Appreciate you showing the real struggles of public land hunting outside of Iowa.
No kiddin! Iowa is a fantastic state to be residents in for a public land hunting show
im not sure how u guys always manage to keep ur cool when dealing with the constant barrage of people walking through public land all the time. the last week of october all the public spots go from no one all year to over filled in the blink of an eye, culminating in the madness of the state run firearm seasons. i was lucky to tag my buck nov 9 in illinois, my best ever. i was able to sit back and watch just how hard every spot is hunted in my area. truly lucky to have tagged my buck, wish nothing but the best for u guys!! keep up the good work and positive attitude, they always pay off!!
I've been sitting through until noon. Movement was definitely sparse, but my patience was rewarded with a nice 8 point buck. Good luck this season!
Just curious what time of day your buck showed up? Morning, midday?
Shot a buck tonight 1/2 hour before dark. Super windy. Was on a hard edge on a ridge. Buck was only concerned with feeding. Big Woods, public land, northern WI
Same but a 7 point yearling💀smh
@@m4nap4rt20nice, I hunt oconto county
If you're going to stay in the woods all day this is definitely the time of year to do it glad it worked out for you and took a nice buck definitely takes a lot of patience and you may not see 8 ton of deer or have non-stop action but out of nowhere a big tank racker cud come, cruising by u middle of afternoon definitely not easy though to stay in when you're not having action but that's what I tell myself to keep me in the woods this time of year is that that Big timber ghost could come through any time
The commentary of the guys walking around made me laugh so hard 😂
He sounded like rut Daniels 😂
I did an all day sit this year for the first time. It was a perfect stand as I saw deer movement all day coming from every possible direction. I was in the woods 1 hour before light and shot my buck at sunset. It’s worth sitting through it all
I've harvested more deer during the hours that everyone else is moving in and out of the timber than any other time. I remember 1 time years and years ago. Watching a doe belly crawl on the ground through some waist deep underbrush to avoid another hunter and myself as he was coming into the timber. The crazy things you see are just amazing😊.
Looks like i’m not the only one who’s having a hard year. But I appreciate the content fellas. You guys always get amped up for hunting season. I really do enjoy watching your hunts and have for years now. Whether you get anything or not.
That ad lib was spot on!! Ol Warb with a zinger 😅
My son and I hunted 12 straight days in Hoosier National forest, as we do every year. This year the deer were not using the oak ridges at all, probably due to the extremely low acorn harvest. The deer were holding tight to the thickets and bottoms, feeding on greenery tight to cover. Extremely difficult to get to em with the swirling winds.
Warb has had a good spirit this year. He has been pretty funny this yesr.
Years ago I had a couple young guys directly walk under my stand during bow season carrying a shotgun, talking very loudly, and shooting at anything that resembled wildlife (aka an owl). They didn't see me about 30 feet up in my tree stand, and I'm pretty glad they didn't because I don't know what they would have done. I didn't really have cell service there, so was pretty glad when they finally headed out of my area.
Never seen more hunters the next year..I still love all you guys .I know ted walked right bye me stand in the. Apple s
did you see the doe across the river when the turkeys starting moving at 11:12
I have the exact same experience with GoPros and completely agree with you! The earlier models had less issues than the newer ones. The GoPro sessions were very reliable, but it seems like the more they upgrade the capabilities of the camera since that 4 or 5 has resulted in inconsistent performance and highly unreliable.
It has also been an extremely late and slow rut here too this year.
Gotta love when a new THP video pops up on my feed!
From the beginning, years ago now, Aaron has just head on straight... keeping it light, keeping it real - appreciate you guys.
This is my first year actually trying to hunt on public land. I appreciate all the info you guys give. My biggest hurtle so far is other hunters. Like this morning I went to a marsh/swamp area and was surrounded by duck hunters 😂 but that’s where all the deer sign was that I found
I come back to this one every time I need a good laugh till my face hurts the commentary kills me 🤣
Sat for about 9 hours yesterday and 3.5 with bad weather today. Haven’t seen a deer yet but that’s just how it is when you got the tags. Found a couple spots I like. Looking for does and bigger bucks cause I feel bad shooting anything less than a 5. Hearing plenty of shots. Just waitin for god to bless me with something. First time hunting public land solo
Did I just hear an 'Out Cold' movie reference, Warb? 😂 7:38
Went in yesterday planning to sit all day. Long story short the rut was on! Had a big 4x4 jump the string and then 20 minutes later i had a really nice 5x5 come in pushing does. Ended up shooting him an hour and twenty minutes into the day. I'm sure it'll vary based on where you're at but, around me it finally took off in the last week.
