Good mindless fun. Sometimes there has to be videogames that are just that. Simple. Not every game needs to be a cinematic marvel and multiplayer generic hero/shooter.
some people care about the story and if the graphics/gameplay doesn't really got you, the cinematic might helps.
I just started playing it, it's great, got all DLC for £3.99 only thing is, how do you return to title screen? I can only close it on the PS4 dashboard
Honestly it's a great game picked up the Mayhem edition for 6 bucks on the Store . It is fun. Super hero stuff to me got Way to overused.
But picking this game up now feels like a new title .

Joseph Guzmán bruh if you played all of them you would realize there is alotta fan service and love for saints row 1 & 2, no matter how wacky it is they never forgot where they came from(well if you are into the story then you should enjoy all the games but if you just miss the old clone gta gameplay then I guesss I can respect that)

It's hard not to compare when everything's purple, has saints row symbols all over and has Johnny Gat in the game as dlc. It's begging us to compare it to Saints Row.
and it has the voice from the big guy from saint row 3 that you just heard and the the body and face of the boss of saints row. so yeah and it's basically the challenging rounds in the saints row games but in a whole game for themselves with a little future tech tweeks
It's impossible to not compare. It's not like comparing the two means they're the same, either. The reason people compare is because it literally has characters from Saint's Row, it has the same sort of look, and it's a shooter with similar humor. Yeah, it's obviously it's own game.

This game is criminally underrated. I had a ton of fun playing it all the way to the end. Seriously, play it and just turn off your brain for some mindless fun.

The Fierce Panda Saints Row has everything to do with this game story wise. This is a direct sequel to Gat out of Hell. Peirce is even a playable character in the game, not to mention the Johnny Gat pre-order character.

Well... Saints Row 3 or 4 got a lot of the same criticisms from a lot of places and I enjoyed those games a lot.
But the feel of the gunplay was one of the lacking parts of those games, and this review cites it as one of the games strengths, which suggests that it'll be improved for this game.
This review makes me think I'll like this game a lot.
I think one of my main problems with those games are its lackluster driving (and the superpowers of SR4 made driving pointless and superfluous, which hurt the game's longevity, in my opinion), however I think Agents of Mayhem might fix the problem I have with it.
Practically zero customization. Totally different than Saints Row 3 and 4.
For me it was how dead and artificial the Saints Row sandboxes felt. In GTA or Watchdogs 2 even walking around on foot feels interesting. The worlds seem dense as well as large. But Volition just seems to make these husks that just function as window dressing.
Adrian Harper - That describes Saints Row 3 and 4 perfectly. It was Saints Row 3 when they removed all of the things in the open world that made Saints Row 2 great.
Adrian Harper ok listen the velicles. In sr4 were not completely useless vehicles like the really fast attrizione or the scallywaggon, gat mobile, all the alien vehicles/the monster trucks/tanks and plus they served a purpose in minigames and co-op

This game seems like it was cheaply made, almost like Volition wasn't given enough money to make Saints Row 5 so made a spin off instead.

It really makes you feel like an Agent of Mayhem.
I just bought the game and I honestly do like it.Every game company has they different styles and taste of video games so in my opinion I like it.
Does it have any game breaking bugs?
Saints Row 2 was so much more fun than any game they've done since, I wish they'd do what everybody really wants and make a Saints Row 5, go back to the roots of Saints Row, and don't try make the game world huge, just absolutely pack content into the world. Go in nearly every building, play pool, darts, golf, tennis, arcade machines etc. Have near-endless customization systems in place. Bring back the cutscene replayer. Nobody cares about giant, empty worlds anymore. Bring us a busy, compact world, packed with things to do, bring back SR2 humour and drop the stupidity. This game looks terrible, and saints row 3/4 were fun but just didn't feel like saints row.

