Watch the BBC first on iPlayer 👉 bbc.in/iPlayer-Home Rob Brydon is back in the host's chair for the sixth series of this comedy panel show. And, as ever, David Mitchell and Lee Mack are the lightning-quick team captains.
Over the course of each show, celebrity guests reveal amazing stories about themselves, some of which are true and some of which are not. The aim of the game is to fool the opposition into mistaking fact for fiction and fiction for fact.
In this episode, Lee Mack is joined by Alex Jones and Alexander Armstrong and David Mitchell is joined by Chris Tarrant and Mel Giedroyc.

"D...Dave experimental year. (pointing at David) If you've forgotten it I'll never forgive you" I was not expecting that, I actually nearly choke on my dinner laughing at that line.
+A. H. Lee Lee Mack was joking that he David Mitchell dated during a year when Lee was experimenting with Homosexuality.
+MikeMJPMUNCH no shit sherlock
Jack Bauer You do realise I was responding to someone who didn't get the joke but they have since deleted their initial comment saying they didn't get it.
MikeMJPMUNCH
I apologise man i didn't seen the deleted comment still a good show though!
judging by his reaction, I don't think David was expecting it either. It hit him so deep we saw his maniacal laugh.
Seriously, Lee Mack's mind is faster that light.
+Emiliano Rodriguez To bad his memory is as short as Wee Man ;)
+Emiliano Rodriguez Yep. Not a huge fan of his live stuff but by god he is hilariously quick on panel shows.
+Emiliano Rodriguez Its close to actually impossible isnt it? But unless David and Lee agree on things before the show, which they probably dont, he actually is that fast. Hes like the Neo of humour!
+Stan Dando most panel shows do have scripts to partially follow.
+quaid667 That´s the best pairing they could have on any show.
That's quite a love Triangle.
I enjoyed that joke very much. Well played sir.
I too enjoyed that joke. Together we make a formidable triangle of friendship.
Thank you
+Christopher Hayes I didn't so much laugh at your comment, rather I appreciated it.
I love you.
"Because Una Stubbs played Aunt Sally in Worzel Guimmidge"
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's genuinely impressed by that brilliance!!
How is he so quick?!
I didn't get the reference please explain
@@gobbluth7204 Worzel Gummidge was a TV show in the UK in late 70s/early 80s. One of the characters on the show was named Aunt Sally, and she was portrayed by the actress Una Stubbs.
Quickest wit in the west
There must be someone in his life where this fact is true
"ok, off we go..." hahaha, i lost it straight away
Dave. Experimental year. DEAD LMAO
TickTak77 “if you’ve forgotten it I’ll never forgive you” 😂😂
Love the chemistry between David and Lee in this
well of course after all he was Lee's D and probably the only D Lee will ever want
-christ that was awful I'm sorry Lee if you're somehow reading this-
As an American, “Una Stubbs played Aunt Sally in Worzel Guimmidge” sounded like absolute gibberish and I was shocked when the audience understood the reference. I didn’t even know what he was saying was English until I went into the comments section.
Imagine not having English as your primary language. I kept rewinding trying to understand, and the auto generated subs didn’t help one bit 😅 Yay for comments!
Lol, surely you can gather from context that Una Stubbs is the name of an actress and Worzel Gummidge is the name of a show?
To be fair I had no idea know what they were talking about either since I googled it and that show aired ages ago
@@jlammetje me too!
really thank you for this
Holy fuck I had no idea how funny David Mitchell was until I started watching these videos.
But he's a comedian...
Ya and Iggy Azalea is a rapper but I'm not going to say "Holy fuck I had no idea how talented a rapper Iggy Azalea was until I listened to her album."
InsomniaS3S the difference being is no one has ever said those worlds about Iggy Azalea.
Watch Peep Show. Then you'll realise how funny he is.
***** Ya agreed, a really good partnership there. Lee Mack is probably the most quick witted comedian I've seen in these type of shows. I had no idea how funny Lee Mack was until I started watching these videos either.
His explanation for "U" and "D" were phenomenal.
I didn't get the reference for una stubs played.... please explain
@Duribethin Cheers, I had no clue!
@@akselhoff208 actually he said Una Stubbs plays Aunt Sally in Worzel Gummidge, a british sitcom
It's so obvious that it's a lie but watching Lee talking his way out of it and David "interrogating" him is comedy gold. 😂😂😂😂
this is the highest posible peak of british panel show comedy.
