Thank you so much for this series. I spent most of my free time this week practicing the eyes, nose, and mouth. I've leveled up!

the nose is one of the more challenging parts for me, even though it seems so simple. The mouth is probably the most challenging so I'm looking forward to that one :).

I’d say he’s very practiced and skilled in this craft. Saying gifted or talented implies that this didn’t take an immense amount of learning and practice.

@@_soulcraft_ I think you misunderstood him. The artist knew what he was talking about. Some of the most greatest artists are born with a gift practice their skills to become great.

@@danielmilliken8903 I am an accomplished and internationally awarded artist and I don’t believe in “gifts” or “talent” …I believing in learning and practice because I’ve gone through my 10,000 hours, so I’m speaking from experience, not some vague opinion. People can have affinities and find joy in being creative which would inspire the learning and practice that it takes to master an art form. I’m just saying his focus and dedication is what you’re seeing, it’s not some mystical gift.

@@AlecLaCasseArtI’ve also just received my first order of bass wood…I tried a year ago with wood and branches I picked up from the woods but found it relatively frustrating with knots and such. I’ve been waiting to try proper carving wood. 🤓

Thanks for the video. You do a great job explaining what you are doing throughout the process.
If you could talk a little bit louder that would be great.

OK... I give... Where did the 1.5" measurement from the brow to the chin come from?? Was it because you were using an 1.5" knife??... No really... Why not 1.25" or 1.625"... I know you didn't pick it because of your knife...

Using the loomis method you can divide the face up into 3 sections! Just so happen to be around 1.5 inches!
