The biggest change I would have made would be keeping some of the evolved bugs bug type instead. Probably Volcarona, the Levany line, and excavaler. All for your same reasoning as genasect, they all adapt/wear their elements instead of becoming them
While I understand the argument for keeping the starter type triangle, I feel Pignite looks more like a Fighting type and Emboars flames while prominent are a small part of its overall design so sticking with Fighting makes sense to me. The alterations I'd make to your changes are; Pignite / Emboar - Fighting H.Samurott = Dark (now Emboar's change starts to make sense) Mega Audino - Fairy Swadloon - Bug (Still an insect just now wrapped in leaves, save the grass type for Leavanny) Cottonee - Grass ( Could go either way but I feel it looks too grass like to be pure fairy, the cited examples were clearly fairies with plant elements) H.Lilligant - Fighting (Here's where the distinction from Cottonee really comes into play with the two diverging from their initial Grass type) Krookodile - Dark (Has crook in its name and has a darker colour scheme and more aggressive personality) G.Darmanitan (Zen) - Fire Sigilyph - Psychic (It has more psychic attributes than Swoobat so it only one can be pure Psychic, I'd choose Sigilyph) G.Yamask - Ground (it needs some reason it be its own form) Tirtouga / Carracosta - Rock (Unlike most fossils the Rock typing seems natural so seems fair to let them keep it) H.Zorua / H.Zoroark - Ghost (Normal feels tacked on) G.Stunfisk - Steel H.Braviary - Psychic (To contast with Mandibuzz)
I always thought the Bug and Dragon typings were unnecessary. The typing shouldn’t be based on what the creature is. We don’t have fish or bird types. And then we have what seems to be dragons in Charizard and Garydos that don’t get the dragon type so it becomes inconsistent with itself.
Bug I see because of the games' inspiration from bug catching. But dragon easily could have been a slightly more general "mythical" or "kaiju" type. Although, there was a planned bird type in gen 1, no? Maybe the solution should be that they kept both a flying and a bird type.
There was ALMOST a Bird type, but since we don't have it I see what you mean. To me Fighting falls into this group as well; any Pokemon can punch or kick...
@@emperorcubone yah definitely like the thought of the elements and such as typings over just labeling a creature what it is. But a bird typing would’ve really helped keep a bunch of birds fr being normal type or the flying type when they shouldn’t be a flyer.
Just curious- Are you excluding Cheren's Pidove from *Challenge* *Mode?* I understand what you mean, he doesn't use one in *Normal* *Mode* for Black 2 & White 2, but, he does actually use a Pidove in *Challenge* *Mode* during his initial Gym Battle. Although, it's lame that to unlock Challenge Mode, you have to beat Black 2 in order to fully play White 2 in Challenge Mode. Meaning, unless you play the entirety of Black 2 on a separate Cartridge, the Challenge Key is only useful to make White 2 harder, while White 2's Easy Key is only useful for unlocking Black 2's Easy Mode. But, if you're just counting Cheren's Non-Challenge Mode Team, that's understandable. I mean... what kinda person would play through one game just to play the opposite version on Challenge Mode in these days, amirite? Ok, I'll admit it. 2023 was the Pokémon binge year for me. White, B2, W2 Challenge Mode, LeafGreen, Emerald, Colosseum, XD Gale Of Darkness, Platinum, Pokémon Violet The Teal Mask & The Indigo Disc. I used my Colosseum Team for The Indigo Disc. Originally, it was meant to be a mix of White, LeafGreen, Platinum, Colosseum, Emerald & XD. But, there was too much overlap.

7:19 Nah, Stunfisk should be electric. It's literally in its name, STUN (in some games this name of a status effect corresponds to PKMN's paralyze). And it was electric in beta.

Hmm, I hadn't considered a roundup at the end, but that might be fun!
It would have been so cool if sawsbuck had different secondary types based on their seasons
Pretty sure I did that in the Triple Types video for Unova. But yeah, I think if Sawsbuck came out today it would have changed types like that.
I love the series so much! Have a Merry Christmas Everyone
Hi EC. Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to All! And to all a good night!
Thank you 😊
Great video. Imagine if every pokemon had 3 types?
That's actually a good concept, it'll change everything in strategy and I like to think about it, thanks 😊
I did a series on if SOME Pokemon had three types, but all of them? That'd be a lot. Probably just slap Ground on to most everything...
