- From the beginning of the project, it was designed to be shot down, and although it was treated in a way that was not typical for a leading mobile suit in the play, it is a machine that boasts very good performance. Gundam W has a lot of foreshadowing in the story, and the more you learn about it, the more interesting it becomes.
The story about adjusting the output of the buster rifle is described on Pixiv Encyclopedia and Nico Nico pedia as being "able to fire more than three shots by adjusting the output." The fact that the same thing is written on two different sites makes me think that there must be a source document somewhere, but I couldn't find it. The fact that it's not mentioned in the official literature suggests that it may have been added by Super Robot.

なお1話ではプラモの作りが完璧なのにギャンに負ける始末…
引き上げたと思ったら魚雷でまた海底に落とされたりビルゴ隊に膝が損傷しそのまま放棄されてリーブラの主砲でほぼ大破になるウイングガンダムものすごい不遇w
むしろ、ヒイロはウイングガンダムよりリーオーの方が愛着ある
フェリーニのウィングに対する愛が男の子が小さい頃見ただろう夢のままなのが、またいいですよね！

主人公以外にも乗られるガンダム、自爆するガンダム、捨てられるガンダム、それがウィングよね。
尚ある実写版ガンダムではウイング以上に不遇な扱いを受ける。
主役の機体でありながらあれだけ主人公に愛着されなかった悲劇の機体だと当時は、思いました。

Never know that the Buster Rifle output can be adjusted, and I like that the editing has improved by a lot, seeing that you can change the Beam Color of Wing and Wing Zero Buster Rifle's and match the song with Wing Gundam Face Close-Up at 0.00 to 0.06 !

今までのガンダム作品の中では、初の主人公からの不遇の機体として扱われたり乗り捨てられたりするほどの機体でもありガンダムとは呼ばれませんでしたよねー。丁度、手元にウイングガンダムの取説とバイブルとホビージャパーンがあるので開発経緯を見返すとスノーホワイトがあっての流れですよねー

ガンダムWのオープニングムービーの変型シーンはかなり凄かった印象がありましたね😃当時は手書きだった点を考えたら滑らかにバード形態からMS形態に変型するシーンを書いてたアニメーターの凄さが良く分かりました💦

そのくせ他4機のパイロットはシリーズ全体でもかなりの愛着持ちという……いやトロワは違うか
最終話までサブタイをヒイロが読み上げる時にウイングゼロに変わることなく翼を広げているシーンは差し替えが面倒だったのかもしれなかったけど逆に個人的には乗り換えてからあまり出てこないウイングガンダムが見られてよかったと思う

バード形態での飛行中に叩き落とされても、機首部分から墜落、滑りながらの変形、何事もなかったかのようにライフル発射、で戦闘続行と今考えると突っ込み所が多いガンダム。Wのガンダムはそういうのが多い。個人的には好きな機体(後ヘビーアームズ)。

