Mariah said the same thing about her debut album. To her the unmastered version of Vision of love and love takes time, etc. sounds better as a demo. She said it sounds more authentic.
This is the way to be as an artist. All these people allowing these labels to control their art to the point they cannot even enjoy making it...need to walk away...downsize...be independent and build your product to be something people want to pay for, tour...but don't be a slave to a label. If everyone starts doing that then the labels will lose power or have to start putting the artist back in the driver seat.
Yeah instead of delegating tasks to their respective specialists, be a jack of all trades and do a poor job with lack of proper execution across multiple professions. Good idea. You gonna train for all these various tasks or do you plan to just wing it?
