My aunt talked about some of the medicinals used in those days here in oklahoma. Climate change has eliminated many of these plants. The mulberry trees were great. We had a wild one which was tart abd sweet. Wild animals, poultry, birds liked them too. Mulerry juice could be mixed with elderberry, grape or whatever for a nice drink. Persimmons could be found occasionally and del I cious bread, jams for meat dishes. The wil 1:58 d figs were hard 1:58 to find. But if you could grow them, you had a real prize. Current bushes brought from Eastern okla did fairly well here at one time. I found something that tasted like coconut. It was the devil claw seed. Inside the black seed is a white seed resembling a pine nut seed. I wasca forager growing up. Pecans eere plentiful and many of 5he oldest trees have succumb3d to drought, etc. Many varieties having different tastes. Saffafrass bark was sent from eastern oklahoma and Arkansas. I have to mention sheepshire plant. A tangy delicate plant that i nibbled. Could be used in salads.
Looks good. I like foraging. I bet those would make a great pie. Just remember to leave some fruits for the animals and to seed!

Makes fantastic jelly, we may see how it does in wine next year. Mullberries went crazy too.
