@@xXCailianXx I tend to mostly only enjoy it in games that are only part RPG (and usually secondarily), such as the Diablo series, or the Zelda series, or Hades. I enjoy turn-based games that add a timing or action-based element, such as the systems in Legend of Dragoon or Super Mario RPG, or ones that require strategic positioning such as the Hyperdimension Neptunia, but that's about it. I love the Final Fantasy 7 Remake *except* for the combat, which practically puts me to sleep every time I have to slog through more than a couple of fights; I think Final Fantasy 15 is the *best* implementation of action-based combat in a Final Fantasy game so far, and even that I find extremely mid. And I finally tried the Tales series after much recommendation (started with Berseria), and almost immediately dropped it because I absolutely *loathed* the combat. But for my money, until these games start delivering action combat that is as satisfying and fluid as the combat in full-fledged action games, then I will continue to prefer Persona 5-style turn-based systems over the weak half-measure action-based systems we've been getting in RPGs for awhile now. Just so you know, Cygames did actually confirm that the story in Relink is gonna be a story in it's own skydom (think of skydoms as kingdoms, usually separated from other skydoms by walls of storm clouds). This skydom is Zega and it's gonna be a completely new story. However, from what we understand, it's not gonna be an actual cannonical story. We won't be playing through the story from the gacha though, that's been confirmed.

Mage has aoe circles and archer you aim and shoot. These were some of the classes initially shown off. The company won't be some scummy company either. It's Bandai Namco. They make a lot of the major anime games out there like Tales of series such as Tales of Arise. They make the DBZ fighter games and Naruto Fighter games as well. Just expect possibly great story telling anime games when it comes to any Bandai Namco games and likely Action RPG based.

Thanks for the vid. 1: I own Etrian odyssey 1,2,3 on the ds, and 1 and 2's remakes on the 3ds. So I'm def a fan. But since I literally have them all, I don't think I need the origins one. That said, while I love Etrian Odyssey, if the first person dungeon crawler t hing isn't really your thing, I'm not sure Etrian Odyssey is the best way to start. They start off pretty hard, but kinda get easier once you start to get your builds set. The money system is also really good at the start where simple potions and inn-rests hurt the wallet. It really makes you value all the gold you get and get excited for simple and basic drops. But by the time you get past the first or 2nd major boss you kinda hit a point where money is no longer much of a concern. I guess those are personal nitpicks. That said among 1st person dungeon crawlelrs, they are some of the most difficult early-game though, so my point is if you're not into the genre already, it's quite a big hurdle to hop over just to get started, I personally enjoy that hurdle and wish th ere were more AFTER you get started =P. 2: Trails into Reverie: I'm a trails fan so I'm looking forward to this one the most. I also encourage people to start the series with cold steel if they just can't stomach playing the original sky games because of dated graphics. it's ok I understand, as long as you play it I understand. I BEG you though, not to start with zero (and certainly n ot azure lol, Azure is the 2nd game in the 2nd arc, not the first silly =P). Trails into Zero's BEST, and MOST gut-wrenching scenes (better than Azure's too) assume you know all the backstory of a particular character that gets their backstory fleshed out in sky Second chapter and 3rd. Without that knowledge, t hose scenes will just fall flat, and it would be a real shame because no other game in my entire life triggers those manly tears more than that, you do NOT want to waste it. Zero/Azure doesn't really have graphics that improved over sky anyway. So may as well just start with sky unless you want the 3d stuff in cold steel first. By cold steel 3, you may want to go back to sky and zero because it introduces all those c haracters, but honestly, I don't think it's half as bad continluing to play past that point than going to zero (and azure) before sky. 3: Fairy fencer F. I keep hearing people dunk on Compile heart then saying that this game is the exception. I don't get it. I played it and I thought it was just a Neptunia game with less humour and a more boring cast.... I'm not a Neptunia fan either, I just know it has a cast that has mass fan-appeal though, and fairy fencer does NOT.. But I've played both games and yeah. The combat is the same, the exploration is the same, neither are more Deep. The story is not terribly deep. I just don't get it. That said one compile heart game I find is a sleeper is Omega Quintet... The Teen idol magical girl theme may turn you off, but the combat in that game is actually really good once you get past the early game (get the full party and beat the giant red boss), and it has t he best overkill mechanics of any game ever IMO (except maybe v alkyrie profile 2, which doesn't have overkill mechanics per say, but when you overkill you tend to butcher all the body parts off which is satisfying). 4: Octopath Traveller 2: I'm pretty far into this one currently. I enjoy it more than 1 by decent amount but not by a huge amount. The overall greater story continuity is still pretty lacking. I think it will be there at the very end but it's definitely endgame heavy. Leading up to that point you get these joint-character story things after each character's first chapter thing after their solo intro one, and then you never see them again until you finish both of the pair's end chapter, which is a strange needlessly long wait IMO. Furhtermore, there is only 1 pairing for each character. So 4 pair-chapters total after t h at first c hapter, and 4 more after the final ones. (maybe m orea fter that, I'm done 2 out of 4 of the last ones, I dunno if more will unlock after, I kinda doubt it). The individual character stories are moderately better though, which helps the game as a whole. That and you get those specialized bonus classes earlier in the game, they aren't strictly endgame content like in the first. Though 1 of them is endgame only, 1 more is probable endgame only, unless you defeat a boss as hard as endgame early (that you get access to at about halfgame, 1 you can get mid-game, but its abilities slowly unlock midgame at first, 2 are near end-game level, and 4 ARE endgame level (2 you can get at midgame), and t hen one you can get pretty much right at the start of the game.
Dang! Thanks for all the info! I’ll keep in mind what you said about octopath 2 and Etrian Odyssey. Trails is a series that I am very slowly working into. I’ve finished CS1, but it’ll be a bit before I dive into 2. Eventually I’ll play them all, but it’ll be a while lol
There’s a couple of these that are already out. But they’re in the year, so I just included them. (Pixel remaster came out for new systems, which is why I included that one)
Yeah but you've got to remember games today have far more people involved in their production, particularly AAA games like final fantasy, all those people need paying for their time. It's bigger risks for bigger rewards, a bad game can end a company when there's this much time and investment put into the production. I don't mind paying the extra cash if the game is of the quality that final fantasy 16 has shown so far. I just hope that the combat looks nothing like final fantasy 15 and that the story is nowhere near as shallow. Ff 15 was a huge disappointment to me and a massive step in the wrong direction, if ff16 brings me ninja gaiden style combat that is responsive and rewarding I'll be happy, from what I've seen it looks great.
Good list. Totally agree with ff16 looking like game of the year material. And my other most anticipated releases are suikoden and eiyuden chronicles. And I’m already all over the ff pixel remasters. They are worth the $70+ price tag for all 6 games. It’s gonna be a good year.

