Yes, I get tested for all of these every 3 months as I'm a type 2 diabetic. I would have added C-Peptide as a 7th test. I'm trying to convince my doctors to give me that test as well to make sure my insulin levels are ok and I don't end up with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Love your videos on keto and carnivore. I now eat ketovore instead of just keto.

I genuinely believe this video will save lives.
I do an annual check-up every year, and each time I tell my doctor to "test for everything" but they've never done any of these 6 blood tests.
I have a long family history of diabetes, and my dad had passed away from it shortly before my most recent annual check-up. When I told my doctor this, he literally told me, "Well, then, we'll start testing you for diabetes from now on."
I told him, "What?!? You weren't already testing me for this?"
He told me that even though I had been telling him to "test for everything," I would have had to specifically ask for the hba1c test to get it. And he had never offered it before because my fasting glucose had always come out normal.
So I finally took the hba1c test for the first time and it turns out that I'm prediabetic (a1c 5.9). I was super pissed at my doctor because I was probably prediabetic for years and never knew because they never tested for it (even though I said "test for EVERYTHING!")
Bottom Line: Do your research and go to your doctor prepared to ask the right questions. Doctors are in the business of treatment, not prevention. They're not going to help you prevent a specific ailment unless you specifically ask them to. They'll be more than happy to prescribe medicine AFTER you get sick, though. Be diligent, and God Speed.

Sigh this is why I'm here now I ask for everything and yet "everything" comes back good or "fine" and I know somethings not right I feel weak all the time I get sick every other weak which is a sign if a poor immune system my craving are all over the place my blood circulation sucks and none of it makes any sense for my age weight height and activity levels. I feel like I'm pre-diabetic or have some sort of auto immune disorder or hormonal issue no one is checking for despite me asking

I enjoy your videos because I always seem to pick up useful information no matter what the subject. My blood sugar would be much higher on some days, and it was driving me crazy because I was doing nothing out of the ordinary. When you mentioned sleep and blood sugar in this video, I went back through my blood sugar data and compared it with the data from my CPAP machine. Low and behold, the high blood sugar days coincided with the poor sleep quality days! What a load off my mind! One of your previous videos, along with this one, alerted me to the importance of the HDL/triglyceride ratio. I've also gathered much more information that has helped me on my road to improved health from your videos. Too much to list here. Knowledge is empowering, especially when it gives you the means to control your own fate. Thank you so much for all that you do. It has definitely made a difference in my life!

I'm Casein sensitive (which I didn't know until recently) and always struggled with skin flares, dryness, itchy and inflamed skin, lymph congestion and sinus problems. All this indicates gut problems too. And I always had low hemoglobin and half the symptoms listed here for B12 deficiency. All I know now is information found on great UA-cam channels like Health Couch Kait's. My GPs never looked deeply into my problems.

My last physical was at the end of January, 5 1/2 months after starting keto, I requested a fasting insulin test in my labs and the doctor put it without question. The result was 2.1 and my lab has 2.6-24.9 as their standard. Obviously I was very happy with that and at my annual physical, my doctor (wanted to put me on a statin in Aug.) was very impressed with everything. Waiting for my CT scan in July to show how my severe fatty liver is doing.

I had to push my Doctor for a Fasting Insulin Test & she admitted that she had never ordered one,... It came back at 17 which she was okay with because it was within parameters BUT most Doctors specializing in T2 Diabetes would suggest that that number is 3 to 4 times what they like to see.
My Cardiologist sent me to an Endocrinologist & she did not care what my Fasting Insulin numbers were :(
You will NEVER lose weight or get healthier when your Insulin is elevated because your body is in fat storage mode instead of fat consumption mode.

The HDL/Trig. was a biggie for me because my HDL rose from just 41 to 76 and my Triglycerides dropped to 56 from 76 which meant since my HDL was higher than my Triglycerides my ratio was 0.74. Yes, my total cholesterol was 218 (high) and my LDL was 131 (borderline high), but my doctor never said a word about them. I think he was happy because my improvement reflects well on him and how he gets paid.

Besides blood tests, there's another, very important and very ignored kind of test - hair mineral analysis test.
It's CRUCIAL. I did mine after 15+ years of being sick, and I saw incredible results, that no doctor ever thought prescribing to me. Basically I have mercury and aluminium toxicity (and it's not a joke), and because of that I have essential minerals deficiencies, and essential minerals toxicities too.

You cannot diagnose with a bllood test. I know you eill argue about this so go ahead. The blood test just gives level within the blood which the doctor will prescribe acdrug to bribg those levels to what they call normal kevels . That isnt diagnoding a provlem that is causing the blood levels to change. The other fact id every oersons body is different and our bidies run in unique systems which cannot be normalised ibto a blanket graph. All rhey are doing is nadking a problem ir creatibg a new peoblem. This isnt diagnosis

Because it’s not necessary for most people. Contrary to what this channel would have you believe, not all healthcare providers want to push unnecessary and costly tests down your throat. There is no need to go looking for excessive things to treat if you are seeing your provider for a regular check up. If you are really worried about developing diabetes despite a normal glucose level, you can make dietary and lifestyle changes regardless.

Fasting insulin test specifically its a C-peptide test. They prefer c-peptide because to distinguish the injected external insulin vs. the natural body insulin. The external injected insulin doesn't have c-peptide. So the natural insulin has a c-peptide to make the result accurate.
