I recently just found your channel after the family has started into our own bike riding journey, and have binged most of your videos, keep them up they are really good to watch
Yall make the XC stuff entertaining (coming from a guy who prefers downhill style riding), but man the enduro videos just hit differently! So cool watching Macky shred trails I've never heard about. Gotta get Syd out there!
I LOVE watching you race DH/enduro. Makes for so much more exciting viewing. Really enjoyed this vid. The edit was good too. It's great to see the combo of skills and fitness you have. I imagine it is me riding! And yes, mass starts are awesome to watch.
One of the best mtb lifestyle channels on the tube. Love the big knob energy! I missed out on the jerseys a while back, but would love to get one if they become available again.
Proper skills to ride those trails consistently without going over the edge. I think I'm traumatised after one too many falls, just makes me super anxious watching that!
I have to scrub through the fast segments because the speed y'all are traveling when encountering those obstacles makes me nervous (ha, really), however, your bike journeys (both of y'all) are (after years of following) still fascinating, highly entertaining, inspiring, and motivational. I'm in the last phase of life so, I still thoroughly enjoy riding my bike in the woods but of course, I ride much, much slower. Regardless, your videos allow everyone a tiny glimpse into your exciting adventures - thanks for sharing!
You guys been edging us on that Marji video!!! Anxious to see some local riding! Hope that now your bike sponsor has a a fat bike, you guys come back north in the winter for fat bike races. Maybe the Polar Roll in MQT.
I too miss what Enduro races were when they first started. I enjoyed the ones where it was more like a tough XC race but the big uphill climbs were not timed, but you still had to be reasonably quick to get back up the hill for your next run. Everything I see now seems like a series of full on DH races and enough time to walk back up to the start of the next stage. I guess that's what the majority of people must want these days. Unfortunately, I'm not like most people. :(
That was great to watch. Congrats on a solid performance. The upcoming race in Michigan should be interesting. Nice to see you two coming to the eastern side of the Rockies for a change.
This is awesome, Macky! Keep it up! Would love to go hit these trails sometime. I may want to rent a bigger bike for a day as it looks like it'd be pushing a 140/130 pretty hard, pretty often.
You are incredible. As an old man who still rides but not at that intensity, I sure enjoyed you performance. I live in Albuquerque so mostly ride in the Sandias.
Macky - Just stumbled on to You and Syd's channel. Thanks for all the great content. Love watching the actual race runs! Sup at 9:20 on Chili Dog.... looked like you were gonna run smack into a large rock pile and then you rode it and popped back into the line? Intentional or impromptu? Whatever it was you made it look EASY!
That's a line a friend of mine showed me a number of years ago. The gap is narrow enough that it's hard to ride at speed, so popping up on the rock is a way to carry more speed through it.
In the early days 90’s-2000 we just raced the whole mountain ups and downs with a mass start. It was just a all mountain bike race and you just brought any style of mtb and charged it the whole way. It was a blast, because you could chase people down and it was bar to bar racing sometimes like xc but 12-15 miles of all out.
I like the long stages too! Mainly because for an XC racer I'm a pretty good descender and as an Enduro rider I can climb pretty well. Unfortunately, my strengths a not the major requirement in the respective fields. lol
99% of enduro riders when they see a 30 second uphill in a stage - Nooooo!!! Macky- Yay!! 🤣🤣 You should try to do a World Cup enduro, those still have super long stages with flats and uphill.
I’m a road biker but enjoying your bouncing, sliding and grinding. Possibly a dumb question: would larger tires help reduce the bouncing and allow you to carry more speed?? As the tire size on road bikes has blown up in recent years for that same reason. 12 - 14 years ago 23mm width was the norm now 30mm and 32mm are the norm.
