I feel like this is also a commentary on the complaints about the wiki being full of SCPs that don't meant everyone's individual expectations. It feels like a message to accept the wiki for everything it is, good and bad, and move on from the entries you don't like without obsessing over & ranting about them. It feels like a warning about the anger and dissatisfaction that feeding those emotions can bring.
Or maybe I'm just reading something else into it

The author's mother died earlier this year, so this story is sort of a wat to cope with that. Many meanings can be drawn from it, I suppose.
To comment on your main point, while I agree that people should move on from SCPs they don't like, this is one of the "thousands" scps. They are contest winners and are usually a really big addition the the wider scp lore. This one doesn't feel like that, so I feel criticism around it would be fair.

Fame, okay sure, that doesn't mean what it used to in the Internet age. So maybe your situation is worse than I'm imagining, but I'd bet good money that it's better than you feel as though it is, because you've probably never experienced the REAL suffering that is a daily reality to thousands of people in your city that are basically invisible to you. An SCP about a wormy, talking, floating seal? Can easily bet that's just a decoy, and the real subject is something else quite mundane and yet very much strangely relatable.
14:20: Almost sounds like Benson from Regular Show. Almost.
Instead of being "the next Jack Kirby/Stan Lee", why not become an up-and-coming Bruce Timm, Glen Murakami, or James Tucker?
26:48: Bill's more of a yellow cyclops triangle in one Theraprism. Still, appreciate how the Seal acknowledges "tonal disparity".
29:40: Heh. Even with the Seal revealing their name, they sure kept their ambiguity and air of mystery. If only the Mass Effect Reapers were this successful.
That green, anti-Darwin SCP got got by incredulity.
And I thought Anakin Skywalker had big esteem issues. This guy goes way beyond.
I like this Spaghetti Jones and his steed.
40:32: Did not expect this brick joke to 32:43.
Why do the glowing orbs on the Seal's library somewhat remind me of CLANNAD? Come to think of it, the ending feels like CLANNAD all over again, with some Dickensian Christmas Carol, complete with bookends.

I wonder how many realized the researcher involved is the same guy over 001 Proposal: The Ones that got Away?
Poor guy, ever since having to deal with that proposal he can’t seem to catch a break. And yet I still cannot help but laugh remembering the file on ‘The Ones that got Away’ namely the researcher trying to put a file on it together and his trip to meet the O5 council

Edit: realized Wally didn’t say he wouldn’t lie, he said he’d be honest with Lag (or however it’s spelt) if Lag was honest with Wally. So obviously the real issue is Lag isn’t even being honest with himself. “if Wally said he wouldn’t lie. Then says he doesn’t have a name, then latter says his name has always been Wallace. Did he lie, or did he rewrite the observable universes into one where he’s called Wally so this conversation can move forward?”

Wow...I never thought a SCP reading would ever hit me with the feels, until today. And, of all times, while I'm at my cubical making 3D models for the company I work for. It was pretty hard to try and hold back the tears, but I was able to pull it off. I've dealt with similar feelings of burnout and depression before, especially in college 2-3 years ago, and I still sort of struggle with the same feelings, albeit not as bad as it was back then. Even though I was overflowing with ideas, I lacked the motivation to depict them in any form. I nearly failed. But, I somehow managed to pull through. Today the depression isn't really present, but the lack of motivation to portray ideas in drawings or anything still lingers. I hope one day I can get over this hurdle because I miss being able to express my creative ideas at their fullest and I fear that it could impact my job negatively one day. Anyway, I felt like this story connected with me at some sort of personal level. I haven't felt the way I feel right now, as I'm typing this, in what seems like a long time. I didn't think anyone who was dealing with similar feelings would be able to portray or explain it in a way that's not just in a few words, but this story proved me wrong in every way. Whoever the author for this SCP is, you have my deepest gratitude. I really should listen to this again when I'm not at work and I should probably stop typing this out since the feels are starting to come back. Again, to the author of the article, thank you.
One more thing, I heard about an incident that happened in the author's family. So, to the author, you have my condolences.

I’d recently finished rewatching The Ones That Got Away, so I was a bit disappointed that the same Dr Lague that accepted his shortcomings in that story would so quickly devolve into a spiral of literal self-destruction. That said, the story makes sense, esp from a metatextual perspective, so I’m glad that he got a happy ending.

I feel that scp 5000 was a sort of turning point for the x000 scps where the entries started to really resemble tales more than articles. I always personslly found the scps like 2000 and 3000 intresting on how they explained sort of fundemental functions of the foundation, or how 1000 and 4000 made great additions to the universe which other authors to itterate on.
I just find it a shame that we don't see those types of x000 articles anymore

@@EspeonMistress00I don't see a good reason though why more simple x000 articles like 1000 or 4000 are effectively gone from the x000 competetion pool. They were much more flexibe for authors to utilize to create new articles unlike 5000 and 6000 which are essentially tales and thus cannot be itterated upon by other authors to the same degree as older x000 articles.

like this piece a lot, and while I did have a few issues with it initially, I believe this deserves its recognition regardless, and I give my deepest condolences to the author themselves too. Now, on to my thoughts: I love this as a narrative experience, and its commentary hits close to home for me. Like some, I find myself relating to Lague a lot as my strive for perfectionism (professionalism too) has always been my own hubris and being a workaholic doesn't help too. EX: (If I want to work on a book in my free-time I will hyperfocus on “perfecting” it until it's molded into a masterpiece even if it takes all day and all night in the process). I have had quite a few peaks in my life too and due to those great accomplishments, I have steeped into a great and spiraling burnout that has taken a toll on my life as a result and it's led to a long depression. I know I can't achieve such things again like I want to as I have too many good ideas to choose from, like looking at an endless canvas. I lost all of my friends as a result and I pushed everyone away from me. I'm all alone now besides my supplies and failures to reflect on. I do not wish such a burden and suffering to fall upon anyone. I'm doing everything I can to make a difference and to recover from it but If you're reading this then thank you it means a lot to me. This took me all night to write so I'm sorry if this is too long so do forgive me and to leave on a high-note I want to thank the Exploring Series for being with us for all these years. It's been fun to listen to. I've been reading the SCP mythos since 2014. I've seen a lot of awesome works since then and now there is an 8000th slot? It's impressive how time flies by and of course there will always be more in the future too. I might even write in my own pieces of work on the website but we'll see until then!
