All good info, never boring. Looking forward to the $40 bear redux. That was the first video of yours I watched. Making huge strides, it's a pleasure to watch. Keep on carving!
Awesome Eric, I am a new carver but have been learning so much from you, thank you! I bought a finger sander a few months ago after I saw you use one, great tool, keep up the great work
Terrific - great stuff for us newbies. I carve small scale, getting ready today to take my chunk of firewood woodspirit outside and fire up the grinder and my china copy wheel set. I have his face roughed in with the Foredom, but need to go next level to do the hat and beard (it's oak, and laughs at my edged tools (Gonna look great finished though..)), My Pfeil chisels work OK but it's a slow mallet and patience thing). Anyway, if I get thru a few smaller carvings and don't hurt myself, I may go onto firing up the chainsaws in big wood and see where it takes me. Thanks for sharing your hard learned skills!
Brill vid look forward to your new bear vid the old one really helped me how to get the shape of bear I've only carved 3 bears from my first to my 3rd I can really see a difference
Hey Eric I bought a cheep die grinder master craft got about 2 years out of it and I carve a lot less than you now I got a expensive one I really like it. Much better quality
Hey Eric i used the landsalot with my grinder after taking the handle and guard off it. NOT RECOMMENDED. The thing caught a snag and ripped out of my hand and jumped back at my gut. luckily i had a loose shirt on and it got wrapped up and binded it up but very scary . love you videos.
Yup $10...for a Home Depot sanding flap disc.....hahaha ...UNLESS You find a wholesale going out of Business place where I just this weekend bought a pack of 4 for a mear $ 7.99 Can or $ 1.9825 each. .....nope won't tell you where because I'm going to buy them all and corner the market on flap discs....they definitely chew up the wood though and can leave a nice smooth finish if you use a higher grit and light touch . Eric you started me out on your $40 Bear.....I've sold 4 ($40-120 , depending on finish level) in June 2020. I've added Jack fish ,eagle heads, snails ,welcome signs and a couple of " Fu*K Cancer " signs cause I'm a Survivor and it just brings warmth to my heart to hand them out for FREE to a fellow Survivor.
Canadian Tire does something similar for selling them on sale but everytime they go on sale there's non in stock 😂 And not saying there no good don't get me wrong when I used them they were great!! Just super pricy because I don't have the light touch and would burn them out immediately lol. Happy to here you won the battle brother!!! Keep on Carving!!
@@EricCaronChainsaw oh I didn't win the battle.... The doctors surgeons and my oncologist won the battle. I just laid there and let them do their magic. Thank God for the Canadian Health System. I would have died if I was American