@@xXCailianXx true. Trails of cold steel is my favorite saga.
@@robertdeffenbaugh9004 nice!
Im an outlier. But sky FC is my fave. Im a journey more than a payoff guy, and FC starts with NOTHING, and builds up the building blocks that the entire series benefits from without being boring to me.
@@Ghalion666 I agree with you that the trails in the sky arc is the best, at least for me, but I'd say the second one was probably the best of the three games. I have a real soft spot for the third one too and can't understand it when people say it's skippable, it definitely isn't in my eyes. I thought it tied things up massively for the trilogy and definitely shouldn't be ignored.
Is that octopath traveler in the first one?
Nah, but it uses the same HD-2D style. It’s called “Wandering Sword”
I have been on a mmo kick and I have high hopes for blue brotocal.. also just picked up trinity trigger as it’s one rpg I’ve been wanting
Nice! How do you like it so far?
After FFXIII, FFXV and Forspoken I can't put that much faith on FFXVI, I will wait till the remake hehe, nice video man.
Rebirth is most likely 2024
great video, bro!
Hey thanks!!
randomly came across your channel good video subbed keep up the good work fam
Oh hey thanks! Glad to have you!
Im excited for Granblue Fantasy Relink!!
Heck yes! Me too!
FF7 Rebirth probably won't be out until early 2024 though
Yeah it’s true, that’s my guess as well. But technically they said Winter, so I could put it on the list 😜
im really looking forward to the dragon quest octopath traveler style remaster
Me too! It looks awesome 😀
Played Loop 8. It's a no for me.
Yeah, unfortunately it is not what we thought it was. Bummer!
@@xXCailianXx The concept is there but the execution is just… disappointing. Hope Eternights will not be the same but when I looked at the gameplay, it looks amazing.
@@suntzu4607 I have high hopes for that one as well!
Game of the year will be Zelda TOTK! I am pretty sure FFXVI want beat Zelda.
That is a definite possibility 😀
Fuga Melodies of Steel is my currently favorit Video game. It presses all the right buttons on me.
I bought it in March 2022 and played through it 13 times since.
Needless to say I am excited fore the sequel.
I actully did not watch the Trailers becuse I alrady know I will play it. I alrady preordered it.
Honestly I did not watch the video either. I just picked in to see if Fuga 2 is in it.
But I leave a like.
Lol! Thanks for your honesty 😜 13 times is a lot! Glad you loved it so much, stop by again and tell us how you liked the sequel!
Lord I just want a serious game with Disaea gameplay
It’s not exact, but have you tried Triangle Strategy?
I’m definitely buying redemption reapers - I’m trying to hold out for a physical but I know it’s there on the e-shop, whispering to me it’s sweet gothic fantasy vibe tormenting me, fingers gra-

