I wish there were more old school flying open axel sit spins in skating today!
That beautiful smile. He was a cute. Golden boy!!
Wow! I remember loving to watch this guy. Thanks for posting this.
He jumped higher than anyone. Some eye candy too
This was a beautiful performance! The skating of this era was not as technical as today ( but don't forget they had to master school figures as well as a program) but the programs were flowing and artistic not just quad jumping contests!
Thank you so much for putting this video on here. I was in the same skating club in Great Falls with John. I use to love to watch him skate.
I wonder where John is today?
@@bigbadjohn2543 i think sometimes he does commentating for skating events i remember he skated to Anchors Away when we did a skating show together.
@@whale5646 truth be known, I have a video of him and his parents when he was about two. But cannot post without his consent.
@@bigbadjohn2543 oh thats to bad . I would love to see it. I was a Majorette in the show he was in. I wonder if he remembers it. lol
I looooved him.
That was engaging from beginning to end.
I really like the sequences of turns, small hops, and toe kicks in the footwork.
He must've been one of the very few to use one piece of music at this time.
Ай да Джон Миша! Пожалуй он интереснее даже Ондрика!
Good lord, he could have gone for a quad loop there.
Where did he end up placing? Did he get the bronze?
No.5th in Figures.4th in Free.4th overall.
Thank you for letting me know. 🙂
I want some Jagermeister with Afro-Cola.
Skating sucks cookies today
Какое несложное было катание. Ни одного тройного прыжка.
You didn't see the triple axle?
@@pettytoni1955 There was no triple axel, but there was a triple salchow & a triple loop.
