Thank you for sharing this. I was searching for something uplifting to send to my family and friends on Facebook. One hour or so later I came across this....I saw Cliff at the Millenium stadium in Cardiff in Jan 2000 he was wonderful, such an inspirational Christian.
Beautiful arrangement. Sir Cliff prays that God's light will shine on us. A suitable song and prayer considering the current situation . God have mercy on the world. Reveal your everlasting plans for all our lives. Provide and guide us. Amen. Thank you and God bless the admin.
For the record, this recording by Cliff Richard of Graham Kendrick's most famous song was accompanied by the ALL SOULS ORCHESTRA, arranged by Christopher Johnson, and conducted by Noël Tredinnick. This track first appeared on the disc ''The Kendrick Collection'' (Langham Arts label - LANGD-005). The accompaniment was recorded in May 1989 in All Souls, Langham Place, with the All Souls Choir participating. Three weeks later Cliff Richard added his vocal track at the studios of IMAGINATION, then situated of St Martin's Lane in London, engineered and balanced by Graham McCutcheon.
Cliff is a great singer but I don't like the way he pronounces "shine" here, yes it sounds very petty and trivial, I've tried to get over it but it's no good, every time he gets to the chorus I notice it and cringe, sorry folks! Cliff is still a great artist though.
MrBlueSky474 I can't stand how he pronounces "Donna" as "Donner" in his modern renditions of the song (ie 1980s onwards). Absolutely love Cliff, but that grates my ears 😂
I love this song, shine Jesus shine on us!❤✨❤️

Am I the only one who has a wry smile when he sings "From the Shadows into Your radiance..." ;-)

SUCH AN UNDERRATED SONG AND NOT USED TO IT'S FULL POTENTIAL. IT SHOULD BE PROPELLED INTO THE MAINSTREAM.

Sounds like a brass band, but Cliff's voice is emotive & expressive...
