Only ten! If she’s a 100% indoor cat, she’s got lots of years left to go. Maybe get her a cat so she’s not so lonely when you’re gone. Her weight is hard on her tiny toes when she jumps down from something. Thank you for taking good care of her. Cats are marvelous people. 🐈
She hit the jackpot when you and your husband adopted her! Such kind and loving people. I'm glad she got her happy forever home. Senior cats are awesome!
**THANK YOU, HEAVENLY FATHER, FOR SENDING THE "RIGHT" PEOPLE TO ADOPT THIS BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS CAT. AND THUS, PROVIDING HER FOREVER HOME!! WHERE SHE WILL BE CARED FOR, LOVED + CHERISHED, FOR THE REST OF HER PRECIOUS PRECIOUS LIFE!!**
I am so VERY THANKFUL for owning my own house and mortgage paid. Our two cats were rescued from the vet who found them on the road in a box. There is absolutely no way we could or would part with them. We would rather die than to be without them.
Thank you for saving Sophia! She was the right cat at the right time! She's a sweetheart who's got so much love to give. Sophia's crying when you leave her alone is because she's afraid of being abandoned again. You're giving her the life and the love she deserves and vice versa! 😇😇😇🐈🐾💗
I adopted a 10 year old cat , who had been left when his person moved to Europe, and the person who was supposed to take him never came to get him. I'd never had a cat either, but he was the most amazing empathic boy. I changed his name to Owen, and he lived an amazing life till he was TWENTY ONE. Adopting a senior, cat or dog, is such an honor. You got a good kitty!!
My FAVORITE cat lived to be over 22 years old and in my opinion iif you get her weight down a bit she will be more active and also live to fine old age. At LEAST 18 years old. Thank you for adopting that little angel because she must have been devastated to be given up like that. I can't imagine leaving a FAMILY MEMBER like that.
Absolutely. I want to go slow travel for couple of years overseas.....but I can't because I have to take care of my furry children until I can have a family member is ready to take care of them.
Sophia! Beautiful name, beautiful cat. Thank you, Helen, and to your fine husband, for adopting a senior cat abandoned by stupid people. Sophia is a stunner. Love is all that matters.
Cats are very empathetic. Even cats that seem independent are still empathic to humans in need. Sophia is absolutely beautiful! I am so happy you chose her.💜 She will teach you many lovely things about cats! 🧡💜🥰✌️
Thank you for giving Sophia a home. Why on earth would someone abandon a pet they'd had for nearly 10 years. That's awful. Thank goodness for good people like you & your husband. Thank you.
There are so many people losing their homes because of rent increases. In Los Angeles, rentals doubled, sometimes more. People have to make these kinds of choices. The shelters here are in a crisis due to this. It's sad.
Precious Sophi😍 I got my cat at 4 weeks. She had been living under a dumpster and eating toys and whatever fell out if dumpster. Kids were poking sticks at her and scaring her😭! A veterinarian s child chased the kids away and then she took her to her mom. She's my baby now🤗😇😍
Thank you for adopting Sophia! She really needed you. Cats can be very affectionate. Your husband is a sweetie too! I think men who love cats are special. By the way she is beautiful! Enjoy her, she obviously is grateful!
Delighted how you provided her with a wonderfully loving home after she was abandoned. That must have left a big print on her emotionally, yet she was able to open up her heart and take love in anew. Lovely chunky girl she is 🥰
My cat is 9 years old "Angel" i could never, ever anandon her...the LOVE is sooo pure...God blesss you for saving her...& giving her a loving home...LOVE ❤❤❤
The love you give cats, they will give back to you tenfold. ❤Anyone who has ever had a cat & bonded with them can affirm this. I have 2 beautiful green-eyed, black furry rescue cats. And whenever I cry, Gracie (who I adopted first) will come up to me & crawl up onto my lap/chest & snuggle & purr & lick my ears 🥹 I’m so happy to hear that you’ve given Sophia a caring loving home, and that she has brought so much joy to your lives in return - God bless you all❣️🥰
What a sweetheart she is! So are Helen and her husband. Sophia obviously has a lot of love to give them and she’s getting it back in spades. I hope she lives a long life them.
Kudos to the family for adopting a senior cat. We'll do that one day too. For now, we have a 19 year old cat that we rescued from a highway (literally running under vehicles in stop and go traffic) when she was 6 weeks old. She's an integral part of our lives.
Thank you for adopting her. Some cats are extremely affectionate and almost every cat I have ever had is right there near you when your not feeling well, more so than my dogs.
So glad you adopted Sophia. Adopting a young kitten does not guarantee a long life. We just lost our baby and he was not even two. I pray she lives a long (which I know will be happy) life with you and your husband. We have had cats that were approaching 20 lbs and lived very long lives (19 years old). Looks like she is a very affectionate girl and if she comforts you when you are upset you have a real love angel! Thanks again for giving her a chance and a wonderful home.
I'm so thankful they adopted her. She must have been so confused when she was left at the shelter. Now she's happy again with people who love her so much ❤
God bless you for adopting her. My heart breaks for any pet that is abandoned by their people. Ive never understood why people say we had to move and couldn’t take my pet. My thoughts are move where you can take pet with you. Its an excuse. It makes me livid. Thank you for opening your hearts and home for that sweet baby.
Thank you, so much for adopting an older cat. I've always been miffed that after 6 they consider cats to be senior. I have a darling sweet American Shorthair who is 16 and doing great. A month or two ago she looked about 8, but we've recently been through some trauma so she's lost some weight. Her fur is standing up a bit too. I've had 3 cats that have all lived past 17; so you have many more years with your precious girl.
I just can't imagine the heartache and confusion she must of endured when her family abandoned her. Thank you for taking her in healing her heart and loving her.
My girl was dumped at the humane society too. What was worse is that they kept her sister (litter mate) and the dog. They’d had she and her sister since they were kittens. She doesn’t like being picked up, so I suspect they got rid of her when they had to move because they didn’t think she was very “loving”. This was a couple of months into the pandemic. Their loss is our gain. She purrs like an outboard motor, loves having her belly rubbed, loves to be brushed, makes all the biscuits and will take over my lap for hours. They missed out on all of the love she has to give.
@@ItsJustLisa It could be that they could only have 2 pets though where they moved to, we don't know what their circumstances were, so we can't judge them
She is beautiful and very sweet...thank you for giving this senior a good home...they ARE overlooked in the shelter....I adopted a 17 year old cat a while back and I am so glad that I did. I can't imagine someone just dumping this sweet soul at a city shelter b/c its obvious she has never been on her own.
She's so beautiful! Thank you sooooo much for giving her a loving home where she can feel loved, safe and needed. Senior cats are wonderful and she will continue to bring you lots of joy!

