year old dude. Thank you so much
Pray for me brother! 🙏☦️ That St. Xenia may intercede on both our behalfs!

From the opening of the video I was thinking about this example in the first Father Arseny book - lo & behold! You were leading right into it!
Glory to God that His providence leads us to Him through His faithful servants!
Parying slowly is great advice! :)

Thank you for the video Father but when you refer to Saint Catherine the Great, is she of Alexandria or of Siena? I can not seem to find her!
It is likely Catherine of Alexandria since Catherine of Siena is not canonized in the Orthodox Church.
Father John was referring to Saint Catherine the Great Martyr, the one whom the torture device was named after: The Catherine-Wheel. We know from her life that the torturers were not able to use it on her due to an Angel shattering the wheel to pieces.
