+Dan Lasson Exactly. There were at least a dozen pitchers in 9U in the Bay Area, CA who throw over 50. 45 was average and pretty much batting practice for the better teams. Hell, we had two and we saw a team that had 4 kids hit 50.
+Dan Lasson My boy just turned seven and hit 51mph on Sunday. I am scared he throws too hard for his own good. He is 80lbs and really muscular which adds to the worry. I don't know if these young arms are capable in holding up with all of that torque.
Our pitcher on my Minor B team back around 1988...our 8 year old pitcher had a 60 mph fastball. He had a few no hitters, plenty of scoreless games and was the winningest pitcher in the state of Alabama in 1998 I believe. His fastball topped out close to 90 mph his senior year. I figured he should have been throwing mid 90s.
Is everyone in this clip totally insane? EVERYONE 9-years-old throws around 40-45 miles per hour! And, how big of a total A-Hole is the announcer?! He said about the shortstop, "He's no ringer" after the kid made a great play and threw the ball high to the first baseman. First off, the kid made a GREAT fielding play. Second, don't put down children you dump (blank!)
I was kicked out of a league at 8/9. I moved up in division. I was planned for scholarship at 12 (pre scholarship which means unofficial or under terms not yet acquired). It was a blessing.
+War Master99 I'm 12 and my fastball is barely past 60 it's almost I possible for a 9 year old to throw 60 :/ Unless your on juice / steroids and also Do you throw any other pitches just wondering for your age it would be interesting
Im 69 and i can throw a 420 mph pitch EDIT: after 11 months people are still replying to this comment and saying how stupid i am because its obvious that nobody can throw that fast. It should be obvious that I'm being sarcastic. Jesus i wish people would get some common sense...
I know this is old but I remember seeing a 9 Year old throwing 60 MPH I was standing behind the radar gun and can remember his name when and where. He now plays for the University of GA.
Kids... dude i was pitching to some kids recently at full speed (i'm 19 and been out of baseball for years) and they were completely terrified of how fast it was. they asked how hard i throw.. ("75? 80? No, almost looks like 90?"). In reality i told them i only throw about 65 and it made them realize that they really don't throw as hard as they think they do. I can promise you kids, you definitely do not throw 75 mph before age 14 with no workout schedule. It just doesn't happen.
I'm 13 and I play travel in Michigan and I practice 3-4 days a week and work out my arms and I top 70. I couldn't get up right now and throw that, but after I'm warmed up I can top out 70
I'm 14 and when I was 9 or 10 years old, and when I was playing machine we were hitting 60, 65, 70 Mph and hit it very well if someone can throw 40 then they shouldn't be kicked off the team
I remember when I was 10 our rec department made a 9 year old play up, and he was on my team. We went to a summer camp at minor league teams park and he got clocked at 59 at 9'years old. He pitches in college now and throws in the mid 90's.
jesus christ thse comments are cancer, its all a bunch of little kids bragging how hard they throw.. first of all i doubt they even got clocked.. second of all they're pretty much all lying, third they think they're hot shit cause they're like 12 and throw 60, yeah you throw 60 mph from like 46-50 feet away. you shouldn't brag about how hard you throw until you get 60/90 baseball. and honestly not until highschool.
TheLoneWanderer yes it is buddy. obviously you are like 10 and havent moved up to 60/90 yet. just cause you're mom signed you up for little league does not mean you are important. before you call me a piece of shit, you should remember you're 10. no one really gives a shit about you.
My son is 8. He throws 54. His buddy is also 8 and throws 61. I've seen 2 other 8yr olds around Florida that can also throw in the 50s. Not impossible, but not common either...
At least the kid is getting active . A lot of kids can't put down a device or video game. That league should be ashamed . How do they think that feels now ,probably doesn't want to play again. Just because a kid is better than other kids doesn't mean they should not play.
When I was nine 45 MPH was my basically a change up for me and my fastball was around the high 50's. I'm 11 now and when I measured my fastball on a radar gun it hit 70 at max.
I have 2 children 9 and 10 that play baseball and my 9 year old averages about 45 to 47 and the ten year old average around 48 . Some of the 10 year old pictures average about 50. It sounds like to me someone got butt hurt in the games that won’t let that nine year old pitch. It comes down to some players are train more and want to play baseball while some is just there because there parents play once. some just show up at practice to practice and don’t practice at home.
The arc of the ball from the pitcher is pretty steep. A 45 mph pitch from the Iron Mike machine at our cages doesn't have that much arc. Maybe it's just a perception difference? . Last Spring there was a 9 yr old girl who was throwing consistently between 50-53 mph from 38' away off a 4" high mound. She had one of the 3 fastest velocities in that division & went on to play All-Stars. My own 9 yr old throws in & around the zone, but probably closer to 38 mph... oh well... Those kids look younger than 9...closer to 7.
Sadly Jericho Scott was killed at 16 years of age by a drive by shooter outside his home. Seems like he was a good athlete and student. Tragic www.npr.org/2015/05/06/404739750/jericho-scott-promising-young-pitcher-killed-in-drive-by-shooting
45-mph 9yr old pitcher? (Sarcasm) wow that's amazing! Well that's terrible because as a 10yr old I hit off kids throwing 60s. Slowest pitcher I saw threw mid-50s
My grandson, at 9 years 6 months, was radar clocked at 57. Two months later in practice the hard guess by coaches who had caught him and kids that had hit against him was that he was breaking 60. He's pretty accurate and has struck out four batters in 15 pitches before. If you crowd his plate, if you get hit, that's your problem is the attitude.
I don’t care how old you are, if you can’t hit 40 mph, you don’t deserve to play baseball. And suspending a player because he’s too good should be a crime. Snowflakes.
I’m 11 and got a pretty solid 65mph. Unfortunately, I have terrible accuracy. So instead of pitcher I play SS. I never really practice baseball, and I really rely on my football talent. In football, I’m a great QB.
Is it normal because I'm 9 and I'm a pitcher and I play on a travel team called storm and for a home team I play for ny mets and when I pitch I pitch 55 60 and 77 I'm kind of accurate but not that accurate but accurate and I'm the best pitcher on my home team

