My theory is this: The woman hid her husband who died in an accident, but he escaped and killed the second man to be with her forever. Yes, I know its stupid...
starhoper lol It looked more like a freakish child the parents had. The father wanted to get rid of it perhaps but the mother kept them in the basement (possibly due to actually liking the child?). Notice the hair is almost like the mother’s and daughter’s?
Star Hoper I mean the theory you thought cuz I thought the same at the very part where she gives him the meat and so on and it’s not stupid well I don’t think so
The small things included in the animation amaze me- like how the daughter swings her feet and the way the Dad walked while swinging his arms. This looks like a look of effort I’m actually very impressed
I’m not gonna say this reminds me of Tim burton because, you deserve more than that. You put so much work into this and it’s gorgeous, I’m sure Burton was an inspiration but he didn’t invent stop motion and creepy films. This was awesome! I love the look, you can tell the love you put into making this, I would love to see more from you. The Marshalls had a short story to tell but man did they tell it!
Woah, amazing! I really think this creature is their son, he has the same hair as his mother, maybe he was born this some problem but their parent didn't feel correct to leave him alone, so they keep him in home, taking care of all. Look at the newspaper the father is reading... It talks about a strange creature that lives in the same neighbourhood.
Alas Maŕtes i think its their own child. That was born deformed and mentally disabled. Maybe they eventually put him down there after he became too uncontrollable. Just a thought.
Alas Maŕtes I don't know, I think that maybe could her brother. 'Cause if It was their child the both of them would be responsible for It and It is only "Mum's basement". They look alike and why would that thing kill only the father? In my mind, is her brother with some kind of disturb
The part where the mother is cleaning around the house must've taken such a long time :0 Awesome with the details :D I also liked that little moment where the daughter is trying to also feed her furby. Nice touch :D
Wow, this is amazing!! I made a stop motion video myself and it's really hard. It takes a LOT of time. Moving the figures little by little, trying not to ruin it, having the right lighting, etc. It's not easy but it's worth it in the end. Mine is only 1m and 17s and it took me 2 whole days to finish it without the editing part(took a few more hours). But what matters is that if you love what you're doing, time does not matter at all.
I’ve seen many theories that make sense and now i want to share mine. So what I think happened is that the humanoid animal or human (Maybe their son) that has gone insane is the 'creature' that we see on the newspaper at 1:23. And I think that the mother had noticed that her child wasn't normal and perhaps had an appetite for human (?). But then as we see the 'the son' escape out of his cage and heads up to the mother, since maybe he only remembers her and only cares for her since she takes care of him and doesn't like the father somehow, so that’s why he killed him or something like that. Hopefully this makes sense. (Note: If anybody else had this comment before me then I didn’t know someone else had the same theory, I had no intention of stealing it. But if not then I’m a first!)
This is one of the most perfect things I've ever seen. I adored every second of it the three times I've just watched it. The stopmotion work is utterly incredible (the pouring of the cup of tea is one of the most beautifully precise things ever). The narrative is deliciously macabre. The tiny Furby is everything. Thank you so much for such a glorious creation.
I love the Tim Burton inspired characters and just the nice short sweet and simple story in general. Your hard work paid off!💪💪💪💞🙆Can't wait for more!🙌
you don't know how many times during this video I said to myself "this is dope this is so dope why am I not living in that world" saw the end and was like "NOW I DEFINITELY NEED THIS TO BE A SERIES" TIM BURTON make it happen
I liked the juxtaposition between the cute domestic items and the skeletal Tim Burton style of the characters, but how did the creature in the basement get the screwdriver to escape?
"Misteriosa criatura del barrio reclama cuarta víctima" eso es lo que dice el encabezado del periódico que lee el esposo antes de dormir... lo que está bajo el sótano es su hijo, por ello la señora baja a darle de cenar, pero este no puede ocultar su naturaleza y va por su quinta víctima para después ir a dormir a lado de su madre que pese a todo la ama 💀💖
I once dated a beautiful woman who looked just like that but luckily realized if I married her I too would be killed by the metaphorical creature that lived in her basement. I escaped just in time. 😅