Lewis Ridout I'd say best moment is in Henning Wenn's story about going to Morocco, I won't spoil it, it just has to be watched
The Nerd View Review thanks for that recommendation!!
Kevin Bridges Horse. That’s the peak
You clearly haven't seen the Kevin Bridges horse story. It's still the best segment from this show and one of the best panel show bits ever.
"Would he go out with somebody called Brenda?" Hahahahaha
Andrew Perry my name is popular as always hahhha
I can't believe the pointed that out instead of the fact that he claimed to go out with someone with the same name as his mother!
Regine is a name 🙈 it's my name
Hi Alan!
As in regime change?
Are you a liberal, regine?
but its not pronounced the same way lee says, is it ??
Nice try, Lee Mack.
The lie about ‘Sally’ being called ‘Una’ after Una Stubbs was so quick and clever, though! :)
Quickest wit in the west. :)
The bromance between David and Lee is a friendship I wish everyone had
This is one of my favourites episodes, always crack up at David's "Regime? As in regime change??"
"ERIN!!" Never thought I'd enjoy hearing someone yell my name like that. Gotta love Lee Mack's quick-witted sense of humor 😂
0:12 That look of resignation off of Lee tells you straight away it's not true and he knows he's got to BS his way out of it.
Yeah but he could put that on if he wanted to he is an actor you know
There have been occasions when he has very successfully pretended to hesitate throughout and it's been true.
I’m
Especially perfect when it's something so stupid, he knows he has no hope. Like when he had to convince everyone he saves time writing his Christmas cards by writing one normally, and simultaneously also writing another with a pen held between his toes.
I love that Lee often seems like he’s trying to remember his lie, but half the time (lie or not) he’s got it under control and it’s just where he’s taking another 0.5 seconds to throw in another joke 😂
He jokes to small the conversation so he can think of something
Alexander Armstrong: "Is Régine a name?"
Says the man who has a friend called Octavius Brown
Sounds like a mix between a Roman Emperor and a civil servant.
Does anyone else track which series it is by looking at the progress of David Mitchell's beard?
Will Gibson hahahaha brilliant
Of course
"All my ex-girlfriends went missing." :-D
He probably chose Bermuda because it swallowed a lot of sea men :)
If only you could see my face conveying the level of admiration and approval I have for your gag.
*slow clap*....lol :p
Mutale Malama We all can
:-)
It would be sadly, hilarious as hell if the last words of the captain was "hi men" before getting absolutely destroyed by whatever the f*ck was lurking there
dayum lee was on fire
one darum coming right up ^^
David's quick with the logic and Lee's quick with the witty comebacks. That's why i love this show.
he's seriously the funniest guy ever! and he always gets the hard lies! I love you Lee!!!
The top comedian of the current era, 2020, for sure
Should have gone with:
Bermuda, Ermuda, Rmuda, Muda, Uda, Da, Allo there mate.
Easier to recall.
When Lee says "I'll tell you exactly" you know it's a lie 😅😅😅
David's face when making Lee squirm trying to remember E and U 😂 love this show!
I really, really wanted that to be true...
I bet Cupboard would have been pissed off at getting omitted from the list.
Me too :) And if it was told by Bob Mortimer a similar way, it would definitely be true :D
Just like James Acaster really really wanted the Spice Girls' debut album, Spice
"Dave, experimental year" lol
Honestly, this is Lee’s best work ever on the show. So impressive.
I would have lost my shit if it was true
Pretty impressive but I think the keys was the most impressive.
No, it was so ridiculous a lie he didn't really try to pull it off, and he couldn't remember the names even. The cooking pot one was possibly his best.
Sometimes you just know its the producers just making it difficult for him, and everyone loves it
Lee Mack is the only person they could have given a question like this.
Lol you knew as soon as David said "off we go" that this was gonna be good...
funny he started with "i can always remember all my ex girlfriends" then proceeded to barely remember his name lol
"The D was!"
"Mommy!"
Sigmund Freud approves.
Mummy
That little head tilt David does at 50: is adorable.
Lee is so fast!
Molly, molly molly, I could tell you a few things about Molly but it isn't the time :.)
Lee and David are the greatest frenemies on this show 😂
It’s so cool to hear lee say Erin lol
Love the way the writers give Lee ones that are so clearly not true but they like to test his quickness
1:07 Rasputin 🤣🤣🤣
HE IS NOT A FUNNY MAN WHOMEVER HE IS
"ok, off we go" xD
😂
can watch this show all day
Lee Mack is a bloody genius!