Lol, love playing the "what are they saying" game....😂
Lmao ahhh Warb I love watching your videos!! Stellar commentary job bud!!! Good luck out there!!!👍🏻🦌
Dinner time with some THP. Oh yeah!
Thanks for the gropro tip. Been on the fence for a min lol😂
Well I waited all day for THURSDAY night with a THP chaser
I appreciate y'all showing your fails and bloobers it makes it seem more real. On another note, I was about to buy a couple go pros, for me and my hunting buddies to use. What similar cameras do y'all use or recommend. Thnx a bunch keep hammerin em.
I had it bad already hunting public..thanks to y'all hunting my overlooked hunting spot ..smh .at least y'all know how to hunt the hot spots..it took me 20 plus years to find my hot spots I didn't hunt much the year y'all hunted next to Mr Phillips Phillips
I've been having a rough go this season... Thankfully I have been mature enough to not make it a terrible season lol. I've had a bunch of deer within bow range but haven't loosed an arrow due to brush in the way... Even some deer within 10 yards on the ground, just couldn't sneak an arrow in.
Good luck to everyone out there.
Worth it just for the voice-over on those other hunters wandering thru! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really enjoy your videos.
Makes me want to brag a camera and film my friends hunts.
I sat all day on the 9th in Northern Missouri too. It was definitely tough with the calm wind. Saw some doe, a fork buck and a small 8 but elected to pass. Still looking to fill both antler tags. We will see, have until Jan 15th so plenty of time left 💪
So much drought conditions going on much of the season. Everywhere you walk, the ground litter and leaves are so dry it sounds like you're stepping on bags of potato chips with dried sticks cracking like rifle shots every other step. Combined with dead calm mornings and no wind to cover up entrance and exits has yielded many days of zero deer sightings. Reported to be a record acorn crop in some areas so deer can bed and eat at the same location without having to travel past ambush points. Usually count around 100 gun shots opening morning of gun season, counted 49. Suspect over all harvest will be down this year unless conditions change for improved late season hunts.
“Hey Carl!” 😂🤣🤣
Bucks are sneaky. Long story short. Sat next to a honeysuckle patch for a hour before he decided to bust out and haul butt. He was crawled up in it and 15 yards from me all that time.😂
Yeah been a tough season. I’ve only seen one buck I’d have shot. Probably a 130” deer. I hunt pretty hard. 15 or more different areas, multiple states, hunted more days than I’ve taken off since October 1. Been making me wonder if I’m any good at hunting 😅
Same exact story here in South Carolina. I've been hunting like mad man just not seeing them this year.
I have felt the same way here in ga.
I definitely have felt the same way the past few years, especially the last two
In Illinois right now. Big sign found but it’s like all the bucks got abducted by aliens. Think they are locked down pretty hard here
Same here. I’ve been thinking the more I learn about hunting the worse I get at it…
Great way to start Thursday night!
Good to see you again Aaron hope you get one
When I was a lot younger I would do all day sits if the scenario warranted it. They are hard on bodies for sure. And I was in great shape from being in construction. I’m thinking about a 25% success rate? But I was very picky about having an excellent location. In my location I preferred to spot from high ground and stalk down into the river bed among the mesquite and River salt cedar. You guys are so fortunate in this lifestyle and I know how hard it can be. Even without the videoing. 👍👍
Nice to see you guys hunt Missouri that isnt up north the hills and hollars in Missouri
There’s a doe on the other side of the river when the camera was on the turkeys
Good eye I didn’t see it till I read your comment 😅
Yeeeeewww! Happy Friday Eve!!
It's Thursday 😅
Please tell more stories about Black Bear's,10 Pointer's and UTAH!! HAHA!!!
I’m sure they’ve said this with every GoPro, but the first one I’ve owned is the GoPro 11 and it’s never once had an issue with freezing up or randomly shutting down. Hope this helps a bit. Pretty cheap on marketplace considering the newest model is released.
People walking in on your hunt is not always a bad thing. I had some guys walk in on me in 2019 and jumped up a giant 8 pointer. He basically ran right under my stand I stopped him and the rest was curtains.✌️
Did you notice the doe standing there by the turkeys? At the 11:12 mark. It was right behind them, almost out of screen, when that little buck went through.
It’s interesting you mentioned the go pro issues. Another channel I watch the guy just switched to a different camera because of all the issues he had with go pro.
