    I heard stories (on internet) of the water table lifting the pool (hydrostatic pressure) when it is empty. Is this hype or real? I have two drains in my 30,000 gallon inground pool....I know that one is going to the filter pump, is the other one for hydrostatic pressure?

    • @spiceymchaggiss
      @spiceymchaggiss 4 роки тому

      Totally could if water table is high. I fix gas stations for a living and a wet set tank (basically setting a tank underground in water has to be anchored down) will pop/float out the ground with nothing in it if it wasn’t anchored or it failed somehow. Even with concrete and asphalt on top the tank will bust it all up and come out.

    • @trunk1255
      @trunk1255 3 роки тому

      yes its real. if u have water thats under the pools foundation it will push the pool up. Imagine your pool is a boat. The more u drain it the less weight it has and if there's water underneath the pool it will push it up and then ur $#@!..

    I have a salt water pool and was planning on draining it myself since I neglected it over the winter and its turned green. What is different in filling a salt water pool vs chlorine?

    • @PoolRescuers
      @PoolRescuers  5 років тому +1

      Tyler L only difference is you need to add salt once full. Make sure the salt cell is functioning. You’ll also need to make sure that you add the proper amount of salt. It’s is important not to add more than needed.

    • @braddavis8552
      @braddavis8552 3 роки тому

      A salt water pool is a chlorine pool. All pools need chlorine, period.

      That black one is a good one though. It gets the water lower than the red one.

    Don't bother with a sump pump. Get a skimmer float valve which you can use to connect the suction pipe going to the pump to the pipe going to the main drain(s)... you just put it on backwash, and drain the pool

    I’m new to the pool business. I’ve been learning a lot about cya and higher CH. Work for a company with about 8 techs. Unfortunately they do not take cya as seriously as they should and talk about the dreaded algae in summer even with FC present. It’s very disheartening because I want to get my pools within a 50-60 cya but I’ve got pools that I’ve taken on since being hired with 100+ cya, lots of them. We don’t drain pools and they won’t even recommend it to customers. It makes no sense to me. We use tons of cal hypo and tabs. We have lots of calcium buildup at higher ch pools for obvious reasons and we just refer the customer to a blaster company. I take this chemistry stuff way more seriously than any of my guys and I’ve been in this industry for only 3 months. One technician got extremely upset with me for talking about why he has algae in the summer with a super high cya and just a 3-5 ppm FC. Like he thought I was saying he didn’t know what he was doing and I was just trying to have a conversation about cya. I wish there were more companies like yours I’d come work for you in a heartbeat

    • @PoolRescuers
      @PoolRescuers  3 роки тому +1

      I often tell guys who want to join our industry that water chemistry is the most important. Learn water chemistry properly and you are better than 90% of the “pool pros” out there. Keep it up. You’re correct. Anyone who disagrees with your thought process is wrong. Just keep skimming