😂😂😂soo true

This comment takes the W 😂😂
agreed
40 mph is slow for a 9 year old. This story makes no sense!
+Dan Lasson Exactly. There were at least a dozen pitchers in 9U in the Bay Area, CA who throw over 50. 45 was average and pretty much batting practice for the better teams. Hell, we had two and we saw a team that had 4 kids hit 50.
+Matt Underwood My 8 year old just got radared last night. 45mph.
+Kenneth Behnken why do you ask?
+Matt Underwood my son has lessons at a local place their top speed at 9 was 55 mph.
+Dan Lasson My boy just turned seven and hit 51mph on Sunday. I am scared he throws too hard for his own good. He is 80lbs and really muscular which adds to the worry. I don't know if these young arms are capable in holding up with all of that torque.

I'm more concerned why these 7-8 year olds have youtube accounts lol
I'm still wondering what steroids the 9 yr olds are on pitching 60 and all
I was kicked out of a league at 8/9. I moved up in division. I was planned for scholarship at 12 (pre scholarship which means unofficial or under terms not yet acquired). It was a blessing.

I know this is old but I remember seeing a 9 Year old throwing 60 MPH I was standing behind the radar gun and can remember his name when and where. He now plays for the University of GA.
The pitcher from CT was killed in a drive by shooting a couple years ago. I hope it was worth it to those coaches. RIP Jhericho.
geesh I threw 52 when I was 9

Andy L same
Andy L I throw 65mph now and 11
Dylan Mejia no u can't
Andy L he said that he throws 65 and his 11 tears
I know this is old but 40-45 was avg for my kid's 9u season. The speed pitchers threw 50-55.
Kids... dude i was pitching to some kids recently at full speed (i'm 19 and been out of baseball for years) and they were completely terrified of how fast it was. they asked how hard i throw.. If that's 45 then I throw at least 65!!
That Guy me too
Nonstop that can’t be 45mph, I throw 55mph, and it takes a small loop, but these balls sink like a slider, it can’t be 45, it looks at most 30
Nonstop I know it's like 20 mph
I'm ten I throw 59mph
Nonstop samw
Why are they making a big deal about it? I topped out at 54 at 9
Same
i did about 103.....centimeters
I was topped out at 59mph when i was 9 and i beat out all of the 12 yr olds
I was topped out at 101 at age 3
I'm 10 and my pitch speed is 50 -65 mph
I remember when I was 10 our rec department made a 9 year old play up, and he was on my team. We went to a summer camp at minor league teams park and he got clocked at 59 at 9'years old. He pitches in college now and throws in the mid 90's.
I'm 11 years old, and I'm a starting pitcher on the Boston Red Sox. I throw 9,876 miles per hour and I'm batting .989, and slugging 1 million.
Hannah Thomas Dude. That isn't even funny.
someone in my league throws 51 and he's young
Hannah Thomas 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hannah Thomas liar!
Hannah Thomas I know a 10 year old that can pitch 51
jesus christ thse comments are cancer, its all a bunch of little kids bragging how hard they throw.. first of all i doubt they even got clocked.. second of all they're pretty much all lying, third they think they're hot shit cause they're like 12 and throw 60, yeah you throw 60 mph from like 46-50 feet away. you shouldn't brag about how hard you throw until you get 60/90 baseball. and honestly not until highschool.

