    Hey Finntastics! It might seem there's lots of things to figure out but starting a business is actually quite straightforward once you get the hang of the basics. I couldn't cover everything in this video but I hope it gives you a basic overview. :)

      The American English language is ugly compared to the lovely ethnic Finnish. And the Finn men voice is very clear and deep and has soul , which Americans do not normally have. It is wonderful and different.

    Please excuse this random comment rather out of the blue sky. A physics professor at the South Dakota School of Mines engineering school has been for years enjoying his favorite chocolate from Fazers which he considers a vital health food. His source has been The on line outlet, Finnish Designs, Recently they have dropped the Fazer line and he is distressed. We all enjoy in SD the zFinlandia imported butter which is hands down so superior to the available supermarket house brand, available in house. Cheers from S D the land of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.

      @@AleksiHimself which business form is better from a tax perspective? I'm doing IT consulting and charge by the hour, most brokers in Finland who find these projects ask that you have an Oy. In Poland I only pay 8.5% tax on my earned income through the Polish equivalent of toiminimi. If I start Oy, I have to deduct 20% and then whatever is on my tax card, so for example another 33%. So, at the end of the day I am only getting 47% of what I earned. If I go instead with Toimini do I only deduct the 33% shown on my tax card? If that's the case, isn't toiminimi the better option?

    • @AleksiHimself
      @AleksiHimself  2 роки тому +2

      @@arankin2914 It depends how much you make. With Toiminimi all profit you make is is taxed as your personal income. The more you make, the more you pay in taxes.
      With Oy, yes you pay 20% corporate tax but it allows you to make tax optimizations. For example, you can pay yourself a lower salary as well as dividend with a way lower tax rate. I'm not going to the details as it would be a long write. Oy is a safer option, too, as the liabilities are only limited to the capital invested to the company (in case of bankruptcy).
      Generally speaking, Oy is more profitable when your profits are around 60-100k.
