Did the very bottom screw where you pump the gear case oil in have a gasket on it? I bought a new 50hp tohatsu this year and changed the oil for the first time and it did not have the gasket. Top one did but the bottom one didn't.
I have the same motor. Will break it in next month. How are you liking it after 100 hours of use? Pros/cons? Any tips? I saved your video for future reference . Thanks
I've had this motor for 2 and 1/2 years now. Overall, I've been very happy with it for the most part. Efficient, quiet and very easy to maintain other than sourcing parts, which is a nightmare. It's very good build of quality, but it is missing a few things that I do wish it had compared to a 40 mark such as enough tension on the arm to leave it lifted up or at least a way to lock it in an upright position when it's trailered small nitpicky things

Mine did not either, but it will not hurt to have one. You can buy a pack and Amazon cheap it's a pretty universal size
@BuckcreekTV ah ok, I had 2 so I put one on. Was beginning to second guess myself and was thinking about taking it off. Thanks for replying.
@ghost38901 no problem, glad I can help