The Wing Gundam always has been and always will be my favorite Gundam. Its a shame it never got any battles to really show its performance to the fullest. It would make sense that the Wing Gundam's Buster rifle most likely has a way its power output can be adjusted. But if used at full power it only can fire 3 shots. Especially if you consider the time frame and how long some battles are implied to have taken.
Where it'll show a battle start in the day and end in the night. A good example is the one where it seemed the Wing Gundam was firing shots in a lower power mode. Considering after they killed the leaders of peace talks the show ended with them in the day time. And when it comes back they're still fighting and now its dead of night and Heero is still firing away. So I would assume that it has some form of adjustment but max power is limited to 3.
Another thing to note in the Manga. Is that the Drei Zwerg was so powerful... a single shot was enough to eclipse the mountains on the island of the sanc kingdom... tear through the entire fleet of carriers on the ground AND in the air. As well as having enough power and strength to break completely through to what appears to be stratosphere or beyond. The fact the Rifle held together and was able to withstand that power is impressive. More so that with such firepower the Wing Gundam showed no signs of strain from using a shot that powerful. And if thats an incomplete Drei Zwerg, one would think with a properly built one it would become even stronger.
Not to mention another fact is that unlike the other 4 Gundams in Wing... the Wing Gundam was the only suit to never have the "Need" for an upgrade like the Deathscythe, Altron or Sandrock. Implying that the suit was plenty strong enough on its own. Even being able to tango with Virgo suits on its own before getting damaged.
Also while its not the most powerful... I will say Wing Gundam has got to be one of the most durable and abused Gundams in any series. It gets damaged... sunk into the ocean at who know's what depths and pressures immediately after coming through the heat of the atmosphere....Brought to the surface only for Heero to blast it to hell back into the ocean once again..... then its revived/repaired.... tears through oz a lot off screen from what we gather... Gets self destructed, then rebuilt again.... Put under water again for Zech's to hide it from OZ while they blew up a fake.... Fought Oz again before Heero left to space, sunk BACK underwater AGAIN in water thats however deep (Deep enough to where Oz and the alliance couldn't find it easily), then fought in Sanc Kingdom war.... damaged and abandoned again. And I would assume the Virgo's attack protocol meaning it probably got really jacked up off screen considering they were attacking it before Heero left it. Then repaired/rebuilt once more and then sent to space again by Lady Une who tanked a Colony beam enough to wipe an entire island nation off the map.
All of this and it STILL Protected its pilot and kept surviving enough to be revived every single time. And if we count Frozen Teardrops it was apparently rebuilt AGAIN in the future and made even more o.p than ever.
The Wing Gundam is literally "I will not die" and "What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger" personified. No matter how you tear it apart, blow it up or destroy it, it just keeps finding a way to come back.
At this point it should be called "Zombie" Gundam.
Still in the end of the day its also quite Thematic as well. The Wing Gundam was always being destroyed.... but kept coming back from "Death" time and time again to fulfill its mission.
While its Pilot Heero was always trying to find a way TO die but could never succeed. Being saved or hesitating time and time again.. something always keeping him alive.
One wanted death and could never achieve it... being denied it at every turn until he decided in the end he wanted to live. The suit constantly "Dying" but always finding its way to pull itself back together and ending up back on the battle field. In a way it can also represent Heero's emotional state...
The suit falling fighting but falling into the sea at the beginning... Heero's wish to die and is in a see of self loathing, despair and well depression in a way. At the peak of them holding the colonies hostage... one could say Heero felt a sense of failure and was clearly willing to die to keep the enemy from getting their secrets. Terminating the suit along with himself. The suit destruction representing the immense feeling of failure and giving everything up. So on and so on....
I know thats most likely looking to deep but it was something I thought about in times passing.
Also a side note.... we know Gundam 00 has a lot of Similarities to Wing in a lot of ways. Even down to its pilots and their personalities. If you take the suits of Season 1 and mesh them all together you get the "Wing Gundam".
Dynames = Wing Gundam long rifle and incredible targeting system. Allowing it to shoot things over long distances with immense precision.
Kyrio's = Most obvious the transformation mechanic, in atmospheric flight, Light weight and high mobility
Exia = The incredible close range performance of the suit even in close range and its ability to keep up with inhuman reaction times.
Virtue = BIG GUNS GO BURRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Lol But yes its heavy fire power like the Buster Rifle as well as its super durable armor.
Its like taking the core of the Wing Gundam and breaking it down into 4 parts.
Still the suit is an amazing suit that I feel definitely doesn't get the love it deserves. Its kinda the forgotten butt of the joke in the Gundam series since it never got to really show its true worth. Regardless I feel that the Wing Gundam is probably one of the most IMPORTANT Gundams in the entire Gundam Franchise.
For the simple fact it was the FIRST Gundam a large majority of the world saw outside of Japan. Without the Wing Gundam... that music and that first scene we see the suit. A LOT Of Gundam fans today wouldn't be Gundam fans or even anime fans at all. Wing Gundam and the series inspired a lot of people.
In a way the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam is global equivalent of the Original RX-78 Gundam. As both inspired Generations of fans to get into the Gundam Franchise.
Gundam Wing may have its flaws even as my favorite series. But like the Wing Gundam... it did the job of really boosting and growing the Gundam Fanbase. And that is one of the biggest wins the series and the Wing Gundam suit has in my eyes.

威力的にも戦略兵器みたいなものですし、本来基地攻撃用とかでMSに使うこと考えてなかったかも？

戦争を左右する武器は悪魔でパイロットであるというところにフォーカスを置いた点で、ガンダムウイングはかなり好き。コロニーという弱い立場から戦いを挑んでいるから、軍事工作員によるゲリラ戦法なんだよな。

放映時のヒイロは最初、バスターライフルをぶっ放して敵を殲滅した後高笑いする危ないヤツのイメージがあった。
そして私服、サウスキングダムの制服等やたらと半ズボン姿の多く、ショタが喜ぶサービスが多かったな。
トロアもサーカスや敵に近づく時空中一回転３回ひねりをかます。
EWではヘビーアームズでかましてから、ガトリング砲をぶっ放していた。
かなりクセが強い作品やったw

撃ち落とされるガンダムがコンセプトとは知りませんでした(笑)思い返してみれば確かに大破しまくりでしたものね(笑)不憫だ、ウイング(ﾉД`)ｼｸｼｸ
どこか仮面舞踏会を彷彿とさせるような、何かを隠し取り繕うキャラの振る舞いが好きでした。特に第一話最後のヒイロのセリフは初見では残酷な宣告ですが、なぜそう囁くに至ったのかを劇中を通して少しずつ知ることでヒイロの優しさに触れ、それがまたこの作品の面白さのひとつだと思いました。
次回の動画も楽しみにしています😊
