I am doing this constantly with my guitar tones but just with an EQ on the DI, usually to add squelch or cut buzz / mud. Can get different resonances on the low chugs. A tool like this doing auto-match is nice
I've been waiting for this. Great work JST team 👍🏼
so whats the easiest way to explain this?? I give you a preset yet your guitar is not like my hum bucker so when you plugs yours into the preset it sounds totally different and this fixes it with out messing with the unique guitar pickup tone??
very nice to have it as stand alone and not only in Disruptor ! thx !
We may only miss arrows to switch between DI recording without navigating through menu for quick testing. ( just like there is for the presets) :P
Thank You Joey❤
This is a super good idea. I can't wait to give it a go.
this is awesome guys. well done
Genius plug-in! 👍
Wow that looks super useful!
Bought it, tried it, nice! But is there a way to get more "presets" (DI-source-material)?
This could really come in handy for me
This one reminds me a 14-year old plugin Red Shift by AcmeBarGig, but with modern tech of course, seems very cool.
Life saver 🔥🔥🔥
Huh. Not something I'd ever thought of but goddamn this is a great idea
This is super interesting
Damnnn.... Ive bought disruptor for this feature and now its a standalone haha
Cant complain tho ❤❤❤❤
What does Level Matching do in this plugin? I understand and hear Spectral matching, but not so much with level matching.
If I have some noise that my pickups catch at home and make a Profile, then i use another guitar with this plugin , does it mean that i got twice as much noise?
So this pretty much eliminates the need for pickup upgrades?!
The only thing I'd change is the preset selection menu. Make it more like a category browser, where all the presets are laid out and you can simply change preset with a single click instead of 2-3 clicks, because it kinda disrupts your creative flow with all those mouse clicks.
is some of these guitar parts being done with the odin 2?
I'm about to this on a midi bass DI, and was planning on running it through Hellraiser, anyone have any tips? 😊
Is this the same di match from the disruptor plugin? But like stand alone version?
Yep
That first song sounds amazing what is it
Glad you put Pop Punk preset in there 😃
Pop punk is cringe!
@@geneticsmatter3834 😢😊 I hate my phone

This should also work to get dead strings sounding like new ones again :D
Nah man, nothing can mimic new strings... Especially bass strings. You'll just bring up clankiness instead of the metallic overtones that new strings give you.
@@Johnnylaurelli overtones are also captured by EQ matching imho
@@ayeapprove I gotta disagree. I’ve tried in the past. Guitar is absolutely more forgiving but there’s something about bass strings that doesn’t work. Dead strings have less natural sustain, you can’t boost overtones that aren’t present in the actual signal and dead strings have sharper transients…. Almost upright bass vibes. Like I said, guitar I think you can get away with but especially thick bass strings is too night and day difference
@@Johnnylaurelli sounds like you tried before yeah, I tried boiling my bass strings but that only lasted for a day or so. Fresh bass strings are a nice thing to have
not really unless they also find a plugin that will keep them from going out of tune lol. or you know, outright breaking
Does the plug-in also help to fake double tracked guitars?
For example, you record a guitar track and copy it. On the copy, you change the DI with the help of DI Match. Then the DIs go into an ampsim. One track hard panned left, the other hard panned right. What would the result be?
You need variable delay between the two tracks
My question is the following if I have a recorded audio of any pickup, for example: review here on UA-cam of any guitar. Can I convert the part of the video that captures only the guitar sound into audio? Can I save the "profile" of the sound from that pickup?
Yes and no. Can you do it? Yes, however it will be compressed via the audio codec on UA-cam and therefore the detail of the profile will be poor.
So technically you can download DI guitar tracks from NTM, put them in DI Match and then copy processing chain from NTM to obtain almost the same sound of the guitar? I guess this will be my most valuable bought in last ages :)
Lol yep pretty much
what's the difference between this and izotope match eq? the gui?
Completely different. Izotope uses a snapshot, di match takes the entire signal to create a profile. Both are dope, just completely different applications

Does this only benefit hi gain tones? I wanted to know if I can turn my EMGs into a strat? Shame you cannot make any Active pickups into Passive pickups!
