Good video. It's amazing to me how this bike is 20 years old. I was a freshman in high school when it was introduced. My model is a 2004. I love it dearly. I am getting nervous that parts are starting to dry up. It's a shame.

I have a 2001 FZ one myself. It has sat for the last 12 years. Due to a fall from working, I’ve had several surgeries and now I feel pretty good these days. I was so worried about my bike. It was in the garage, I did have stabil in the gas, but for sitting 12 years, can’t be good. So I called Ivan, I have his jet kits in. He said drain gas, new gas prime carbs drain did that several times and it started up. I put seafoam in ran a couple tanks of that, and there is kind of a bobble in the lower RPMs. They have to have some junk in the Jets. So I ordered a rebuild kit for the FZ1. Now comes to task of taking out the carbs and cleaning them and sinking them. Thank you for your video, great photography. I hope I can do this OK. Any other special tips? Do you have a video of removing the carbs? Blessings.

Hello thanks for the video. Which one is the main factory reference carb you can’t touch on this bike?

Hello, nice video, thanks. Where did you buy the rebuild kit and do you have a part number for it? Thanks again.

Hello, I have same FZS 1000, model 2004, it's lightly backfiring while going downhill. Plugs already changed and carb syncronized by mechanic, but still popping. Do You have any idea, what it might be? It seems, air comes in the system while in downhill position. Uphill and straight it doesn't. Greetings

I think your idle jets are starting to get plugged up, creating a lean condition that results in popping.

@@Scowguy Thank You for Your reply! 👍👍👍
In the meantime I adjusted the idle to about 1200 rpm, before it was about 900, which was obviously to low, in the moment no more popping!!!
How often do you adjust the valves? Any recommendation?
