  • Drone footage of the remnants of SeaWorld Ohio and Wildwater Kingdom are stunning reminders of what these parks used to be. We placed historical photos on screen and tried to pinpoint the approximate location of former rides and features.

This video made me cry way too hard. I used to spend many summers here as a guest and 4 seasons as an employee, this was one of my favorite jobs, I made so many good friends there.

Of course this brought tears to my eyes. In August 1994 we took our 4 and 6 year old sons to Sea World for a fun day. While taking an ice cream break, my wife told them that our family was expecting a new baby in 6 months. In some ways it feels like only yesterday. Our sons got so very excited that afternoon and in February their baby sister was welcomed home by her two extremely proud big brothers. Awesome memories....

As a kid, every summer we would go to SeaWorld of Ohio back in the 90s. This brought back so many memories.
    I miss you Shamu. ❤

I knew this video would bring tears... I could see my kids playing at wildwater kingdom. And the music didn't help either.. thanks for the memories.

I have some good memories from the water park too. It was sobering to see what it looks like today. It teaches me not to take places for granted. - John

Miss Geauga Lake & Sea World! Used to basically live at both places while growing up! Wish my kids would have had the chance to visit them! I remember my parents saying the same thing about Euclid Beach! I truly hope one day Aurora, Ohio, again, will be called "HOME" to another Amusement Park that will create the same thrills, excitement, and wonderful memories!

Thank you for sharing! I had such good memories there too. This experience taught me not to take places for granted and enjoy what we have in Northeast Ohio. - John

I didn't expect Euclid to be mentioned here. Euclid was a star in amusement park history. So was Geauga. I'll also say, thank you for sharing.

Most my memories as a kid and teen were from the Geauga Lake side. Lots of fun. Especially miss the Big Dipper wooden coaster. It may not have been the tallest or the fastest, but it gave you one hell of a fun ride!

I've never even been to Ohio, but I understand the sentiments exactly and wish this place was still up and running.

So Sad. I'm 44. My family visited Sea World in the early 80's for vacations. I vividly REMEMBER, Shamu stadium, The Clyde and Seamore show and The Water Ski Stadium shows.... I'd pay REAL MONEY to see them again....

I was 100% not sad when Sea World Ohio closed. I remember going there with my family when I was young and being upset for days after because I thought it was “mean to the whales” and sad because “they didn’t have fish to catch and their pools were small”. I knew this was wrong at six. Every time we went back I just wanted to make sure they were OK. The other aspects, the water park, the rides, sad to see them go.
