Water temperatures are above 70 degrees in most areas right now, so all the baits we have in this video can be effective. As far as locations go, that's fairly dependent on what area you are at and the type of lake you are fishing. Generally speaking, walleye have recently finished spawning and are starting to slowly work their way deeper with the increasing water temperatures. I'd start at those first break lines off potential spawning areas, spots where you can see fresh weed growth, and the first offshore humps adjacent to the break lines previously mentioned. Some fish will likely be staying shallow too, especially when they come up to feed in the evenings and early mornings. -Mike
Am looking for something for river trolling in a river that has walleye and northern pike/ jack fish and I need an idea of what to use for long to mid line trolling on a boat down a river can’t have it go to deep cause logs and shallow spots but deep enough to stay out of anything that can get snagged on and deep enough to get big walleye
Fatheads, toughies, or walleye minnows. They’re the same thing just different names for where you’re from. They last a long time & can be pretty good size.
The chatterbait/swimbait trailer is a great option for shoreline fishing! You can also give the spinner rigs a try but will probably want to swap out the bottom bouncers for split shot weights. -Mike