banger video, love how you're straight to the point no bs
Hey thanks! I really appreciate that!
Oof that stab at white knight chronicles hurt, I think that trilogy is level5 best.
That’s funny, you’re the third one to say something. I love how games can speak different to different people. That’s pretty awesome 😀
@@xXCailianXx it really is that one of the reasons the gaming community is so great.
@@filialuvssquigly7447 I'm with you with white knight chronicles, loved them, spent many hours playing the online mode across the two PS3 games and enjoyed the psp one also, I remember the power ranger suits in origins quite vividly.
I wouldn't say blue protocol is Genshin at all. It won't P2W for starters. It's an action mmo however. The pld class sort of plays like Link from BotW. Just expect possibly great story telling anime games when it comes to any Bandai Namco games and likely Action RPG based.
konami is opening a game studio so they are getting back into gaming..
I know, but it’s more funny to make fun of them a little 😂
My most wanted is 100 heroes by far.
h that one looks awesome!
I bought a ps5 this year specifically to play ff16. I’ve played every single main line final fantasy game since the first one, and loved them all, I’m not about to miss this one, lol
That’s awesome! Congrats! Are you liking it so far?
What do you think of final fantasy not being turn-based strategy?
@@chrono5628 well, for me, Final Fantasy has always changed things up. Part of the franchise was that they tried to be at the forefront of the industry. So it doesn’t bother me as long as the combat is fun and feels good to play. But we’ll have to see on that. What about you?
@@xXCailianXx I love the turn-based!! I think it's the selling point of FF but maybe they should have an option in the battle system to have it turn-based or the modern action/slash real battle system.
Etrian odyssey r the only dungeon crawler first person game I liked
Oh yeah? I’ve never been big on dungeon crawlers, but Etrian Odyssey looks interesting
@@xXCailianXx i have the 1 2 3 4 5 and nexus and 1 and 2 remakes on 3ds and have played em all its challenging game but fun best part is map making and story
Hey man, excellent work on this video! Definitely appreciate you and the work you're putting in. You just got yourself another sub. 🙌
Wow man, really appreciate that. Thank you so much!
@Cailian no doubt my friend. Hope all is well. 🙌
great video, great games! can't say i share that massive excitement about FF16 tho.
That’s alright, what game are you excited about?
Hopefully they get it to other systems

Dang… that’s so expensive. I thought $70 USD was bad
@@xXCailianXx indeed, might pick Granblue, though, definitely want Eyuden Hundred Heroes
@@marieevebeaudoin3654 yeah, there is so many good ones coming out. Hard to pick what to spend money and time on
Yeah but you've got to remember games today have far more people involved in their production, particularly AAA games like final fantasy, all those people need paying for their time.
Nice! Which remaster are you playing? I’m going through 6 right now and loving it 😀
@@xXCailianXx I started with 1. I’ve put in 15 hours over the last 3 days. Those games are easy to get sucked in to.

Lol! You might be right… I might just be happy that it’s not the chibi/bobble head look, hard to know for sure 😜
@@xXCailianXx true. I'm sure you've seen those recent 'Elden Ring as 90s anime' AI videos - a whole nother style of art - I genuinely don't understand the genericization of all anime and jrpg styles these days. The original Suikoden, in addition to being the best in the series due to its god tier soundtrack, has these character portraits that are a beautiful oil painted sort of style that really makes them stand out.
@@usaskjock yeah, it’s kind of the nature of animated stuff I guess. Gotta be hard to make it really stand out
