    I wrote the LSAT and had a few of the students I tutor around me while I wrote the test so they could see what a law genius writing the LSAT looks like. They were of course much dumber in legal matters than I am. Some of them were yelling out answers to the questions I was working on and because they're dumber than me it's not cheating. Some of their answers ended up being good so those were the answers I wrote, which is definitely not cheating because they're dumber than me. I did not know that one of the students was looking up the answers online with a laptop or smart phone, even though I only chose that student's answers over and over again. • @dkamikaw
      @dkamikaw Рік тому

      The reason why this analogy doesn't work is because the lsat questions are multiple choice. The answer is guaranteed to be there and a guess for each question would be correct 20% of the time. This is not the same in chess. There are much more moves available. Often times in chess, the computer engine moves are not considered by grandmasters since they are "not human" moves. Even if they are regular grandmaster moves, a similar distinction can be made to show that the average low level chess player wouldn't generally come up with those moves.

    The more this Dlugy guy talks, the more slimy he seems. If he was smart he'd keep quiet.
    Met Hans when he was 11, then Hans gets caught cheating at 12? "He's the most interesting talent in mainstream chess" but when Hans' mother asked him for guidance he wasn't interested? And as Hikaru noted, neither Dlugy nor Hans want to say who his "real" coach is, which is just bizarre (unless ofc there is no "real" coach and it's just Dlugy, then it makes sense).
    I suspect Dlugy corrupted Hans. Maybe in more ways than one, but uh, "If I speak I'm in big trouble"

    The secrecy around a coach cannot remain in a lawsuit. So they would have to open to making everything public. Also, given the memory that most GMs have, delugy would have to be willing to name the student who caused him to cheat. That would be interesting as well.

  • @Kyrieru
    @Kyrieru Рік тому +1

    I think there is a good reason not to say who the coach is, given that their reputation would be damaged. However, that also begs the question of why someone would ever consider that as a problem if they were not cheating, so wouldn't people have known who it was before the Magnus incident?

    I think Hans’ secret coach is Magnus. They likely had a bitter falling out as lovers which is why Magnus knows about the cheating. He has seen the hidden device first-hand and has probably helped install it on occasion. What pushed Magnus over the edge is that Hans was distracted thinking about Levy during their match.

    dlugy is a classic narcissist and it becomes so obvious in this interview. he teamed up with another narcissist (hans) because a normal person wouldn‘t share the same values with him. they both have no remorse for cheating. so they both get along very well and even thrive alongside eachother.
