@@realist8888 the first is a masterpiece no doubt. We don’t count the comics. They were allowed by those who took the franchise, somehow, and did reborn. The creator of the franchise wasn’t involved. Not canon.
Is there any kind of honour in the Creeper? Being from a more ancient time, I wonder if he finds hunting a more worthy person more honourable. When faced with fear, some people have a stronger fight response than others. This also can be tied to the flight response, because some would fight hard to flee. For a Hunter like Creeper, this could feel more sporting than simply taking those who can only cower in the dark corners. Those who have an active response may have a higher level of adrenaline rushing round their body’s, that could be an appealing ingredient for him. But fear also elevates the heart rate, making the blood containing all our yummy chemical menu rush faster. So maybe the gift of fear really has a double use. Weeds out those with a stronger survival spirit & gives the Creeper the menu highlights in double time.
@@daisysunshine1324 such a good thought. Certainly it serves many functions to the Creeper but we never thought about filtering out the most noble. But ultimately if a noble person has something good, watch out. Especially if the creature seeks those character qualities-🤔
I think anyone who was to encounter the creeper would naturally be scared but if it at this precise moment he encountered me I have no doubt i would be frightened even if i put on a brave face. What would probably put him off me though was if at that precise moment he was after a pancreas I would probably be safe as mine doesn't work because im type 1 diabetic lol
I think it does use fear as a menu but, especially in first movie, it went after both want and need. Prime example is the prisoner victims for new arm and leg. It was damaged from getting ran over so it grabbed something convenient. Probably not the "tastiest" but it got the job done for the time. Another example, when it it was in middle of shoot out with police, it tore out heart of an officer. Probably got shot so he simply grabbed a convenient heart. With Darry, he needed eyes as it seems his current eyes were failing so he had time to be choosy a bit. And Darry was the tastier choice due to fear. Second movie, it was last day and was in proverbial in "shopping spree" mode. The "last call". And given that he was mostly healthy, he used fear to decide and pick. I think reason why Deandre Davis got the extra reaction was due to his mixture of fear and bravery. It's like the creeper know the fear was there but did those actions to try to get a better take on the fear. Noticed how with the others he swiftly knew whether or not he wanted them. And like any driven creature, it will kill those that stand in the way like the cat lady, the adults on the bus in second film, and the characters that were actively hunting it. I think another factor is fitness level. It seemed to prefer youthful and fit parts. Probably to get the best mileage out of the parts. So ideally he probably prefer a victim that reeks of fear. It is appealing like one like the scent of their favorite meat on a grill. But if push come to shove, one may grab a gas station hotdog even though it's not the best if hungry or need something quick to hold them over
@@benzo560 all great thoughts and we agree with almost every observation. Fear, we believe doesn’t help a gas station hot dog become a gourmet meal. It’s more like those places are the people. You have the perfect fit example and then you have an old truck driver or prisoner. From them, fear allows the creeper to read them. But as always, we encourage differing opinions for sure!
I wonder if you could outrun it an survive if you had an elaborate and smart enough plan to get away. For example, after Trish and Darry speed away after the creeper killed the two cops escorting them, what if they kept going instead of stopping at the cat ladies house and staged elaborate methods to slow down or even lose the creeper entirely? Making it seem like they ditched their car, planting things with their scent to throw it off, switching cars, changing clothes, masking their own scent with strong perfume or something to that effect and just keep driving cross states. They could take turns driving and sleeping. Provided, getting new cars they'd have to steal and refuel through illegal means but this would be survival. What if they went to urban dense zones? Would it still be after them or would it lose interest and hunt easier prey?
It might have worked. The Creeper operates with the advantage of people not knowing what it is. They just assume human. But imagine how fast the Creeper flys and how easy it would be to track a car from the sky. We imagine it would have ended up like the station wagon in 2.
What if someone stands up to the Creeper and displays outward fearlessness, but they're actually terrified inside. Could it fool the Creeper or will he still smell the fear?
@@lynettepatrice2600 The fear inside is what it detects. It smells fear. It doesn’t use visual evaluation so to speak. Nobody could fool the Creeper unfortunately.

If the Creeper is near you with out you realizing it and smells your fear but that fear is coming from a different incident not related to the Creeper who the Creeper still want to take you or does it have to scare you itself in order for the fear to count
@@joecerda4075 the movie says (through Jezelle) that “it has to scare ya.” So in order to know everything a victim has that it may want it needs to cause fear. @@sleepyhollowdedication7264 that’s awesome. lol. There is a lady at our church that is love with the Creeper lol. He’s got charisma. 🤟. We believe it must cause fear to read a victim. But when a victim is read it can tell almost everything about that person.
@@coryedwards5484 eyes, bellybutton and back of head. Not sure what it needed from the back of the head, maybe the nerves of the eyes where they attach to the brain? But the rest of him became a trophy like the rest, hanging on a ceiling or wall.
I think that the creeper can choose a potential victim without the victim showing fear, but the creeper needs to scare them to determine what it wants from them. For example, Billy Taggart, the creeper chose him as a victim and waited for the opportunity to insight fear into him. It can be seen carved into the handle of the knife Jack and Jackie found after the creeper took billy, that the creeper had already chosen billy, but didn't know what it wanted from him until he could sense it through fear. The adults on the bus, the creeper strategically took them out first, he chose them as victims before insighting fear. How did the creeper scare them though? Simply by coming down and grabbing them. Somthing coming out of the sky and grabbing you would scare the shit out of anybody. Let's talk the prisoners that the creeper didn't kill that were terrified, he could sense their fear but maybe they didn't have somthing he wanted, of what he wanted was weak, for example he didn't take Trish because Darry's eyes were stronger.
This is a brilliant thought and spot on. We have never really thought about it but it is the way the process has to work. There must be a trigger for the creeper to be attracted to a victim initially. This is content juice right here! ☝️
