It's outrageous that colleges still demand around $2k for a class which I can learn completely free online because of educators like you. Thank you, hopefully I pass the final
@@SawFinMath at northwestern university im paying around 6k for this class. you are far better than my calc prof already. I take it next term so I am hoping I can get a head start here!
@@davidcabreramartinez4892 Yeah, that's my entire point. Education should be free and it's bad that we have to pay thousands for a piece of paper even if we have the knowledge
I believe the payment is just so that you could have the credit towards a degree. A lot of college campuses are public so you can just walk in and sit down for a class. Unfortunately, colleges just operate like a business and care more about money than the education.
Massive respect for teaching this. You lost me after about 8 mins. I have no idea what was going on. But will have some coffee and have another crack tomorrow.
My professor beat around the bush and never really explained anything, but watching your video on 1.5x speed made me understand how these work, why they're useful, and how to do it. thank you so much for going out of your way to upload this, you are a lifesaver to me and I'm sure plenty of others.
Ma'am, I am from Bangladesh. I am a big fan of your lectures. Even a layman can master any math topic from your lectures. Thank you so much for your wonderful and valuable content.
As someone who has taken and passed Linear Algebra in the past, I must admit this math class is a fun and challenging and worthwhile math class especially for computer science. It is your first taste of abstract mathematics. While the calculations in Linear Algebra are tedious but straightforward (if you know the tricks), what makes this class a challenge are the proofs and some of the concepts (especially basis and dimension, linear dependence vs linear independence, subspaces, vector spaces, null and column spaces, eigenvalues vs eigenvectors, and so on). Also, my advice for people taking this class, "do not be fooled by the course title". This math class is not a high school level math class; it is at the university level. It is one of the reasons why many people do badly in this class is because they underestimate the difficulty of this class. In fact, it is normally taken at least after two semesters of Calculus and taken concurrently with Calculus 3/ (Multi-variable or Vector Calculus to be precise) and/or Elementary Differential Equations (two concurrent level math classes). Students need to develop the mathematical maturity (e.g. critical thinking and abstract reasoning) for Linear Algebra. Also, this math class prepares for higher level math classes (e.g. Abstract Algebra, Number Theory, Partial Differential Equations, etc.). Good luck to anyone taking this math class.
I took it and it was like you said, fun but challenging. This semester my DiffEQ class is combined with a Linear Algebra Class, so im absolutely crushing the LA bits lol.

This was easy to understand. I was wondering why I would need to use a matrix to solve linear equations that I can do easy in my head until you said 5 or more equations. This is wonderful will definitely finish the course.
it took my professor 3 x 50-minute lectures to barely teach this and I didn't understand it at all. To only 18 minutes and was completely able to finish the assignment that was given to me today for homework like I knew this professionally. Time is Money.
As a student currently taking a linear algebra course, I have found Your explanations very useful. Thank You for explaining the concept in detail. If I could add something to the video, I would add examples where you solve problems and get a raw of 0 or some free variables in the solution set. That way, the examples will be more diverse. Moreover, what I find very useful is the practice exercise at the end, which strengthens the concepts discussed in the video.
Your videos seem to be great! Can you please tell in which lecture have you covered particular solutions, special solutions and complete solutions. I am unable to find so that would be really helpful!

@@SawFinMath Thanks! I see it. Since my course is active, am I fine going through this list here, or are there significant differences between the two?
The new list will cover all sections, including Markov chains, etc. I also feel the sequence of topics lends itself better to understanding the ‘why’ and not just the ‘how’. But nothing wrong with the original series.
Hello Prof BREHM. I follow your course from TAIWAN, Thanks for this amazing course. I wanna know if you don't have a worksheet for this course. it would be amazing if we can have it
Even though I have three years of college behind me, who needs college? It's the experience that matters anyway. Imagine watching videos on calculus 1-3, ode's, linear algebra, circuit analysis 1-2, signals and systems, digital logic, computer architecture, software design patterns, programming in C++ and python, microcontrollers and buying DIY electrical/computer/Arduino kits to simulate a lab environment. That could probably get you a job if you're ambitious enough.
I can't understand my linear algebra teacher at all. She never starts the question from scratch, and when she does problems she goes from problem 4 to 11 then back to 4. Really glad I found this course. Just out of curiosity, what textbook is being used?
Been wanting to take this class so bad but I don’t have the time with work and family. I feel like this is a puzzle piece missing from my brain to connect me to many concepts. I took differential equations before this class not knowing it existed first lol
Paused at 2:21, let me see if I can do this. Ok, we need the inv matrix, so the inv determinant is 1 / 1*-2 - 1 * 3. So -1/5. So the new matrix is: {{-2, -3}, {-1, 1}} multiply that by the scalar and we get. {{2/5, 3/5}, {1/5, -1/5}}. Ok so now we multiply that by the output vector: {5, 10} * {{2/5, 3/5}, {1/5, -1/5}} = {{4}, {1}} Ok, let's hit play and see if that's what the lady got. Drum roll....
Yay, got it right! Woohoo! Wrote my notation weirdly - should have been {4, 1} but I'm calling that a win. The lady used some bizarre black magic to solve hers though. I'm not sure why she didn't just do an inverse transform? Obviously it worked though but all this advanced algebra is very confusing.
The way you write your row operations could be confusing for students who follow the definite on the book. "Replace one row by the sum of itself and a multiple of another row."
