I started as a gardener. UA-cam then told me to watch you and MD. Fast forward six months, I have nine fish tanks, 3 small bait jars growing cultures, and before the end of the summer I hope to have a pond near my vegetable garden. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing.
Any advice for a total novice greatly appreciated. If your anywhere near South Yorkshire maybe you could give me a hand…..lol great work and good luck with your pond. 😊
I really appreciate how doable your videos are. Lot's of youtubers with stuff where I'm thinking, thats lovely, but I don't have the tools or knowhow. You're the first youtuber where I'm actively checking out the equipment and considering trying it myself.
Really appreciate the fact that you try to save all the crawling creatures whom had taken up residence in your previous pond. I love flower gardens. Have a short season here in New England USA but you’ve made adding a pond look possible. Appreciate that 😊
I've lived a pretty exciting life, and one of my favorite things to do to relax is watch British guys on UA-cam build ponds and aquariums. Who'da thunk?
I have a 2500 gallon pond built by Gerard Touhey. He has fabulous videos! My pond has massive filtration, 2 waterfalls, no stagnant areas, and lots of plants. My water is crystal clear. Remember we do not keep fish, we keep water. My water values are spot on and my KH needs adjusting here and there. To learn more about pond building look up Gerard Touhey the happy crazy Irish pond builder. He flies around the world building ponds for folks.
Always a win for wildlife when any new pond is installed. After a little experiment I reckon there’s a market for some kind of pond version of clip and grow product used for plants in aquariums
I would love a pond like my Grandma has in Coventry. I'm in South Texas now, but once I have the chance and figure out the best fish to stock to kill mosquito larvae, I will make it happen!
You could 3d print some covers for those water outlets and glue/rivet them over. I'm sure you already have a plan for them, though. Everything looks great so far, I can't wait to see it finished.
This is so on time mine is in the back going to be putting in ground after tampering rocks for under and then it will have stones in pond filter set up drift wood plants😊
Hi im a lady fishkeeper, ive just finished redigging , laying pond liner and making it slightly wider my pond from a reformed pond it was hard work. It took me a week but my fish are now happier with a bit more swimming space. My husband also likes it and hes not a gardener hes more techy.
I wish they’d put those arrows on aquarium filters because I always get mixed up as to what the in and out means….. in to the filter or in to your tank 🤔 the arrows are so much better
Excellent video once again. Would you be a fish file possibly on the betta channa(snakehead betta) just discovered it and it seems really cool but alot different than your "normal" betta or even a fish file on the different types of bettas like imbellis, plakat splendids ect
Nice looking pond! I'm a bit confused how that bypass works with a single way valve. the pump isn't too strong to overcome the gravity feed and still give you a small amount out of your water feature?
You’re more than welcome to use my garden to fit a pond! Any time …. Honestly … I really don’t mind … cup a tea and hob nobs all day long! 😅😅😅 and fan adoration all. Day. Long!
Get him Sophie. I want a bench by the pond so I an read and watch the nature show too. I hoe you don't put that mess back in. Jame ask him why the tarp is so far from the pond. Lol. Matt fly me over from America and I'd help you make it. Looking good so far.
Also kitsch really takes away from ponds instead of adding to them. I love the occasional tacky item just like anyone else, but every time I add something like that to my outdoor projects, I always regret it. Now I resist the urge to use them.
It's around 30 years old if not older and we believe it has a slow leak. When we got it out and I touched the base it was super thin and sounded like it would crack.

@@GrowMoreVeggies yeah I do like to use a fair amount of marginal planting in ponds. I find the more you have the less algae you grow.

Do plants need to be fertilized differently in a pond?

Do I have a yard? No, I'm a renter. Did I watch the whole video and enjoyed it way too much? Absolutely! One day I'll have a house, a yard and a pond!
Amazing thank you! At least you have a video to refer back to now.
You could do the 'bucket' ponds. I rent as well and have 3 largish 'bucket' ponds--no filters or pumps, just plant. They have been running for years.
can always use cinder block and bricks to build a support for the pond insert so it's completely removable..