You can do that! It will switch from passive to active and vice versa.
I would be curious to hear the difference between an EMG match with a fender singlecoil
It’s awesome. And vice versa!!
@@joeymusic Can you say you don't need multiple guitars anymore and can get any sound with just one? Is there a small difference?
Interesting. I’m good using ozone but I wouldn’t mind giving this a whirl. There a demo available?
I’m dumb. Says free trial at the end.
This is different from ozone due to the zero latency nature of the fast convolution.
can we call it "brand new strings simulator"?
Really interesting in solo but It seems to not making so much difference in the mix, no?
Try it for yourself. You have to listen to the differences in the dynamics. Not just what it sounds like with a full chord.
@@joeymusic Ok thank you 🙌
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here. No matter what I do, no matter what profile is loaded, no matter what I chang in my amp Sim or EQ I get ear-shattering ice picks on initial transients. I also get an insane amount of feedback that causes me to have to turn to my ampsim preamp gain down almost completely.
Also getting spring noise so bad that it's absolutely destroying anything I play. I'm using a fret wrap and have multiple cable ties around my Springs and even went so far as to shove a paper towel in between the Springs. Still happening.
This stuff even happens when I make a profile and use it on the exact same guitar in exact same tuning.
I know its sounds dumb, but have you tried to turn down to output in the DI match and then bump up the output in the guitar plug in?
Seems to have done the trick for me.
The spring issue i cannot really help you with.
This is very important part of ampsimilation. I always use for this Neutron 4. But first who was made it was positive grid BIAS so it’s not so revolutionary 😛. But don’t give me wrong I’m very like what you doing
There was an update to bias couple days ago which improved the engine and even made it to where you can simulate an acoustic guitar and even a bass. This won't do that
I'm not hearing a difference when I use this. Nothing as dramatic as the video no matter what preset I choose... I'll try reinstalling, I guess.
Now u help thanx
how lifeless and noisy my di signal are huhu
I just EQ my bass DI’s and send them to an amp
oh shit glen fricker is going to hate this video xD
Not really. Tried it out... Play 1 dissonant chord and the thing sounds like fried butthole.
Nah he’ll like it and still advocate for cabs
I need this
Holy fuuuuuuuu
Really this isnt a good idea, really its just essentially just putting something like a tube screamer on it. Also hearing the examples.... Youll be fighting the eq to take out the nasty harmonics this introduces.
Acoustic raw sounded amazingly good and turned nasty with this on.
You can match the acoustic to any other acoustic. Just try it, that’s why we make free trials!
@@joeymusic that's great and all but the problem is that you only capture a very tiny portion of what the tone is and not by a string to string fret to fret which should improve the results. Also needs to have someone to check out the issues of really bad processing as with a number of these give a very boxy tone which after the fact would need a ton of eq adjustments to fix it so it didn't sound like you played a room reverb into an amp.
kinda felt the same. the way it matches some signals it adds a lot of harsh resonance and makes thing sound bad. but the demo I used did make the bad sounding DI tracks artist have sent me sound better. it's just not doing anything good for good sounded tracks I recorded myself.
It's not enough of a difference according to Glenn Fricker... (Love you Glenn but come on...)
Just add an eq, compressor and a tube screamer. Done
@@MelloState Not sure what point you are trying to make in regard to my post.
@@kutnersuicide they aren't the raw di, these are di signals after eq, compression and possibly after a tube screamer or such.
Try this plugin out and run it into your normal hi-gain setting, it will sound horrid
Not the case. The idea is that you can match anything to anything else and you have control over how much (both spectral and level). It’s useful in its utility in so many ways that we literally can’t explain for you. Just try it.
it's a scam. Half the tones are trash recordings which make my guitar sound worse. It's more practical to just eq match from a di track.
Is it April 1st? Because this plugin is a joke.
Fabfilter Pro Q3 Spectral Match. 🥱🙄
Not true - this is real time convolution. Meaning you can use it live or while recording.