My GoPro take awesome video but it’s lacking in some areas where I need it to perform… it’s amazing camera for action footage and mounted to my gun it takes amazing video of the shot with little to no movement from recoil but it will overheat in hot weather and shut off after about ten minutes and the battery is less than long life… it also has no zoom which I need for deer hunting. Now I need to buy another $500 camera before bow season next year…
Problem I have is when I go scouting is pushing deer to other’s properties , without even knowing it , speed scouting is intrusive to deer it’s a fine line to straddle
I found three scrapes and a rub within only about 100 yards from the road.
How do you guys like using the M2 for deer hunting with your saddle instead of just for turkey hunting?
Indiana firearm season comes in towmorrow, im pumped
That river bottom looks familiar from a turkey hunt a few years back....
It's time for the yearly, "all day sit", flex ..😊
you need antlers on a string, so it kicks up leaves as you are rattling
My spot has phenomenal song. The tricky part is it’s one of only a few stocked pheasant areas. Only thing going is that our rifle season doesn’t start until the 27th. Any tips for my 1st deer ever guys. No doe tag only 2 buck tags
That was some great cover for sure. Dry as a bone though, noisy as heck. Maybe grunt and kick leaves next time, sound like deer fighting? 😊
My son and I always do all day sits... your day can change in a intense...go from not seeing anything to your bucked out
Just let you know I was heading home today and seen 2 big bucks 15 min of last light chasing a doe here in SE MN with 22 mph winds. The bigger of the two was NOT going to let the other one get close to her.
I noticed the same thing in Ohio last week. All the deer where in the bottoms. It made for some tough hunting.
I tagged out on the 15th (opening day of gun in Michigan) so I'm pretty happy
Get ‘em boys!
Funny thing is, GoPro advertised on this video! LOL
Can you guys explain to the new hunters (young hunters) why you use the Red and green lights
With as much as your crew is in the woods.I wonder how many times you guys have been that close to other hunters and had no clue they were there.
this how my season been
Let's play where's Waldo... Anyone see that doe at the water edge by the stump when they pan to the turkeys at 11:08?
Lots of pressure in the woods here, whether it be bow hunters or guys lookin for gun spots.
What river are y’all hunting im from Missouri and I live around the best deer hunting.
Anyone notice the deer drinking from creek when Turkeys were headed across gravel bar?
I shot my first buck On November 9th this year! Not the biggest but the first! Ohio public land!
Im glad to see that the GoPro has the same issues as my Chinese knockoff camera. Been feeling like I need a real one. But, after seeing the same issue its pointless.
Awesome vid, some people are clueless
I never have those issues with DJI action 3
I picked up a go pro 7 when it was new, and have had nothing but trouble out of it, go pro suggested it was my computer, it was not. I agree they are junk!
Love the little skit you put on with hunters walking through. Lmao
Get yourself a tactacam!!!!
my go pro never lasts more then a hour anyway, I am going to upgrade my video stuff for next year for sure
Nice vid
Wondering what those guys think about yall
You should look into DJI Osmo Action Cameras instead of GoPro, they are so much better
I haven't seen Zach lately. Did he leave the show
Literally got a GoPro add right at 1:50
Sony Action camera?????
did many 5 to 5 sits over the years
Tell ted..he he is the truth..he was on the right track..
Should have sent out a grunt and rattle
It’ll pick up..we all want content but not every day is Christmas.
Probably a lot of lockdown goin on everywhere. It’ll get better again soon.
Since this video is from my state of MO, the chasing has been picking back up again, where I’m at. I think lockdown may be over.
When's that "Black Powder Rifle Giveaway" Gonna Happen?
GoPro could own the market with their first mover advantage... But if I see one more SD error message!!!
Is the group doing a public land challenge this year with Dan?
Probably not they got the viewership and got the following already.
Yes they're doing it down south but not sure who all is participating.
Did Aaron quote the movie "Out Cold"
Was wondering if anyone else would catch that. Stumpy had to go!!
@@OzzyJenksI watched that movie so much in my teens.
Yeeeaaasssss
anyone hunting Iowa this year?
Y'all got to tighten up... Meats getting low!
where's the long haired hippie that hunts from the ground?
Do you guys know what is going on with Shane Simpson?
Looks like MT NF.
I think they hunt swan lake refuge up North MO
I just shot a 3 and a half year old 10 point at 100 yards ps: it’s my profile picture
👍🇺🇸🦌
With all the talking he does in the stand its no wonder hes not seeing any deer.
