- Here it is folks, the one all my Instagram fans have been waiting for !
The Ford 7810 with a stainless steel straight pipe.
We change the engine oil and filters plus the coolant filter then let her rip !

Amazing how clean running the 78 is, you’re pulling a load and the exhaust looks breathable…

Used an old ford driveshaft as a straight pipe on the old 4020. The noise level was unbelievable especially when running the silage chopper. Watching the little cone of fire flicker at the top of the stack was well worth the permeant hearing loss... lol.
I once had a 1954 David Brown "25" which had what they (DB) called a 'stack pipe' - almost a straight pipe, but with a slightly narrowed throat and a pair of cross pins right at the bottom. That little DB sounded really well. As one old farmer said "By 'eck, that little bugger can raught out when she's worrakin' 'ard" - And he was referring to the tractor!
I bet Mr Saunders is going to be watching this with a box of kleenex to hand, 🤣🤣 sounds blooming marvelous.......however.....its not quite a 1455 is it, lol. Awesome vid mucker!!!

Love the sound of them straight piped Ford's don't care if it's in a movie or one of your videos. The English country side is so beautiful. We have scenery like it here in the states especially in North Georgia where I live and it's all timeless beauty

Over here I have moved to a rural location in South Australia (35 years away from farming), my new neighbour asked me to help feed the sheep. went to the farm he said jump on the tractor grab a big square bale and feed in the lower paddock. I grew up in Devon and went to Bicton agricultural college in the 80's. The tractor was ford 7700, the last time I drove one of these was at college, seemed like yesterday. Growing up we were loyal to MF but the ford was a good bit of kit.
Even though there were very few words, definitely one of your best videos. The sound of a Diesel engine working is a beautiful thing.,

Seems to been a good tractor purchase, runs lovely 😊 & with a great sound too, for me the filming was excellent, not that easy to film anything on the move , without camera movement, but it was very good, lovely countryside out your way to , really nice setting to the film ,Thankyou 👍👍👍👍👍

I Think You And George Could Have Some sort Of Working Days With your Kit and Maybe Some people Who have Never Driven These Older Tractors could have a Go for a Bit of Money to a Go to a Good Cause ?

It does have a pleasant bark to it though I'm not really a fan of straight pipes, it certainly does an engine good to have a decent workout once in a while. There was a MF 168 where I worked (which now is possibly at Four Winds Farm) which never laboured, always driven in the highest gear at just over idle. It used to take us young 'uns a few weeks of working it to stop it smoking. Great video again Mucker, thanks.
Great to see, Sussex Tractors got bought out by Oakes Bros and then this year changed again to Haynes Agri, the old depot at Clemsfold Corner Horsham is still operating.
I was a truck (lorry) driver for years. I worked for a company that had International Navistar trucks. For a number of years I drove one with a DT 466 and a straight pipe. It sounded great, but the cab had lousy sound deadening and no air conditioning. Needless to say I have some tinnitus due to that.

about 5 years ago I was helping on my buddy dairy farm in NZ , muffler rotted out on his IT-28 cat loader found 3" dairy pipe had to expand it to fit.
No it's in the corner of the shed now and will stay there.

Used to drive a 78 bk in the 90s when I was a 14, loved it, classic! Might have to try get myself one and do her up. Sound beautiful with that exhaust

Wicked 👍👍👍 I worked on a farm years ago and he bought a 5610 with after market TB turbo , for the requirement of 100 horse to drive a Reco forager , it uesd to howl and black smoke like wouldn't believe, did the job though, until the bottom end went. good stuff ou kid, keep at it 👍👍👍👍

Propper old horse power, I use to pull a 10 ton weeks trailer full of wheat with one of them back in 1981, she use to grunt pulling up the A68 from Hexham, good old days.

It amazes me as to how much time you spend on the road with your tractors.
Most tractors over here are delivered to a farm and don't leave the property till it's hauled away for scrap. 🇨🇦

Excellent probably still prefer it with original pipe on her ! She’s a Sussex Tractors machine my homeland ! Spent many hours in tractors supplied by Mr Campbell and his great team ! Might even know where that old girl came from ! :)

Reminds me how fords and early NH had to be specced with a weight block, had a new 5635 in 1999, and I had to buy the weight block separately!

Thanks for the anti-depressant! Lovely bloody row! I drove an old Cargo (when they had drum brakes and crap headlights) and the exhaust decided to part ways. It sounded bloody glorious but didn’t help the old non-turbo Dover engine pull very well! The cab rotted the same as that tractor. Must be a Ford thing.. 😄
Looking forward to seeing the work on the cab as I need to tackle my 6610 soon. Sounds great under a bit of pressure but looking forward to seeing her with the standard exhaust again. Keep the straight pipe and you could fit about 4 ft of pipe under the precleaner like some 7000s. Every time I see one it has a higher pre cleaner than the last 😅

Great upload sir and very nicely shot. Reminds me of carting some years back with an 1174, 7810 and a TS115. The 7810 was no match for the TS but was by far the most dramatic and fun to use. We had the splitter on a switch on the top of the gearstick. Not quite as clean running as yours but she'd still pull some weight. Looking forward to the next vid. Cheers. Tom

These were everywhere back in the day! All the contractors around here had them, there was a fleet up the road with 12 tonne Richard Western at the silage

I run three 8030 ford's with stainless pipes pulling 14 ton suger cane trailers they sound awesome at full noise. Love the vid bud
These 6cyl Fords are a popular marine engines, my father has two in his boat, they sound good, are very reliable and economical and seem to last forever if you look after them properly.
I think most of the Marinised ones are a version of the 2715E (better engine overall)

Considerin 7810 non turbo she sounded really sweet an unlike most Ford's very little exhaust emissions 🙄😳 reckon she's gonna be. Some bus after resto 💪👍

Looks and sounds about like shifting my 65 cummins powered single axle White dump truck. On another note, with spring here I hope to see an aircraft video and in the next few weeks I hope to get my 38 Aeronca Chief out, washed up and inspected after sad to say a 4 year absence. Watch for it.