Thank you for being such a loving people. I had a cat that when I was going through divorce and lost my mom, I was crying a lot. She would come and sit on my neck or chest and licked my face and tears. She too was from shelter.
At least they didnt just let her out the car or leave her at the old house and leave. Plenty of people just abandon animal, there was a camera set up in a dog dumb area in Texas. The camera captured so many cars in the dog dumb area. I am thankful they left the kitty in the shelter.
It is nuts down there! We adopted our dog from either TX or OK. There is an amazingn place in Justin. Apollo Resuce. Lee Asher got a truckload of dogs from them a month or so ago.
Thank you for adopting this beautiful lady. She may be 10, but that's not old for cats. Hopefully, you'll be together for another 8 years, if not longer. As you've already seen, cats are very intuitive and will comfort you if you're not well or upset. I had one that would paw my chin and reach up to lick my tears and purr to help me relax. She would curl up on my lap and hold my hand in place so that I would scratch/rub her belly, which is also a great way to relax. As your bond with her grows, you will discover what she likes, and she you. Every cat has its own personality, just like dogs, and some will even talk and hold a conversation with you. Enjoy this precious girl, and I hope you have many happy years together. ❤🐈🐈⬛

The cat was not dumped like garbage! She was taken to the shelter which hopefully could place her in a good home. Why do we need to assign negative intent to someone we don’t know?
Sophia is a beautiful lady❤. We have had rescue cats for 27 years and each one has been different but so loving in their own way. If we go out we leave the radio on and even a lamp on a darker day. It's a distraction and a comfort for the little ones. Also, perhaps leave a tee shirt (you have worn). Again this is comforting for Sophia. Thank you for giving an older cat a loving home. She will return this kind gesture every day. ❤
thank you for adopting sweet Sophia. I have had several cats and they have all been affectionate to us. sorry to hear about the passing of your precious pup.
Cats are very affectionate and can read their human pet. Cat mom for all my life. Whoever told this woman cats aren't affectionate probable told her they're stupid too. They're smart, funny, affectionate, loving, crazy, and can be a best friend. I recommend everyone have more than one for the fun and laughter they provide.
Sweet couple and such a beautiful kitty. People don't give cats enough credit. They're very intuitive. One of mine NEVER sleeps with me except when I'm ill or if I'm just feeling "off". Thank you for giving Sophia a home. Why on earth would someone abandon a pet they'd had for nearly 10 years. That's awful. Thank goodness for good people like you & your husband. Thank you.
I wouldn't... but thats me.
A lot of people have lost their homes that had adjustable mortgages, interest rates killed them.
Another issue is very elderly or very sick people can't take care of their pets anymore. Or worse, the human has died. So, where do the pets go???
There are so many people losing their homes because of rent increases. In Los Angeles, rentals doubled, sometimes more. People have to make these kinds of choices. The shelters here are in a crisis due to this. It's sad.
Landlords who don't allow cats is a big reason.... its terrible when people have to chose between housing and their pets.

You don't just abandon pets, they're part of your family!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
FYI: They didn't 'abandon' the cat. They left it at a shelter because they could no longer take care of it. That is not abandonment.
I completely agree with you! @charlesbowers8112
They didn’t abandon her, they had nowhere else to go and were forced to give her up.
They are our babies! People are the worst, until you come across people like us.
God bless you for adopting her. My heart breaks for any pet that is abandoned by their people. Ive never understood why people say we had to move and couldn’t take my pet.
