mate, you deserve a medal! You saved me so much time... I spent hours stuck on this from watching other video tutorials which over complicated this WAAAAAY too much. Really appreciate your video.
I am a proffessional Luthier and have been using Fusion for design/production for about three years and I have to say your whole design process makes me look like I was working in the dark ages. ... Absolutley brilliant, i will be revising my whole process after watching your videos, Thankyou Ray Palfray Guitars
Superb! This was really intuitive, and you made it look simple. Kudos to you for figuring it out, and thank you for sharing!! You’ve got yourself a new subscriber!
Thankyou for all of your hard work here Brad, I have downloaded it so when I've worked out how get your Guitar Engine into 360 I feel reasonably confident I could achieve this. I'm 3/4 of the way through my CNC build so pretty excited to get going👍🏼
This is the best heel transition on youtube. But what is the process if you wanted the fretboard to be a separate body from the neck? I'm sure there is something that could have been done upstream to keep the fretboard separate. Killer tutorial!
Brad, thank you for the incredible instruction video.. I make cigar box guitars.. I know... But I am using your videos to fabricate the neck on my first CNC Cigar Box Neck.. I am doing it instep with your video.. Thanks a bunch ... Pat
Great Video! 15:09 If you cannot draw 3D splines go to Preferences - Design - check "Allow 3D Sketching of Splines and lines". I had this problem and thought I might as well share it. Cheerio
I notice that your updated version of this design add on automatically puts in the neck profile. My question is suppose I want the fretboard to overhang the neck by .25" how do I do that?
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, one question that I have is would this neck be able to be machined out as a two piece with a truss rod slot ? (I guess I mean can fretboard be removed to leave just the neck)
Cheers for the videos! I'm abit stuck i can't get my software to delete interior sides it just deleted the whole object instead of one wall, also when making the curve at the bottom with the projected lines it won't let me stitch the peices together! Thanks for your help!
Great video Brad! Question....I'm stuck when I try to create the first fit spline from the heel to neckshaft ....right at the 15:16 mark in the video where you say "let's go down to this one" ....I don't have a point there. So my spline won't snap to it. Help!
When you set the splines starting at the heel outer corner fusion360 will NOT let me set that spline. The ones from point to point for the projection? No problem. But neither of the outer will snap and attach? why?
So, maybe I missed it, or it wasn't said, but there is a button on the panel called 3D Sketch. It wasn't enabled. once I enabled it, I was able to connect the points on the hell as well as the points on the rails for the 1st Fret to headstock transition. In fact, the ease of doing so once I clicked that button made me want to punch myself in the face for how much time I wasted trying to get it right. Thanks, this tutorial is great.

Agreed. Its hard to appreciate these techniques for what they are until you've used approaches that end up with rough toolpaths.

Gonna try using the loft function like this tonight. It could save me a lot of sanding. Kudos!
Great videos!! Thanks for the help and information!
Super helpful tutorial.
Very useful, thanks
Your plug-in and this video has completely blown my mind. Thank you so much for all your hard work! This is just incredible.
I'm happy to hear that. Hopefully, it assists you on your journey!
Watching this based on your plug on your podcast! This is really fantastic.

This is where I'm stuck. Where can I select that setting? Thanks for the help.
Never mind, I just found the preferences section. Good to know haha... Thanks again.
Thank you!
Top comment here! Thank you fine sir.

Great video! What computer and system do you run fusion on?
at 10:50 it won't let me create the curve. I had to create the splines middle point in mid air

go to preferences, design, check allow 3d sketching of splines and lines
@@Notjay95 thanks!
@@Notjay95 You just made my day...!
Great video! Is the neck profile at the 12th fret accidentally drawn at the 11th fret?
I do believe I did good the 12th fret! Oops!

My peice will not offset faces it jumps to extrude. Any thoughts
Try highlighting your surface, then push Q. that follows your geometry, typically better than extrusions.
