    Great work whoever put the punchline of the whole bit in quotes on the thumbnail. Spent the whole thing thinking surely that won’t be the punchline....oh, yeah it is”

      I saw the thumbnail. Read your comment. And yet I was still surprised by the punchline because I had completely forgotten it listening to him speak lol.

    Who says Wilde was the greatest genius who ever lived? He's in the top few great british (Edit: Irish) wits, I'll give him that...

    • @Jesse__H
      @Jesse__H 4 роки тому +6

      He's in the top few great wits of the british isles, then 🙄.
      But yeah I take your point. I certainly should've called him Irish. Which then means we gotta compare him with Joyce (re: wit), against whom he fares even worse than before.
      All this to say it's a bit strange to call Wilde one of the world's great geniuses, but I do love his works and I don't mean to denigrate him.

      His works make it pretty clear he was gay, i realized writers like oscar wilde, clive barker and chuck palahniuk were gay just by reading their novels, the random sexualizing of male bodies with little interest shown in female bodies makes it obvious

      Sexism? Oscar Wilde? Since when? He was an editor for a woman's magazine where he said that beauty is also knowledge. He designed his wife's wedding dress. He and his wife both invented a prototype of a skirt that is similar to trousers. He wasn't sexist. Yes his quotes make jokes, but as a woman I was amused by them.