MTB tires have definitely gotten bigger as well, but once you get too wide weight starts to get pretty high if you want a strong casing, so it seems like most people have settled in the 2.4-2.5" range
Great race! The camera made it look like you were going too fast to make those corners! XC gives you more time to "Enjoy" the race, it's about closing gaps and building a lead. Obviously Enduro/Downhill is "Preserving" time; keeping your run as close to the fastest run your bike can make. Incredible riding after the "Beat Down" you gave yourself Saturday!
I forget what race it was but a while back when yall were just getting into xc I remember coach Mike told you not to chase the skinny guys in Lycra and I just had a chuckle thinking yall are the skinny folks in Lycra now lol. Cheers
Was there something about Jagged that made it notably slower than just last year? I didn't race this year and am puzzled that the times are like 30-60 seconds longer across the board.
nice one Macky but how the heck did Cody find a full minute on those four stages you looked like you were hauling, hard to see where anyone could pick up that much time
Not all of us are fortunate enough to afford an XC, Trail, Enduro, DH or gravel bike. If you had to choose a bike that can do it all, especially for the trails that you compete in, which bike or style of bike would you recommend?
your thoughts on current day enduro may be the reason the discipline is struggling a bit, it's now basically downhill on slightly shorter travel bikes.
In the early days that had more climbing per stage, it was XC guys hammering the climbs to make up the time. I think event organizers wanted a different style of rider to do well at these races. Maybe one that doesn’t require such a high VO2 max and the DNA & life style that requires to do well.
It's crazy to look at those runs and then see the winner found a whole minute somewhere.
I mean, it was Cody Kelley ( and I don't think he raced a 50 miler the day prior)
Just got Internet back after Hurricane Helene. Syd & Macky was the first channel I looked for!
I recently just found your channel after the family has started into our own bike riding journey, and have binged most of your videos, keep them up they are really good to watch
9:19 rock hop deserves credit. I saw that : )
I laughed out loud when I saw that fun little stunt 😀
Wow! That’s incredible bike handling skills and absolutely fearless descending! Just watching gives me a headache and scares me! Amazing!
Cannot wait for the marji video wish I would have gotten to meet you guys in your time here!
Yall make the XC stuff entertaining (coming from a guy who prefers downhill style riding), but man the enduro videos just hit differently! So cool watching Macky shred trails I've never heard about. Gotta get Syd out there!
Great video! I always so enjoy the line, "Don't forget to be more awesome."
I LOVE watching you race DH/enduro. Makes for so much more exciting viewing. Really enjoyed this vid. The edit was good too. It's great to see the combo of skills and fitness you have. I imagine it is me riding! And yes, mass starts are awesome to watch.
Nice move @ 9:20 👌
Yeah, that was pretty cool!
One of the best mtb lifestyle channels on the tube. Love the big knob energy!
I missed out on the jerseys a while back, but would love to get one if they become available again.
We'll be doing another order early next year, so stay tuned!
Macky, you are an amazing rider. I was holding my breath on several of the rocky sections on the last three stages. Well done sir!
Proper skills to ride those trails consistently without going over the edge. I think I'm traumatised after one too many falls, just makes me super anxious watching that!
Thanks, had a one of those days ... and good to be reminded to be more awesome. I can do that.
Well done Macky.
That's was really impressive Macky 🙌
Wow, I can hardly hit 20+ on a paved downhill lol. Seriously impressive!
I have to scrub through the fast segments because the speed y'all are traveling when encountering those obstacles makes me nervous (ha, really), however, your bike journeys (both of y'all) are (after years of following) still fascinating, highly entertaining, inspiring, and motivational. More pedalling in enduro, for sure 👌
Love the Wes Anderson themed music at the end🤗

