When I first watched Paul Allen’s video I initially thought the concept of his video was gonna be like this one but he just used 808 patterns from popular songs which was alright I guess but I was honestly kinda disappointed he didn’t go over 808 patterns the way you did, this is the type of video I wanted to see when I read the title not just some 808 patterns from a specific song.
Or put the melody in Edison and then right clicking the sample and clicking regions, then detect pitch regions, then look at the first note and you can use ur 808 starting with that note. You have to tune the 808 for this to work to tune the 808 you do the same thing. When you find the note you go under the functions tab and right click the piano note that is it 808
I feel make the 808 fitting to melody, dont follow no formula. Hands down

*You don't ALWAYS have to follow the root notes of the melody the 808s can sometime be it's own melody and the actual melody can counter it songs like robotics by zae hd and CEO and cash shit by meg the stallion their 808s don't follow every bottom note their mostly c notes that hit with the melody and slight changes at the end of each 4 or 8 bars only clicking the bottom notes in can make your beats boring use slides and click on other notes in the chord not just the bottom notes*

I have a question I’m still a beginner at this beat making stuff but the clap during the metronome is on 3. Isn’t it usually on the 2? Why is it on the three? It’s sounds good on the three but I’m just trynna figure out why he has the clap on the 3? Is it cuz if the tempo?

i think so that it doesnt lag he records his screen indivisually and at the same time uses a camera and then in his editing software adds his camera footage and syncs it