southside I think you are jealous of these people because you can't play
k-walks plz don't say that
My son is 8. He throws 54. His buddy is also 8 and throws 61. I've seen 2 other 8yr olds around Florida that can also throw in the 50s. Not impossible, but not common either...
What kind of league kicks players out for being "too good?" I thought baseball was supposed to be fun, not easy
I'm 45637463 and I throw -6473527373 mph
Nice
-cry- *sigh* me too...
Congrats, you can throw a ball a little over 9 times the speed of light
+oakleafwiffleleague Wait Thats Like The 5x The Speed Of Light Backwards
Hey that's pretty good
R.I.P JERICHO SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!! He died last year April 2015 in New Haven from gun violence. Sad to hear

+xXx_HqwToMLG_xXxHDYT quit lying to urself you
Minnyman _ same
Minnyman _ same i pitch a little faster than that
and he even said that "all kids seem to pitch 40 mph"
At least the kid is getting active . A lot of kids can't put down a device or video game. That league should be ashamed . How do they think that feels now ,probably doesn't want to play again. Just because a kid is better than other kids doesn't mean they should not play.
This video is just the commentator roasting the players
BRUH! 13-15 year olds be throwing 50-70. I'm dead ass!
This video should be called,"Can 9 yr olds hit their strike zone
They don't realize how slow 40mph is
45? In my sons 9u league he was clocked at 45-48. We had another kid reach 50 in practice. Our average pitcher is between 42-45.
When I was nine 45 MPH was my basically a change up for me and my fastball was around the high 50's. I'm 11 now and when I measured my fastball on a radar gun it hit 70 at max.
All of the people saying that when they were like 9 or something and they threw 50, that's false. I play 12u and the average pitch is 60, I pitch 65.
That pitch is blazing
That radar gun definitely looked juiced as I do not believe any of those pitchers were throwing 40 mph.
I'm 11 and pitch consistently around high 50s and I topped out once at 67 at a mound 46 ft away in a travelball tournament (no I'm not lying)
I never threw really hard when I pitched but when I was 9 I pitched 3 innings and had 9 strike outs.
I have 2 children 9 and 10 that play baseball and my 9 year old averages about 45 to 47 and the ten year old average around 48 . Some of the 10 year old pictures average about 50. It sounds like to me someone got butt hurt in the games that won’t let that nine year old pitch. i saw a 70 mph fastball on a 9 year old before and i said Ho Lee Fuk
I'm 40 and on a good day I pitch 25 mph about 5 feet away from the plate
The kids are litteraly scared of a at least 35 mph fast ball.
when I was 9 I threw 50 and it was not that slow, it actually went in a straight line. plus I wasn't even the fastest pitcher in the league
RIP Jericho Scott....
Sadly, the kid was killed in a drive-by shooting a few years ago.
The arc of the ball from the pitcher is pretty steep. A 45 mph pitch from the Iron Mike machine at our cages doesn't have that much arc. Maybe it's just a perception difference?

