- Since all of my parts finally came in, I figured I'd go over everything needed to conquer the M50 swap in the e30 for you guys! Figured this will be a useful reference for people!

I really appreciate this vid because I’m doing a m52b25 and most the stuff I knew already about the swap but there were like one or two things that caught my eye like the e30 fuse adapter to the m50/52 wiring harness which will come in handy. I appreciate all of your vids on the swap thank you for these vids !!!!!!

Thanks for the vids. I'm currently doing an m50nv from e34 into my originally m20/g260 e34.
Being that the swap is so incredibly similar in the e30 and e34 this helped confirm I have everything needed.
And I also greatly agree about why using the 260 is a good choice... I don't want to mess around with finding a new driveshaft if I put say a zf310 in it. This way will be cheaper.

Dreams fail, but people tend to motivate each other. Really thankful for your videos, you helped me get the confidence to work on an engine, and because of your videos my mini (@mini_silver50) lives a healthy life, now I have the the skill and confidence to remove and replace injectors, hoping to change the clutch now :D . Right now working on getting rid of my sorrows and buy a 1987 325d 4door from relatives to restore.

Hey man, what would I have to do to fit this swap into an early model e30? I'm worried about the radiator and don't wanna have to cut anything on the frame.
I dont believe anything would be much different aside from youd have to switch over to late model cooling system stuff, or make most of it custom

Depends on how much you know, and if you've done any engine pulls or swaps before

Hello thanks for the info. Am going to attempt to m50 swap my son's car. At the present moment am removing the factory M20B25. what do I do with the wiring harness from the factory Engine? Do I remove the entire harness with the factory M20B25 ? Thanks for the video am going to be using it to helo me with the swap.
M20 harness and ecu are removed and not used

Hello, can i use a getrag transmision BMW E30 318i On a m50 engine block? it fits the same?
I think it will fit but not advised. Weak trans for a m50

How'd it work out using the E34 harness?
A bit short for connecting to ecu in the glove, ecu has to just lay in the glovebox. And the covers are a bit big but otherwise it works. E36 would be better

how did you wire the m20 starter to the m50 harness?
Same exact connections
I have e34 bushings and e36 arms
The engine is too close to the radiator i cant fit any fan for cooling can you help any ideas ??
E34 bushings don't work as far as I know

@@hatuqay you need to use e36 arms and condor custom 24v swap mounts. Or e28 535 mounts
the e28 mounts are exactly the same as the m20 mounts fyi, even if the parts number are different but dimesionally they're the same
@@arefremy1602 but theres gotta be a reason people dont use stock e30 mounts when 24v swapping. Stud location maybe?