I love this so much , stop motions are basically my life
I remember a short stop motion film from a long time ago about a wheelchair-bound mother who puts her daughter to bed. Soon after, a robotic creature breaks into the girls bedroom and turns her into a cybernetic creature who then does the same to her mother I've never been able to find it
So was the man in her bed at the end the creature that escaped from the cage? This is beautifully done and I would really love to see more, maybe as a mini series 💛
This was great! It was like something Tom Burton would create, but with ur own twist, Pls continue to make more vids, I think there should be a part 2!
such incredible work, i understand the amount of effort/time/patience it takes to animate something of this volume. You're very talented and it definitely has the tim burton vibes! beautiful x

oh god the end was scary i didn't know it would be scary. on other cases it was very well planed out
this was a cross between Beetlejuice Johnny Depp's movies
enjoli dozier * Tim Burton
No it is beetlejuice because if you see the movie in the beginning they are like bugs in a plastic like town
enjoli dozier do you mean Tim burton who often has Johnny depp act?
This should definitely deserve more views! It's amaizing!Good job!
Woah, amazing!

I'd like to know a prehistory... How did Mother get this scarry thing?
Also, marvelous job!
Alas Maŕtes i think its their own child. That was born deformed and mentally disabled. Maybe they eventually put him down there after he became too uncontrollable. Just a thought.
1:22 if you like at the newspaper it says something
Maybe it represents the mother's "Mr. Hyde" side
Alas Maŕtes I don't know, I think that maybe could her brother. 'Cause if It was their child the both of them would be responsible for It and It is only "Mum's basement". They look alike and why would that thing kill only the father? In my mind, is her brother with some kind of disturb

1:45 2:58 guess who is having nightmares for the next 30 years.

Please keep creating these works of art. People undervalue the importance and how much work goes into producing these films.
FURBY? 1:00
Hannah Gamer yep
Naah man, that's Gizmo 😂😂😂
Oh my god!!! This was so good. Amazing animation and story line. I appreciate people who take the time to create things like this!!!

what exactly is the creature to the mother?
For a moment there i thought life was beautiful.
NOTHING and NO ONE IS AS IT SEEMS
Salad Fingers x Tim Burton x Coraline
The father looked like Victor from the corpse bride

It was a very nice animation، it reminded me of Tim Burton's animations.
I’m shook this was amazing. I thought the monster was going to kill her or she’d secretly be the monster.
AHHHHH!!! It’s almost 1 AM. The ending scared the fuck out of me!!!!

I legit jumped from my seat at the end there! loved this. who's watching in 2018?
She locked the basement door, so I'm here wondering how did he get out of the basement. This was great either way.
1:12
Idk why but the way she just stared off made me laugh.
It looks like me remembering homework I forgot to do but it's too late.
Omg! Love it! Got that TIM BURTON vibe
Stop motion is so cool and even though there were no words/speaking the film is amazing
This film is so beautifully haunting!
Beautifully dark! ❤😚❤
I love the Tim Burton inspired characters and just the nice short sweet and simple story in general. Your hard work paid off!💪💪💪💞🙆Can't wait for more!🙌

Coraline + Tim Burton + Dollhouse-Melanie Martínez 😍
THIS WAS AMAZING YOU'RE LIKE A WHOLE OTHER TIM BURTON!!!!
I liked the juxtaposition between the cute domestic items and the skeletal Tim Burton style of the characters, but how did the creature in the basement get the screwdriver to escape?
The animation is not only gorgeous but so fluid here…This is awesome!
This gives me tim burton vibez! So good! 🖤🤍❤️
I like it that their faces don't change even if they're happy
Mr. Burton, did you make this?
Really loving all the details and work that went into this - from the music to the props. Seriously deserves more views!!
They seem more like neighbors to the Adams Family, but you can imagine it ! Lovely animation! Keep up the good work!!!☻🖤💀🕸🕷

I love the the texture of everything in this film
Ugh it's midnight here. I was not ready for that disturbing end.😂😂😅😅
this is exactly something tim burton would create
when I first read the title I thought it was "The Marshmellows" I am blind
Should've been a full movie instead of 3 minutes
I just LOVE watching short films!
This is absolutely fantastic,I love this!
this looks like something Tim Burton would make!
Was not expecting that! Disturbing but sort of excellent. Nice work.
A terrifyingly perfect ending. Well done.

Anyone else thinking of coraline and Nightmare before Christmas!? Adore this!! 💖
It has a very early 1900s feel to it, which I like a lot.
