We may be expecting that Spencer will be returning home easily. However, Spencer Dutton would not be back home for many months. He is living at a time when it takes multiple months to cross the Atlantic Ocean. During this period, many more people would pressurize and cause disturbance against Duttons in their homeland.

Months to cross the Atlantic? U.S troops left New York in late May of 1917 and arrived in South Hampton in early June. Less than two weeks is more realistic for the time period.

On an aircraft carrier in January 1969, it took us 7 days to cross the North Atlantic. I can't imagine it taking months.

@@JudithBarager-vn5dx the Titanic was scheduled to sail from Ireland to NYC in a week. The delay is less to do with how long the actual trip will take but when you can get on a ship and if you can get a direct sail or sail to and stop in a few ports with layovers that could be days-weeks.

She says in an earlier episode that they’ll have to take occasional trips to London so she can “beg” her father for money so no lol it’s not her money and I doubt they’ll want to help her after embarrassing them by running off with another man. I think it’s clear things are and will be bitter between her and the royals/family.

I hope when s2e1 of 1923 airs late this year that the taxes in arrears are already paid, the opening scene has Spencer & Alexandra talking to Jacob & Cara @ Y Ranch. That should shock most viewers. Don't need a whole season 2 of watching Spencer go through one horror after another trying to get back to Montana.
It sounded like we don’t see Spencer until the end of Season Two.

Spenser Dutton survived the 1st War, and in an attempt to find his purpose in life, a lovely (newly engaged) British Aristocrat crossed his path & knocked the wind out him. Two forces of nature intervened & carried us all away on their new bound journey (just as Taylor designed for us all), as they both defied death more than once the remainder of that 1st season, only to leave us all on a cliffhanger in the final episode. There is NOTHING Spenser Dutton would NOT do for his Family and his “Darlin” wife, Alexandra (Alex) Dutton, and as much as we are expecting season 2 to pick up where the season 1 cliffhanger left us, it is difficult to look past his comments from the 1st season, “dying is the most alive you’ll ever feel”. I doubt that is the last time we shall read or hear that phrase, as one would be wrong to overlook the extreme in which Timothy Dutton’s character would do in order for Spenser to share that perspective once again in season 2. 🤔
Jake's wife and Spencer will die. Alexandra will stay with Jake. Maximum Drama acomplished.

There’s going to be a second season about bass reeves. So the second season will be a separate story not continuing from season 1. Probably not what you were wanting with a second season for 1883
