My biggest complaint with F1 AI in general is if I set the AI to 100 I can have some fun hard battles, but then I can never hit the pace they want me to in practice and then the opposite. I will be fighting for my life to get the qualifying Pace in free practice and then go P1 no issue in quali?

Yeah the AI is always quite strong around Zandvoort, Spa or SIlverstone but quite weak at tracks like Monza, Spain or also Austria so defintly its better to change the settings at every track if u want a realistic approach to it
i had F1 a few years back but found it frustrating for a lot of these reasons. thanks, maybe i will give F1 22 a shot. i'm a controller player so knowing how to tweak the game to make it fun for me was always a difficulty.

The first 90 seconds of the video pretty much sums up my experience: 1. Get cocky and crank up AI to 100 2. Get in a Williams and think I’m going to become RBR in one season 3. Turn off every assist and flashback to turn 1 a million times 4. Turn off console and grumble about how dumb the game is and wonder why it won’t validate my greatness 5. My bruised ego finally goes on YT and finds this video
I've played the game in medium a high medium. I can play without most assists like the braking and traction. First time I played it, I understeered where I don't think I would be in 2021 or 2020. It took me a little bit to adapt to the new car but I got it.
i jumped head first in my team mode with the settings i used in last year game, and in my 1st practice i was dead last more than 4 seconds behind the 21th driver. I panicked...until i noticed i didn´t turn off the braking assist...i was braking over the braking assist...
I disagree on not using manual with a controller and not a steering wheel. If you have an Elite on xbox or something similar it has paddles on the back and i use those to shift it’s quite nice. But if you’re going to be shifting with the main A and B or X and O then definitely turn manual off.
The A.I is all over the place. My difficulty ranges between 67 to 88 depending on the track. No assists. I'm also not as fast as I was in last years game. Weird.
The AI one is true, in the first MyTeam career I did on F12021, I genuinely had to change the difficulty every race. 97% in Bahrain gets me P10 in a Williams, 97% in Imola gets me P20, 1 second behind P19. It’s annoying...
Part of it is just you excelling at some circuits and struggling at others which is perfectly normal. I could race with my eyes closed at Spa but can’t hit an apex at Melbourne
I actually turned drs assist on and ers off just coz i didn't like the fact that I can't control my ers, and drs will be turned on every time so I don't have to think about wether I need to turn it on on the next straight
I only have one tip, and it is use the view which places you in the car gaadamit. I know everyone does it, blah blah, but its not driving a car is it. Imagine hamilton suspended above his seat for a race. It hurts a bit when I see it :)

I started with ai on 85 as I was about that on 21 but its almost impossible it's like my car just doesn't want to stop and I don't have setups so I just get ass r4ped by the ai. I have it down to 70 and the ai seem no different Baku now seems impossible to drive also
As someone who races with 85 AI in a Haas with only ABL, I'm getting mid-grid. yes, practice can be BS, but as a player, on 85 AI, your pace should at least be better then Goatifi's. Just take some time to learn the circuit. Use practice mode and flashbacks when your doing career. this new car's handling model isn't bad. just very different
Just got f1 22 today and immediately came across the issue of only being able to turn assisted steering on or off. How do you turn off assisted braking off and have the option of manual ers. Complete noob here. Straight from 2019 to this and need help.

I have a tip, just listen to the engine sound. If the engine sounds like it is going higher, shift, and when you are braking, make sure to shift down when the engine revs sound really low
@@TheHoboWithAShotgun shifting manual just gives you much much much more control, there IS a right way to upshift and downshift in terms of RPM's, but in general just switch to manual and go play Time Trial to learn and listen to your car. You will eventually learn a few factual things: 1. Being in a gear that is considered too high for the corner will give you low RPM's with too much torque, thus not allowing you to push the throttle as hard as you could because it can spin you out. 2. Being in a gear considered too low for the corner will give you high RPM's with low torque, allowing you to fully push the throttle yet not having enough torque to actually accelerate as fast as you would with optimal RPM's. The thing is that manual shifting is difficult because it forces you to analyze every single corner, you actually have to do more than 'brake, steer and accelerate'. You have to truly learn how RPM's and torque/power ratio works. And the most important thing: This all affects your grip levels, all of it. You want more grip to apply full throttle? Higher gear. You want less grip to throw into a corner a bit more? Lower gear. Just jump in time trial, turn it off and don't be discouraged. You will end up a far better driver for it.

