- I road the PR7 for 6000km through the amazing Landscapes of Tanzania Africa. I tried to do as much off road as possible, and found what i was looking for. Time for a Service, some mods, and a review. Cheers!
Great review Rico. Mitas Rockriders are a Good choice. I have these on the SPR250 now and they are a good mix.
Thank's a lot for the review 👍
like the video.got the same bike..love it.
Thanks for a great video!👍
Rico, liked your "no shit" vid, really good!
I'm on the waiting list for a PR7 in the UK.
Did you have the "power up" kit on yours? Really not sure I need that, I'm only 70kg.
Hi, thank you. I personally really like the power up kit. I travel long distances with 30kg of luggage/equipment on the fast African gravel roads. That said, its really loud after a while. Combined with my light but not very soundproof airoh helmet, makes earplugs necessary. Try it without and upgrade if you feel like more POOWAA is needed. Cheers
Top video. Like it that you're not negative. Sure the bike might have one or two niggles, but people can say what they want. I think it's cool as F. 👍. This could be my next bike and I'm only 171 cm.
Thank you for the kind comment. Sort out the little niggles and be happy ever after. I am on 20000km now and replaced the wheel bearings and upgraded the spacers to stainless steel ones. Also added another big fuel filter that filters micro particles in the fuel line. All easy stuff and things you would have to do on any rally bike. There is no other new bike out there anywhere close to the price and performance out of the box. Still love it!
Ace video
Thanks for the review. Are you satisfied with the the mileage? I would hope a single cylinder relatively light bike would do well in that regard. Nice graphics on the bike. Really enjoy your videos.
Well... its also a powerful engine so it will be thirsty if you crank it! I made 300km on a day with just deep sand and technical stuff and 420km on another day with only smooth Chinese highway roads. In both occasions with 30kg rtw luggage. I am happy with that.
Nice video! Considering this bike. What can you tell me about buffeting and wind noise? At what speed and how much?
If you have to ask about buffeting and wind noise this bike is not for you. Get a BMW GS.
I am only 176cm but i am thinking about lowering the footpegs and the rear brake. It is comfortable when standing but cramped when sitting. Did you raise the handlebar? I will add double take mirrors because the stock is too small for Europe. Nice graphics btw! Thanks for the review!
Thanks. No i don’t use risers or lower foot pegs. I like it how it is.
Hi wish I had this bike! What was your rear rack made of? Thanks.
Thank you for the review.
I like the front fender mod.
Mine has been a cold starting pig from the beginning too. It seems to be getting better over time. I added a steering damper that raised the bar height. Being 6'2 I didn't mind the added height. And the damper is nice. Are you having difficulty finding OEM parts?
Hi John! Thankfully EAST AFRICAN MOTORCYCLES is an excellent supplier and importer of parts and bikes based here in zanzibar. 👍
Estaría muy bi3n que lo subtítulos en diferentes idiomas como el español, gracias
Very cool video mate! What year is the bike! I’m really considering to buy one!
2021
Wish i could buy it in the USA
You can. I did
How can I get this bike here in the USA
196cm? Did you order with the lowered footpegs? Run risers? I’m 188cm and read it might be too cramped? Great looking bike and setup though
No just the stock foot pegs and no risers. I like the sporty position and stand up a lot while riding. It really comes down to riding style and what you prefer.
@@ricomotorico5291 Unite, tall riders. I ride a R1200GS Rallye with lowered pegs. But rico is absolutely right, you should avoid risers if possible, and just stand in a more 'sporty' position with bent knees. At first it seems a bit exhausting but after a while it all makes sense. Other opinions on this?
@@sgtunix dont bend the knees!! Sporty position is straight legs bent back and elbows, but straight legs. That way the chassis can work and you are in control. Very very rarely bend knees. 👍💨🦒
@@ricomotorico5291Interesting perspective, but I've had to make it work with bent knees as I can't actually reach the handlebars if my legs are straight. Plus, shouldn't they be slightly bent in any case to absorb impacts?
@@sgtunix Yeah you are right, looking at my pictures i bend them a little too. But its less to absorb impact but to transfer weight back and forth, especially all the way back. the chassis should absorb most of the impact, if the suspension is hammering all the way through you should add preload and dampening. Important is feet pointing inwards to grip the saddle with the knees (makes the bendy knees look as well) and elbows way up. he does it like i do it (only better lol):

Any solutions on the sluggish first gear especially navigating technical territory low speed ?
Gearing is top. Wouldn’t change a thing. Just go fast enough, its fine.
@@ricomotorico5291 durability wise as a world off-road tourer are you able to make a video on that based on your trip ?
