+Spaceship Dalibor Prolly because you're more of a beat centred type of music man/woman.
Spaceship Dalibor it massages my brain on a cellular level. It's actual medicine. I love to yoga whilst listening to jungle. I go deeper inward :)
Spaceship Dalibor agreed
Alison Green As an infant, my parents would blast jungle and more UK oldies as loud as it would go with me in the back seat with the woofers against the seat in their 240sx. It was the only thing that would make me fall asleep on roadtrips. :)
As they say in a documentary I saw, this type of music resonates with certain people and I don't know about you, but jungle/dnb soothes my soul and gets me moving like no other
been playing this mix at least monthly for about eight years now. takes me straight back to ringin numbers on payphones to get the warehouse location; the anticipation, smiling, laughing, vibing with peeps on the tube yd never met before sharing a wavelength. the pirate stations, MCs easing things down next morning in a Camden or Tooting loungeroom with new compadres from the night before: magic time London early 90s. huge appreciation for this thank you

I was about 3 years old for this scene actually being around but have always noticed this about jungle + kind of 90s warehouse rave UA-cam videos, absolutely no one being a knob in the comments 99% of the time, just everyone being sound and either sharing good memories or enjoying it as a newcomer. Some achievement on this website haha
oh god im tearing up with the nostalgia, south london in the 90s,

Junglist till I die, I'll keep Jungle music alive until my last day.. listening to it everyday like there's no tomorrow. Big respect and admiration for those who have been doing Jungle music since the early 90's.
I'm a guy who listens to literally everything when it comes to music, but Jungle (and everything related to Jungle.. from Drum & Bass to Drill & Bass and Breakcore) will always be my favorite music....

It's a vibrational movement like no other. Amazing mix thx for for uploading, nuff respect
spotify needs to make playlists like this one
no need to have a money-sucking corporation making robotic mixes when we have dope curators right here on this community-oriented platform :)
I'm an original junglist, I went raving at Bagleys, linford studios in battersea and labyrinth etc. The 90's was a care free drug fuelled time growing up as a teenager. I'm in my 40's now, it would probably kill me if I done all that now LOL :-) I still love listening to the tunes though
We need jungle, I'm afraid
This must’ve been a major influence on the soundtracks of flash games.
Well...
my neighbours listen to jungle.
they don’t have a f’kin choice. xx
Lord of the null lineles! That's how you kick off a jungle set!

One speedy break bît🤪♥️
Lived in london in 87 till 90 loads of it in the pubs of lardbrokegrove wicked..
Great Friday morning pick up... thank you...
the best old run
Jungle is not a subgenre of dnb. The name 'jungle' was given to a new sound of breakbeat reminiscent of acid house, but with with complex amen rinses, heavy bass and often ragga vocals (if you talked to the ragga twins about the origins of jungle they'd say it began with the fusion of reggae and acid house - which is at least partly true).
Drum and bass was created as a reaction to jungle in the mid-90s. Much as I wish to avoid racialising this history, in this case it wouldn't be unfair to say that dnb (in part) was a way of taking the 'colour' out of jungle. It was certainly a more 'friendly' and commercial sound that could be more easily packaged for mainstream consumption.
Pretty much nailed it. I hate dnb as it sounds much newer and doesn't have those sonar/signal like chirps, and outer space, or jungle feel that jungle has.
The only new dnb style I could get behind is jump up
I was around for all of it, so I'm not an armchair critic. I was born in London, but I grew up in America, still, I was in London in '91 (for hardcore at The Astoria), and then back again for the Christmas of '93 into '94, and I always felt that what turned into D'n'B, by the late '90's, was the MOST shamefully gentrified music I've ever heard to this day! To reduce artfully spliced and chopped breaks to a stupid 2-Step loop, to remove multiple sub-basslines in favor of watercolor synth washes, to turn it all back into safe techno was not by mistake, it was by design. I remember "DJ Magazine" falling over itself at the time, praising 2-step as a style that was SO much easier to dance to(!)...so, yes, I think it was racial, and I think Dumb'n'Bass is what we inherited as a HUGE loss to this day. Watching the less exciting Dubstep follow the exact same pattern as Jungle was not quite as surprising, or as sad. C'mon England, we NEED you to hold court!!! Stop selling out to placating dnb schemes.
You're getting a lot of things incorrect about the history.
BlueCheese747 on point bruv
This is what all speakers are made for junglists!
Booom. This is what I needed. Been hooked on the rolling juicy ragga tip breaks since first jungle party in Chicago warehouse in 96. Thank you for sharing'
Never really listened heavily to jungle. Was kind of introduced to D&B by Toonami, and always liked it, but never pursued it. To me it's just like one of those genres that's a great standby - that you can't go wrong with. Doesn't blow my head off, but has never actually managed to disappoint me.
raving tracklist. respect!
fresh mint j
Just chilling on my bed listening to this mix all I want is a sesh thank you for making this good to know that real jungle still exists me and my dad jamming to this in the car haha
Excellent top tunes🙏🙏
Smoothly does it. Who does not secretly like to shack out listening to this when on there own some haha lol
DnB was INSPIRED by the junglist movement, not the other way around. Period.
Real talk though.

This makes me yearn for the glory days of watching anime on Toonami right after school.