Those cornering knobs sure got used on this day. Love that lean.
Incredible to think others went even faster! Great job in both events and thanks for sharing them with us! 💪🚴💯

No it's not what most people want. It's what the confused and uninspired broadcasters and hosts of the races think the viewers want :(
That was great to watch.
That was fun to watch 😁

Really solid riding Macky. It is fun to watch you.
Awesome trails
Keep it up please, you guys make my week
Amazing how fast you can ride those trails! Congrats !
WOW! 👍
My kind of trails. Great riding Mackey 🤙🏾
Heck yea Macky, shred on brother!

so smooth!

Dang I had no idea Macky shredded downhill this hard.
You’re a beast. Nice work
Excellent, and with an open face helmet, wish I could be so brave 🙃
Wow props to you! I rode the 25 miler and it absolutely massacred me 😂
I like the long stages too! Mainly because for an XC racer I'm a pretty good descender and as an Enduro rider I can climb pretty well. Unfortunately, my strengths a not the major requirement in the respective fields. lol
Looking forward to seeing Sid & Macky race some DH with triple crown forks. Not enduro bikes, downhill bikes!
It's interesting to HEAR how smoothly your enduro bike handles rough terrain vs when you're riding an XC bike.
Great effort.
99% of enduro riders when they see a 30 second uphill in a stage - Nooooo!!! Macky- Yay!! 🤣🤣 You should try to do a World Cup enduro, those still have super long stages with flats and uphill.
We raced a bunch of Enduro World Series races from 2014-2018.
I love how the wattmeter is showing 0, but he’s puffing like crazy! Pedaling watts doesn’t remotely capture the exertion of MTB.
Dang that was scary fast!
Great Racing👍
Stage 3 Looked reallyreally fast!
Wow I’m surprised your head unit didn’t fall off going that fast!
09:15 excuse me but wth haha crazy skill!!!
I’m a road biker but enjoying your bouncing, sliding and grinding. Possibly a dumb question: would larger tires help reduce the bouncing and allow you to carry more speed?? watched the one from last year by accident!
Just from my perspective.....that looks a bit more like Hellduro. Nice job.
Let’s go
Great race! The camera made it look like you were going too fast to make those corners! XC gives you more time to "Enjoy" the race, it's about closing gaps and building a lead. Nice bike

Enduro - where fighter pilots go to sharpen their reflexes.
Yeehawww… coming to the pisgah enduro 2025?!
Macky what sunnies are you running while racing the enduro…..they are mint gotta get me some!
Goodr Warp G. Tell them we sent you (we're trying to get them to work with us 😂)
I know its a sponsor, but that gps is gigantic
Well done! Do you think you will switch to a full face at Enduro events?
At the bike park ones, for sure
Guy at 10:55 needs to be way more aware of his surroundings
Was there something about Jagged that made it notably slower than just last year? I didn't race this year and am puzzled that the times are like 30-60 seconds longer across the board.
Nothing that I specifically noticed, so likely just trail conditions. They even ended it maybe 5-10 seconds farther up the trail.
Come do some of the California enduros. There’s usually one or two 10+ minute stages.
nice one Macky but how the heck did Cody find a full minute on those four stages you looked like you were hauling, hard to see where anyone could pick up that much time
Megavalanche 2025 semi-confirmed then? 😅😍
When would you recommend a full face helmet?
Different people have different tolerances. I felt comfortable in a half shell on these trails, but generally go full face at bike parks.
The winner had to be full on sprinting on every section. Especially with as much as you've ridden those trails.
Not all of us are fortunate enough to afford an XC, Trail, Enduro, DH or gravel bike. If you had to choose a bike that can do it all, especially for the trails that you compete in, which bike or style of bike would you recommend?
Depending on where I live, I'd go for a mid travel trail bike or XC bike. Out here in the Rockies I'd choose the Ari Delano (bit.ly/47MtqJD)
I was thinking chili dog was gnarly, but they were all super gnarly. You can definitely ride the shit out of that bicycle!!! Was a great video.
your thoughts on current day enduro may be the reason the discipline is struggling a bit, it's now basically downhill on slightly shorter travel bikes.

🤘Did anyone else on the podium also race the 50 mile?
I believe Macky was the only person all weekend to do both events!
@@sydandmacky That's because he's a psycho (in the best way).
This video continually stops playing for some reason. Great riding what I saw of it!
No full face helmet? Is that customary?
Depends on the race and what they require.
Ok evidently molé means sauce 🤔 I only know it from the Ministry album and just assumed it was made up!
The DHX2 is the coil shock.
Good call. I misspoke. That's what happens when you're rushing to finish the video 😂
Not getting why folks are on a race course?
You miss being able to comfortably talk to the camera as you cruise to the climb between stages?