"Regime? As in: "regime change?"
LMAO!
1:07 'Rasputin' thanks Chris Tarrant!
Lee is the fastest thinking and most quick-witted individual I have ever seen and David the most intellectually funny. Lee, Mickey Flanagan, Sean Lock, Greg Davies and Peter Kay have to be my favourite stand-ups.
Brenda 0:35
Erin 0:52
Regine 1:08
Molly 1:20
Una (Sally) 1:33
Dave/Delia (Mummy!) 1:52/ 2:14
Alex 2:29
My favourite WILTY moment so far! :D
what i wud giv to see lee say true...the resction on davids face wud be priceless
i cant believe i only discovered this show this month. And now I have already seen all 10 seasons lol
Even when lee says brenda he doesn't believe it 😂
WILTY is so underrated. I've never laughed more at any show. Mack and Mitchell have awesome chemistry.
The collective, “sorry?!” At Regine always has me in stitches 😂
'If you've forgotten it, i'll never forgive you'!!
That's so funny especially with Mitchell's psychotic laughter in response
I wish Chris had said at one point “Ill bet you a million pounds that it is a lie” 😂
"Anything's a name isn't it?" Almost Wittgensteinian in its profundity. - Lee Mack is like Morecambe without Wise, in a good way.
"And the D was?"
"Mummy! Deirdre!"
I crack up every time 😂
This is among the best four minutes of bullshitting in history. Everyone knows it's nonsense from the start and yet Lee runs with it brilliantly!
1:25 “I can tell you a thing or two about Molly”
“No you can’t”
The skill Lee has is he can bluff and act like he’s lying, you never can tell if he’s acting like he’s lying or acting lying, he doesn’t try to act like he’s being serious
I was creasing when he couldn’t remember “E” 😂😂
I've seen this 5 times and I'm still dying of laughter
This is the best one ever. Watched it so many times now 😂😂
For the life of me what is said at 1:40!?? I have played it back literally 20 times and I cannot make it out - 'Una stops play on sally and wisent gimmage' what does he say??
"...Because Una Stubbs played Aunt Sally in Worzel Gummidge..."
Frances Bitras Thanks...I dont know a single one of those references - that"s why i could not make it out...LOL
i thought he said, because una stubbs played Dorothy on the wizard of oz
He says "because Una Stubbs played aunt Sally on worzel gummage".
+videos4mydad
Oh thankyou thankyou! I'm Dutch and I thought he said something like; 'Because Una started playing out sally and I wasn't going to-'
I thought 'playing out' was cheating, as in 'being the other woman' or something...and so, to avoid calling them the wrong names, he gave them nicknames of each other's name.
I'm glad it wasn't serendipitous.. I wouldn't have been able to do that acronym!
Absolute genius!
2:01 Love that laff!
Lee Mack is very funny
Haha love the bromance between Lee and David
3:08 I lost it! 😂
Both David and Lee were brilliant in this!
Thank you for that!
One of the best bits in the series 🤣
Whoever whispered "Rasputin" after R is a genius
Lee: Anything's a name
Elon Musk: You're right
Frank Zappa named her daughter Moon Base. So yes.
And his son Dweezil. Tripper
David and lee are the perfect combination
RIP Aunt Sally
This one video is comedy GOLD!
2:38 when everything started falling apart haha
I can't even imagine how much fun the show devs must have, coming up with these crazy statements, and then just leaning back wondering how Lee is going to work himself out of this one...
Couldn't agree with you more!
The Dave part was true.
Of course!
THank you so much! :-)
Brenda🤣🤣 If it wasn't lost already, then it was this point
can't wait to watch the full thing (:
Gotta love David Mitchell's "Well played!" face at 0:50 when he recognizes Lee's mind trick.
"Sally!" 😂😂😂😂😂
1:52 And somewhere on the internet a slash fic is born.
1:27 robs facial expression totally matched mine lol
RIP Una Stubbs
Best programme ever. When he got to do D-dave😂
i kind of love the look on david’s face right after lee says the d is for dave
"Okay off we go" hahaha
yes he is a legend!
watch the episode with Kevin Bridges and the "I bought a horse" story, trust me its AMAZING :)
1:07 LOOOOOOL RASPUTIN!!!!1
Lee mack is a genius
