    “What’s it doing!? I don’t know!” 😂 (every time anyone looks at photos of my fiancé and me)

    Nice tips. Missing some before and after correct posing-photos. Just to really show the difference.

      I'd have to do a shoot to show that :) Don't ever want to post the bad photos of my clients that didn't make the cut but hoping to do an instructional video on posing at some point!

    Absolutely loved this advice! My bf's step-mom does photography and the best part of the whole process is when she's takes the extra time to adjust every arm, leg, and piece of hair to produce the best pictures

      That's so great that she does that! Many photographers don't and it can make or break a photo!

    Thank you for this video. I really worry about my big arms and this has really been useful. I also see the dead fish arm and I haven't seen a video that addresses it. It's exciting to watch you. Best of love, from South Africa

      I am so glad it helped! It's sometimes really just the most simple changes that make the most impact :)

    This is amazing advice thank you so much!! Not being able to see yourself makes it more difficult to know how to help the photographer, so I definitely appreciate it! These are tips I'm going to remember on my wedding day!

    I appreciate the information but I think it would be much more helpful if you would have given people more visualizations of what you're explaining. Remember, you're the professional we are not so sometimes its a bit hard to visualize what the differences are but these are great tips! Thanks again!

    im shy and probably the most awkward person to photograph. it just never feels natural when someone is there taking photos at an appointed time. I need practice for sure!

      Try having a conversation with them while shooting. I do that with my couples and make sure to shoot at the right moments. It helps them feel at ease :)

    Great video! Do you think it's helpful to bring friends along to an engagement session to help make us laugh and smile?

    • @cavinelizabeth
      @cavinelizabeth  5 років тому +5

      Faith Rackley never! Friends can distract from building rapport with photographer. It’s the photographers job to help you laugh and smile 😊😊😊

    Top posing mistake of ALL TIME: grooms and groomsmen covering their crotch with both hands during the ceremony or during group photos. I'm surprised how often I see it on random wedding videos, photos, IG etc.
    I gotta disagree on the "dead fish arm" though. I know, awards this awards that, but I never bother with them anyway. That said, I have tried doing both hands in pocket with my gents but they end up looking timid. So I usually go for one hand in pocket and the other where it falls. I make sure there's a watch on the out of pocket hand (usually left wrist) to give a lil something though.

    You addressed the topic of silly jokes quiet a lot in your videos. Can you tell us some which usually works?
    Unfortunally my humor is so dry that I am the only amused person, so I skip that strategy.

      Sometimes mine don't work, but I try to read the people and listen to the kind of jokes they make with each other and mirror those while shooting. Even talking to people and posing them or giving compliments while shooting helps loosen them up :)