When I was 9 I played with the 10 year olds so I was hitting off of 50+ mph pitchers. Now I'm older, it's nothing
45-mph 9yr old pitcher? (Sarcasm) wow that's amazing! Well that's terrible because as a 10yr old I hit off kids throwing 60s. Slowest pitcher I saw threw mid-50s
I throw 60mph, I'm 12. Most kids through 50-60, I get hit all the time and they don't kick the pitcher out.
Ok it makes me mad that they are questioning that a nine year old can throw 45 mph. When I can throw 55mph when I'm nine
Is a 79mph Fastball normal for a 15 yr old??
What's that catchers gear it's falling off
My grandson, at 9 years 6 months, was radar clocked at 57. Two months later in practice the hard guess by coaches who had caught him and kids that had hit against him was that he was breaking 60. He's pretty accurate and has struck out four batters in 15 pitches before. If you crowd his plate, if you get hit, that's your problem is the attitude.
Same my son was clocked 58 early season he's still 9 until end of December and he's now throwing in the early 60s
And our kids are on Pace to throw in the 90s+
@@romanempire705wow well you must be proud of them right?
@@romanempire705No he didn't lol
I love how much people lie
There is a 10 year old on freetown lakeville on the 11u team that throw low 70s and high 60s
I don’t care how old you are, if you can’t hit 40 mph, you don’t deserve to play baseball.
And suspending a player because he’s too good should be a crime. Snowflakes.
Um, my son threw over 50 as a 9 year old and hit plenty of kids. They lived.
I’m 11 and got a pretty solid 65mph. Unfortunately, I have terrible accuracy. So instead of pitcher I play SS. I never really practice baseball, and I really rely on my football talent. In football, I’m a great QB.
Im 10 u also i throw like Hmmm maybe in the 50tys or 60tys
RIP Jericho Scott
Dan where r these kids from throwing "60" at 10 I wanna see that
Has anybody noticed how small these 9 year olds are
what do you mean too fast i'm ten and i throw 57
Apparently a lot of radar guns need to be calibrated
Geez last year at state there was a kid throwing 65 and he was 9
I'm 13 I was born on January 1st 2003. How old are you guys? When were you born? Have a great day.
a teammate of mine threw top of 60 at the age of nine but usually 55-58
Hey I am ten and someone that is also 10 throws 46 mph and he is allowed to pitch
we should see the nine year old pitching against other kids
Is it normal because I'm 9 and I'm a pitcher and I play on a travel team called storm and for a home team I play for ny mets and when I pitch I pitch 55 60 and 77 I'm kind of accurate but not that accurate but accurate and I'm the best pitcher on my home team
I´m 23 and I throw 1MPH it take so long that the opposite team just give up.
I was on a travel ball team at 9 and maxing out at 61
Can he throw a strike
Yes, 45 mph is pretty easy to hit off and there is a lot of pitchers that are 9 that pitch that fast.
Bruh I went to the college World Series and went to the fan fest. I went into a bullpen thin to show how fast you threw and threw like 54. First of all, it was more like 60 and I threw like twice as much as him
When I was 9 I threw 52 mph
C-c-c-cap
Hunter Greene was throwing 61 when he was nine
someone in my league throws in the high 60s
How are these kids 9? They look 6
when I was nine, I could pitch it accurately, and it was over 50 mph.
The catchers gear looks so Funny, its so big on the kid
9u was last year for me, I threw strikes and 54mph this doesn't make sense now at 10u I'm throwing 57-59mph 59 being tops
At this age command is much more important
They are pitching like 20 mph
When I was nine my fast ball was in the high 50s
that's my change-up
I COULD THROW 49 miles an hours
I got gunned at 52 when I was 9 now I'm 10 throwing 65
Why? I am 9 and throw 55mph
I'm 10 and my fastest pitch I've ever threw was 73 mph Edit: I get it from my dad, he was an MLB pitcher
I'm 11 I throw 71 fastball 64 curve ball 63 slider and 61 knuckle ball
Be careful because you will DESTROY your arm before High School graduation
i doubt you even know how to grip a 4 seam so i mean
haha you fast ball probably 48 mph and your other pitches don't move
Curve and slider will destroy ur arm dude throw knuckle curve instead
Watch the arm still young age start throwing u should wanna through curve balls at age 12
My friend jakes he throws about 60. He's 9 also
I don't know but I am 9 and on my travel ball team I have a kid who throughs 63
Am 4 and am 3'4 and am throw about 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000007453420000000000009000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 milez peh our iz dat gud!?
I'm 11 years old and the fastest pitch I threw was 52 mph but my pitches move like hell
i'm 4 and a can throw a 946 mph fastball and i once threw a perfect game on 26 pitches