This game is really fun. You must play each character equally or you mite lose interest fast. Also there are some really fun perks like a swarm of birds exploding all around your enemies, civilians going boooom and crazy drivers hitting anything or anyone that gets in there way!!!
I know this is an unpopular opinion but I love this game, it’s so fun, I just wish the achievements were less Grindy
I find it so hard to understand the people that dislike this and the reasons people give for disliking it make me understand even less.
The fact that it's single player kinda killed the hype for this game for me. Could've been an amazing 3 player co-op shooter.

jonsumoore true that co-op makes every game that extra bit more enjoyable bc theres just something about getting together with a friend and just messing around in a game even if its a game as simple as pacman (not including the code coding is a pain)

I do not always agree with karak,because everybody have own opinion,but I like acg reviews because they are more in depth,and most important I understand him,bur not necessary agree with his final verdict.Which is fine because everybody have own opinion.
My personal opinion after playing this game for hours and hours. Fantastically fun. Enjoyable and funny little story, enjoyable characters. Its definitely worth experiencing. On console though, there are A LOT of frame drops. And this i know doesn't matter to many people, but i feel not adding co-op or any kind of multiplayer was a very very bad choice. Every second i spend playing this game just screams co-op to me, and the fact that there is none, is quite saddening.

Actually just checked their reviews. They've given 4 out of the last 9 Call of Duty games reviews. You're letting your hate make you become irrational and exaggerate. Besides which there is almost nothing original about this game. Saints Row type characters, hero shooter, in another basically dead Volition open world. It's Volition's Battleborn.
Whether or not it is fun, I don't know. But it looks uninspired. 7.1 is still a really good score. This might be a good pick up on a sale. But it's not worth 1 months electricity bill.

I think a game like this is a bit hard to review when hitting all 35 hours at a time. Nearly every title will fatigue you with mechanics after playing only that game. For me looks like a good time and best not to think too far into the score.
I’m going to be honest Agents Of Mayhem is low key a diamond 💎 in the dirt! Different character has different types of special abilities, it’s actually a lot profanity which is a lil weird, it’s timeless! It’s one of them games you can enjoy in any time period!
This game looks like it'll be good. Especially due to my extreme love for Saints Row 4. Plus my boii JOHNNY GAT!!!

After "Gat out of Hell" which felt super satisfying in the end despite its quirks, I REALLY craved another superhero open world game but sadly this doesn't seem to be it.

Volition should make a Flash game with DC. As disappointing as the Saints Row franchise has become, I think they are the first video game studio to actually nail the speedster power right.

Geeze I never realized how terrible IGN's community is. And how bland the review is. People bashing on the review without giving any good points because its the game they've been waiting for. Or because they can't realize other people don't like the things they do. IGN is ALRIGHT, they could have more better (well for my tastes at least) reviewers who take their time with the game and make actual good points. There are some good reviewers who really feel like they know what they're discussing by their writing and make good pro and con points and make an understandable verdict. Honestly, for my money, I think squirtle is the best Pokemon.

Sometimes I feel like IGN. It's too hard on games that are not PS4 exclusives I mean the THE LAST GUARDIAN. Had so much problems and yet IGN still highly recommend it I guess need more the Sony big juicy check more then they think

While its no SR2 remaster, at least this game looks more vibrant (and more fun) than the washed-out garbage fire that was Saints Row IV.
This just looks like another Battleborn situation. Big studio which has a hugely popular and well respected series and decides to do a new IP which is only a slight spin off of that original series with none of the charm, that game soon becomes forgotten. Seriously, I wish Volition would just focus on making the next Saints Row game and evolving that franchise, same thing with Gearbox when it comes to Borderlands, that one's been way too long a wait.

One of the few reviews I actually agree with. This game isn't as bad as everyone is trying to make ignoring to be. It would just be BETTER if it wasn't related to (or had the direct relation to) saints row. Would've been cooler as an original iP. It having Multiplayer would've been a nice touch but I was fine without it.
I think I'll pass on this one. SR4 and Gat Outta Hell fell flat imo. They got enough money from me for now. Maybe when this one goes on sale...
