Another great classic movie on UA-cam, thanks Cult Cinema Classics! Is it just me or does it seem like there are more great classic movies on UA-cam than are on Turner Classic Movies, American Movie Classics, or other like minded channels. I keep seeing really great classic movies I've never seen before on UA-cam, but unlike those channels you don't have to pay a monthly membership, awesome!
It's not just you... TCM has sold us out. TV Land too. Motion pictures back in the old days told a story, they were not required to be politically correct. Enter the greedy Cable Companies...who make us bow before them. They bleed us dry charging more and more for movies we used to watch for FREE! It's a racket! It's a damn shame... this will not last... the camels back will break soon! And this control over our minds will be over!
Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) deserves a mention.
We frequently drive by her resting place in Siler City NC. You can see her from the highway. People leave pickles.
Excellent movie! Jack Palance is so different from what most of us know him from his late years.
May all of you that were a part of this motion picture, whether they were in front of the camera or behind the scenes. May you all rest in peace. Thank you so much....
Not bad at all, suspense is well maintained throughtout the movie, Palance is convincing. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, JP as a gentleman. Miss him.
Palance is moving me to tears. I never knew, he was THAT sensitive an actor . Something tells me, that he was a natural born "method" actor.
Welcome back, CCC! Will be watching. 😀 Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Exelente Jack Palance!!! Desde tan joven ya era exelente actor.... y su fisique du rol se adaptaba a muchos personajes.... muy buena.
Is this based on Hitchcock's The Lodger? Love that!!
Similar I think. Based on suspicions over an American doctor staying in London at the time of the murders.
Excellent drama.
what an extraordinary countenance
Ostrich feathers makes you a target.
I didn't recognize her by her appearance, but when I heard her voice, I knew she was Aunt Bee, from Mayberry all the way to London, England. Whoda thunk! 🎦
First class.
The fact that Jack the Ripper was never identified, I was disappointed with how it turned out/ended. He could have ended up a good guy.
Mulțumesc!
This is a remake of an old Hitchcock movie “The Lodger”.
Shhh! Don't say anything but I'm hiding in Helen's attic right now, waiting to surprise her! 😜
🎉❤❤🎃happy Halloween
Happy Halloween 🎃
Disney celebrates fake anniversaries all the time! ... The 40th anniversary of pulling Song of the South off the shelves!"😅
I've seen that film, it's not racist in the slightest. No more than Huckleberry Finn.
It's not even set on a slave plantation, it's set in the reconstruction era. Disney have lost the plot.
I've not seen an actual film that comes close to realistically potraying the murders, they are mostly highly fictionalised, especially the 1988 and 2001 films. The PC game Sherlock Holmes v Jack the Ripper os probably the closest I've seen to follow the actual murders accurately and give a plausible suspect at the end.
This has the exact same score as The Lodger from 1944

Why does the dog like him so much ?
Strange, usually...dogs have sixth sense if a person is a murderer.🤔
Was he a butcher and the dog smelled the butcher shop?
Unsolved mystery
It’s. Halloween.happy.Jack
My late father spoilt any movie I watched! He said QUOTE THERE IS NO MUSIC IN REAL LIFE! 😂😂 HE ALSO USED TO SAY HORROR MOVIES R A LOAD OF SHIT; THERE ARE CAMERA MEN THERE!😅😅 4:23
06:30 Aunt Bee !!
the colour virson is not so good..
was it aaron kosminski or tumblety
Probably Aaron Kosminski, or possibly a man called Nathan Kaminsky, the police mixed up his last name, in the asylum he was given the name David Cohen.
a better movie this than from hell
The original film “The Lodger”, directed by the master Alfred Hitchcock was far superior.
The actor playing the lodger was far creepier and the Victorian suspense far more creepy.
This is a good movie, but one wonders why did they bother as it had already been portrayed by the best of the best.
Jack Palance was a great actor and made the perfect screen villain, but sadly he was put in a role in which he could not out perform the previous incarnation of Jack.
I guess it’s still worth a watch when we are modern day film efforts, but I personally was bored as soon as I recognised the plot and it’s pointless remake. 😢
