I have a question: Should I wash my rocks before I use them? The bottoms of mine are a tiny bit mud stained. ( They were in my yard). How long should I let them dry? It seems like it will take forever for them to dry completely for painting. I ❤ these pastel designs!!! TSM! 😊
Yes, you should definitely wash them to make sure any dust/dirt is removed. I don't let them dry forever...I figure with surface washing, the water is not penetrating super deep inside the rock (I usually use a scrub brush and dish soap). In warmer weather I'll put them outside in the sun, or this time of year I put them in front of my little drying fan or on top of a heater vent and then paint when they're dry!