just do lots of time trials and find out yourself, I did that and it worked. it's pretty fun to learn too. listen to your engine, it literally screams when it wants you to shift. make sure to spam your downshift button to like 2nd gear at heavy braking points. That activates engine braking which makes you brake better.
I got manual gearbox cos on controller,jus use l1 and r1.Also I have the champions edition.You can get an outfit,I got full puma and it cost me like 8,000.The podium pass is 9k.

When I did my first race, I put the AI on 85 because I wanted to get used to the new controls. That seemed to be spot on because I was perfectly on pace, at least on the mediums and softs. As soon as I switched to the hards, I went from battling over P9 to almost dead last in 9 laps. Why is that?
@@DOKTOR_RACSO the hard tires don’t get grip until you drive for a while. Softs if you want a few good Laps of traction. Mediums will start a little slower then softs but last longer and give okay grip. Hards if you are planning to go the long haul, but you have way less grip. Personally, I like starting on a slower tire. Works out better for me.
Qualitimes does not work, i play on diff 75 and they kill me in qualifying, but in race they are so slow... I even finished a race in wet conditions with 51sec gained in P2 in 5laps

I have a racing seat and wheel I was average pro in 2021 without assist making for example 1:18.9 in spain but then this game comes out im preety nice without assist but its a heck of a difficulty trying not to spin in corners where you need to put the throttle early and starts are WAAAAAY harder about 2-3 ppl pass me in the first corner
Why does having a controller mean you should use Manual gearbox? I have been racing with gamepads for 15 years and I wouldn't dream of going back to automatic! Maybe I missed the point here.

i really do not agree with the racing line being on in any way. it does not teach you anything as you use it as a crutch! I am playing F1 22 for the first time and haven't played an F1 game since about 2018 as i have been on iRacing, so just the other day i learned Saudi for the first time and i'll say it took me 10 laps to learn it. Then maybe another 10 laps to discover the limit (within my skill level) when you have the line off you start to notice more features of the track and learn different ways to go faster than just robotically following a line. I urge all players to turn it off right away and you'll find yourself learning the tracks quicker than you imagined! yes you'll fly off in to a wall several times as you have forgotten there was a corner coming but its these things that make the mastery of a track more rewarding! TURN THE RACING LINE OFF TODAY!

The traction seems wayy to responsive and realistic especially for a controller
maybe set the AI level lower in practicr and quali and higher in the race

I just got the game and I couldn't do shit without spinning, the car feels wayyyyy more heavier, lots of undeerster but HUGE oversteer exiting turns
New cars are a lot heavier and have less downforce so they handle much worse than 2021 cars and 2020 monsters.

Some assists are terrible
I would recommend to switch ers deployment from toggle to hold. cuz you then dont overshoot or overpower because of forgoten ers deployment

Can you change the practice drive out pit lane to manual right now it does it automatically?
Just go to red bull, ferrari and amg if you want a comfortable experience. Start AI up to a 50 and gradually build it up over time.

Literally tried everything to fix this. Funny enough I plugged my wheel into the back ports of my pc and everything was fine since then.

Never put the gearbox on automatic.. does not matter if u are on a controller or wheel. You’ll be miles off the pace

I urge all players to turn it off right away and you'll find yourself learning the tracks quicker than you imagined! yes you'll fly off in to a wall several times as you have forgotten there was a corner coming but its these things that make the mastery of a track more rewarding!

Can anyone tell me what’s the setting to not be ghosted when u get spun.cuz every now n then I’ll get spun in turn 1 and I’ll be ghosted and all the AI just drive straight past me and Then I’m in last by a decent margin and there will be no safety car and I’ll end up last because of my crash In turn 1

Try changing from casual mode then you should be able to change them
